Bojing jumped to hug Mingshen as soon his face was visible from far away from the lab’s distance.

"W-Why did you leave the lab, Boss?" He sniffled with a pitiful expression. "Are you g-going up on being a d-doctor? What will I d-do then? You cannot l-leave me Boss...!"

Mingshen grimaced. "Quiet Assistant Lu! Why are you crying as if somebody died?"

He wiped his eyes. "Didn’t your career die?"

He sneered. "You have a good imagination these days, Assistant Lu."

"B-But you left the lab!" He cried.

"For some personal mission."

"W-Which personal mission m-makes you sis Jia’s neighbor?" He tearfully enquired. "Y-You already bully her enough..."

"So you already tag me as a bully."

"Isn’t that your reputation when it comes to s-sis Jia?"

Mingshen pinched his cheek and dragged him inside like that. "I-It hurtshhh Bosshh..."

They crossed paths with Shilin, who was passing by. His eyes widened, slightly surprised. "Boss."

Mingshen smiled. "You look surprised that I am here. It has been hardly two days and you are already used to my absence?"

"Not at all, Boss. Senior Lu misses you a lot."

"What about you?"

"I am neutral."

"I see. Where is Bai Yingtai? It’s his court hearing today, right?"

"He is sleeping."

"Wake him up then unless he wants to wake up in jail."

Bojing grabbed his arm and tugged him hard. "W-Will Senior Bai really go to jail?" His face paled with fright.

Mingshen threw him a disdainful look. "Who does Bai Yingtai work for?"

Huo Tengqi growled in an extremely cold and quiet voice that rang shivers in the very air around him.

A burst of angry laughter escaped his lips. "Out of court settlement? Yang Mingshen wants out of court settlement?"

The Huo family’s lawyer from Tsi law firm, Mr. Li wiped his forehead with his handkerchief.

Huo Tengqi slightly tilted hai head, a dangerous glint settling in his eyes. "Yang Mingshen...Yang Mingshen...Yeah he was always a gutsy man."

He chuckled. "Right on the day of the court’s hearing, he is throwing the bomb of a quiet settlement? His employee who almost killed and assaulted my fiance wants to settle with me?"

Mr. Li said, "...Dr. Yang didn’t say it like that."

"What?"

He gulped. "It’s not him that wants the settlement. It’s you who will want it."

Huo Tengqi stared at him. "Excuse me?"

Mr. Li slightly loosened his tie around his collar. "Sir, they are challenging Bai Yingtai’s assault as self defense and for protection."

"Is Yang Mingshen high in the early morning? What drugs is he sniffing? Why the hell would he claim it as self defense?"

"Because Bai Yingtai is a witness of your d-domestic violence against...Miss. Meng."

The air turned even stiller and quieter as if a mere pin dropping on the ground would cause a huge uproar.

Huo Tengqi chuckled again. "Sorry what? Domestic violence? I love Rinrin. How would I ever think of hitting her?"

"...According to Yang Mingshen’s lawyer, Bai Yingtai woke up to confront you because you were a-about to hit Miss. Meng," he couldn’t breathe under his pressure.

Huo Tengqi said nothing.

"H-He also said that you were verbally abusing Miss. Meng ever since you saw him sleeping on her bed and when you couldn’t h-hold back your anger, you were about to slap her. So more than an assaulter, Bai Yingtai w-would stand in the witness box a-as a witness to your violence..."

Huo Tengqi smiled. "And you believe that Mr. Li? You believe the words of a man who assaulted my fiance? When everybody saw him on top of my fiance after I fell unconscious?" His fists clenched with blood thirst.

"He claims that he did so to save Miss. Meng of embarrassment and not letting others point their fingers at her as a cheating woman."

Huo Tengqi got up from his seat and walked around his desk towards Mr. Li’s seat. He almost jumped up in panic.

"How long has the Tsi law firm been serving my family?" He asked with a calm smile.

His hands trembled as they clasped against each other. "More than twenty years..."

"Yes. More than twenty years. Quite a long time, right? So you want to say that the capable lawyers of your firm, who are so well versed in working with my family and its affairs cannot prove these simple lies in the court?" he dusted some dirt off his coat, keeping his smile intact.

But Mr. Li was well aware of the ferocious animal that lay sleeping behind that smile’s facade.

"To save himself from punishment, Bai Yingtai is shamelessly putting all blame on me. He wants to label his assault as some hero’s justice? What a load of crap."

Mr. Li breathlessly said, "The problem is not j-just the claims..."

"So what else is the problem?"

"T-They can prove Bai Yingtai’s statement."

He swallowed another gulp.

"Dr. Yang said this is supposed to be confidential between a doctor and a patient but...Bai Yingtai is actually Miss. Meng’s doctor."

Huo Tengqi blinked twice. "...What? Doctor? Are you also high so early in the morning?"

"Rinrin was meeting a man behind my back?" Huo Tengqi laughed but his eyes expressed otherwise. "And she had been hiding it from me all this time?"

Mr. Li said, inching back into his seat. "Dr. Yang said that if you dragged his employee inside the court, then he would expose Miss. Meng’s medical history and her consultations with Bai Yingtai a-and that...would be detrimental to you because her medical problems a-are related to her relationship with you...If that got out then it won’t be Bai Yingtai going to jail but...you."
