The dragon's harem -
Chapter 1343 - 1343: Isabelle
Inside a large golden room, Lucifer sat on his large dark wood throne and looked around, his eyes stopping at the three peculiar guests. Two of them had arrived just today, Kali and her caretaker, Diana. They are here with Arad, but since they separated earlier, the two of them had arrived here first.
Lucifer hopes it's just a coincidence, but he isn't counting himself that lucky. Kali had been playing catch with Diana, but he suspected she was tracking someone. To be more exact, she was tracking the third woman now sitting with him in the room.
A tiny and strange half-halfling-half-angel, short, with long, pinkish-blond hair fashioned into drills, purple eyes with a pink glow burning inside, and a large smile on her face that looked unnerving and uncanny. She sat alone, humming a tune and playing with her long umbrella, inspecting every inch of her meticulously tailored dress.
"Ahem..." Lucifer cleared his throat, "Lady Kali, I'd like to introduce you to..." Kali glared back at him, and he froze in place. His face paled, and he started sweating. "No need, Lucifer. It'll be better for you to leave now." She pointed at the door and turned into her destruction form, causing Lucifer to gulp and his mind to race away, terrified. "Should I evacuate the area?"
"You won't need to. Just leave."
Lucifer bolted away and left them alone. Kali remained silent for a few seconds and then shifted back to her little girl form, leaned back, and glared at the other woman, "Won't even say hello?"
"Why would I even greet you? Destruction." The woman twirled her umbrella and rested it on her shoulder. Her eyes shifted to glare at Kali with a smirk. "Look how cute you look. I bet many of my dresses fit you perfectly, little doll."
"Honestly, now I wouldn't mind if you tailored a few things for me." Kali smiled and leaned back on her chair, relaxing for a bit. Diana could already understand that whatever that woman was, she was something beyond what a Herald of Destruction could handle.
"Who is she?" She whispered, and Kali looked up at her. "How should I explain it? She is a fragment of creation. Left from the time I killed and ripped her apart."
"Nice to meet you again as well, Olethros." The woman looked at Kali with a smile, and she frowned, "Olethros, really? I now go by Kali. Please use that name, Demiourgia."
The woman frowned, "I too go by another name now. Call me Isabelle. And, those old names of us are mere titles, aren't they? They merely describe what we are, not who we are."
Kali half-way agreed with her, "So? Why did you decide to show up now?"
"Decide?" Isabelle looked at her, lifted an eyebrow, and then frowned, "I decided nothing. You're the one who showed up on my doorstep. Are you here to bring me destruction like you always did?"
Kali laughed, "I only killed you before since you had the very smart idea of trying to create another universe for the abominations to live in and leave us alone." She stood and walked toward her, "How did it end? Exactly like I told you. You tried and couldn't make anything stable. They betrayed and infected you, and now, you're shattered into many pieces, barely able to resist turning into an abomination yourself."
"Acting smart, are you?" Isabelle sighed, "You can see that I'm already an abomination. The only reason I'm not getting rejected out of the universe is that I'm still holding onto creation." She then looked at the smiling little destruction.
"I see. You came here to rob me of that portfolio. Do you think I'll die without resisting?"
Kali shook her head, "Why would I do that? But to be honest, I'm here to give you a much worse fate, in your perspective, that is." Kali floated, and Diana rushed in with her chair. As the two sat only a meter away from each other, Kali cleared her throat and said in an even tone.
"There is a man I want you to serve. Alongside me, of course."
Isabelle frowned. She remained silent for a second and then waved her hand, summoning a stack of dresses, "You know how much I hate men, don't you? Nothing I ever make is to their liking. Especially my dresses."
She pulled out one of the dresses and gave it to Kali.
"I'll never work for one, let alone serve or- like what your eyes say, marry." Isabelle could tell that the relationship between Kali and this man she spoke of was more than a normal one. She had long since fallen from grace, but not to the point of not having her sharp senses.
"You'll like this one, I'm certain. In fact, you'll be angry at me if I don't invite you in." Kali smiled and then waved her hands, "Forget that for now. How much of your power do you still have?"
"Not much, almost nothing, thanks to you." Isabelle sighed, "All I can do now is sew clothes and mend them for a living. If I wanted my power back, then I must go around and track the shattered pieces of my body scattered around the world."
"And the more active you are, the more the world will reject you as an abomination." Kali sighed, "It won't be easy to get you back and running."
Isabelle frowned, "I must look really pathetic to you now. But I'll let you know, I've never been content with my life like I'm now." Isabelle jumped down from her chair, stretched, and yawned, "Sorry, but whatever you came here to ask me about, I can't help."
Kali looked at her, "Are you really leaving? Stay for a bit. My man is coming soon."
Isabelle glanced back, "Told you I'm not interested, and you shouldn't be interested in me either. Forget that I ever existed. The only solution to the Abominations' problem is destruction. You must kill them all." She smiled, "I just ask that you leave me for last."
Kali sighed, "Come on! Are you now creating scenarios for yourself? Sit back down and wait. He'll be here soon." Kali waved her hand, and Diana rushed in, grabbed Isabelle like a kid, and put her back in her seat.
Isabelle looked back at Diana with a dissatisfied frown and then sighed, "Fine, I'll humor you. But you'll have to try my dresses while we're waiting. I'm sure a goddess's pocket is deep, and I'll always need me a few sales."
