The Dragon Prince's Bride -
Chapter 106. Princesses tug-o-war.
Chapter 106: 106. Princesses tug-o-war.
Neriah had a habit... Whenever she wanted to learn a language, she always picked up the insults and curse words of that language before she learnt the whole thing.
It was the same with tragish, that was why she was certain she was just called a dumb.
"Barni, what is she saying?"
"You will only get vexed if I tell you. I do not wish to see my sisters fight." The boy replied and instantly picked up his book that had been laying on the bench next to him all this while.
He was such a virtuous child but Neriah felt like she would forever regret this day if she did not know what the princess was saying about her.
"I shall get you books on the Brian tribe if you tell me."
"I have read all the books about the Brian tribe."
"Then I shall get you the books about the ancient mermaids of the paclantic Ocean." She begged desperately.
"I do not wish to know about them yet." He replied.
"How about books on the mystery of the sirens of Atlafic Ocean?!"
"I will study that when I decide to study about the mermaids you mentioned earlier."
Neriah grunted and turned her gaze to Rakima again, she was still laughing!
Neriah really did not want to use this card but she had no other choice. "Tell me what she’s saying and I will tell you where to find Riri."
At last, his gaze shifted from his book to her and without saying a word Neriah could tell she got him, "Really?" He asked and she nodded.
He closed his book and placed it back on the bench. " Can you imagine that dumb girl? She is happy because she said a simple sentence. It was not even a full conversation. All she managed to say was a single sentence and she is so happy. Are elves really so dumb? I know my brother married her because of the exchange between the two kingdoms and because he and father had to do everything to acquire that cure, but still, marrying a woman like this is just so funny. Elves are really dumb." He paused and added, "That is the summary of what she has been saying."
The green in Neriah’s eyes glowed with wild anger as the words resounded in her head repeatedly. How dare she! A mere barbarian insult her!
Neriah rose to her feet and walked toward her.
"Why, do you have something to—" The words coming from Rakima remained unfinished and only a deafening silence echoed through the training ground. Rakima’s dilated eyes stared at the ground beneath her feet, with one hand on her face that had been forced to face the ground, slowly, she lifted her head and the glow in her golden eyes matched the one in Neriah’s.
"" Did you just slap me?"" Rakima asked but it seemed she remembered who she was speaking to and switched languages, "You, you dare to slap me!"
"Why? Did you not feel it? You need me to do it again? I shall gladly oblige to such a request." Neriah seethed.
"You little wench!" Rakima yelled and before Neriah could even bring forth any word from her mouth, a hand as slender as her own but way more vicious landed on her face, causing Neriah’s eyes to dull for a second.
"How dare you!" Neriah screamed as she held her face in her palm. It seemed as though it was burning. The slap was so damn hot she wished she had landed a harder one on the lady too.
"That is what I should be saying! How dare you slap my royaal face!" Rakima retorted.
"Your, royal face!! And is my face unroyal?! Before I am your brother’s wife, I am a princess of Avelah the greatest elven kingdom to ever grace this earth! And you call me dumb! How dare you, you filthy, good for nothing, weasel-looking trash-like creature insult me!"
Rakima’s eyes dilated even more, "W_what? W_weasle-looking! You little runt! You—"
"Yes! Maybe a weasel is too dignified for the likes of you! You disgusting barbarian. Bloody savage! You with that dirty blood that runs through your veins. Disgusting as you are, you think you can just insult me because I do not understand your words?! The nerve of—" Once again Neriah’s words disappeared as another hot slap landed on her cheek but this time she did not just hold her face in pain, she dished out as much as she received. Landing an equally vicious slap on Rakima. She made sure.
"Princesses please do not do this." came the sound of Rakima’s maid’s voice that was barely above a whisper.
"Why, you little piece of—" Were the uncompleted words that left Rakima’s mouth as she dived for Neriah’s hair. Neriah seeing this dodged the attack, or so she thought, a lock of her hair ended up in between Rakima’s fingers and the lady pulled hard causing Neriah to yelp in pain.
With a swift motion, Neriah pulled her opponent closer by the arm, easing the pain on her scalp for a brief moment as she also reached for the ladies hair.
And a tug-o-war began.
The poor maid of Rakima’s tried to get in between them to break them apart but only got pushed to the ground viciously.
All the while, Barni sat silently, patiently waiting for them to finish their brawl so his sister-in-law could give him the information he needed. But when he saw that they were getting more violent, he said to himself, "" I can ask for Riri later. First let me get out of here before I become like her."" He reasoned while looking at the maid that seemed to have passed out on the ground.
He picked up his book and rose to his feet, quickly he ran toward the exit, only to run into something... or someone. The short man could tell without looking up who he had run into, but still he lifted his head and craned his backward and guilty smile curling upon his lips as his eyes met the man that stood before him.
