The Dragon Prince's Bride
Chapter 73. Give me your hate.

Chapter 73: 73. Give me your hate.

A soft chuckle escaped his mouth and she eyed him even more. "Are you jealous princess?" He asked and her face cringed in utter irritation. "Dear lord, you could just say no. Why make such a face?" He grumbled.

"Because you ask such a ridiculous question. What is there to be jealous about?" She asked as if the words left a bitter taste in her mouth. She could not even begin to fathom thee idea of jealousy over a barbarian! It would make her a finished woman! A laughable one at that.

"Do not stare at me barbarian, it is utterly rude." She scolded but he did not desist. And she did not like it. His gaze upon her continuously, it was uncomfortable.

"My dear wife, a day will come when you shall be terribly jealous." He assured her and a long loud laughter filled the air as she held onto the guard rails tighter so as not to fall with laughter. He was such a jester.

"You are so ridiculous, my fine sir." She laughed some more, even wiping a tear that had escaped her eye due to the very pleasant laugh, "pitifully ridiculous. I believe that jealousy can only be possible when a person’s heart is strongly locked with another. That means to be jealous of the people around you, of the people who interact with you, I would have to have given my heart to you in the first place. That is to say, I would love you." She burst into another round of laughter, this one louder than the last.

"My lord, you are delusional. One might even call you deranged for thinking such emotion could ever come from me toward you. You think I would ever love a man like you?" She placed a hand over her mouth to conceal her laughter. Lords she hadn’t laughed this hard in a long time. He was supposed to be the royal jester, not a prince.

"You mean a barbarian like me?" He asked.

"Yes, I am glad you at least understand that. I shall never love you to the point of being jealous. How could I ever love a man who has forced me into marriage, and taken me from my home?" She asked, her lips pressed into a thin line and her hands clenched onto the guard rails firmly.

"On the contrary my dear husband, unlike that stupid fairy of mine, I hate you. I hate that you are even breathing, I hate the fact that because of this damned marriage, a barbarian like you has the audacity to speak to me in person. I hate that that we share the same room, I hate that I have to see your face! I pray every night that you would tumble over and out of this ship and straight into the mouths of whatever sea beast is willing to consume the filthy body of a creature like you!!!" She had gone too far. She knew it, but she did not care.

He wasn’t saying anything in return, just staring at her as she ranted on. And she hated it even more! She hated that he thought of her as a spoilt brat who did not deserve any reply from him! He was so pompous for a barbarian and she hated that too.

By the goddess she really hated this man called her husband.

"The hate I feel for you can not even be measured, so do not talk to me about trivial things like jealousy. That is something a fool would feel toward a person like you. And trust me, I am no fool for you!" Lords, she felt refreshed. It gave her pure joy to humiliate him this way. How could he even think that? That she would like him enough to be jealous? She had never felt more insulted in her life!

"I see." Finally he spoke and he moved his hands from the guard rail, standing to his full height as he placed his hands akimbo. "I guess that means I no longer have to try to make you like me." He said and she scoffed.

"Dear goddess, were you trying? I did not realize that."

"Good. So I shall quit trying to make you like me and instead," he paused and took a step closer to her causing her hand to slowly slip off the guard rail one after the other as she staggered back, "I will aid your hate."

"Huh?" she breathed as he was suddenly so close to her, one of his hands had snaked around her waist and the other held her jaw. She tried to wriggle out of his hold but of course she could not.

"So hate me more." He brought his head closer to hers, "hate me with great vehemence." He breathed over her lips and she hated this. Hated how he was forcing her to stare into his eyes, hated how_ how her eyes were filled with his face. She hated most, the heat that was rising in her.

"If not love then give me all your hate. All of it. I will own that emotion if that is what you are willing to give me. I refuse to share it with anyone else." What was he saying? Was he really deranged? He wanted her to hate him? How did that even make sense coming from him?

"Hate me and me alone, no one else." What madness was this? Was it not supposed to be ’love me and me alone?’ was that not the famous line? He had it twisted!! He really was deranged. She could not say a word, his voice and breath was too much. They were making her dizzy.

"I’ll take what I get." And once again maybe she had expected it, but she could not control her stupid eyelids that fell shot and when his mouth covered hers, she did not push or fight. Not because she didn’t want to, but because she had no idea what was even going on.
