The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love
Chapter 283: Pointless conversation

Chapter 283: Pointless conversation

Mingshen was standing at a side, leaning on a pillar with a drink in his hand and watching his mother drag Jia out for a dance. If anyone were to be the happiest tonight, even more than the birthday woman, then he was sure that it was his mother.

"Did you find the cult leader?"

Wei approached and stood beside him, holding a plate of birthday cake in his hand.

"Turns out he or she is not so useless, after all."

Wei blinked.

"Also turns out that he or she is a doctor."

Wei raised his brow at that.

"He or she treated the ankle injury themselves without going to the hospital. He or she never needed to. Which means he or she has all the facilities at their disposal which you find at a hospital."

"Like your lab," Wei commented.

He smiled. "So apparently, a member of my scientific medical community is out there, brainwashing people with some spiritual gibberish and mutilating young girls’ organs like a madman."

"I see."

"So now it’s a competition to see who is more of a madman. He or her - or me? Because I am going to cross all my limits of madness once I get my hands on him or her."

Wei nodded.

"Do you have a plan to catch him or her?"

He shrugged. "My assistant’s girlfriend is doing her spy job at the game company. But apparently, the game company’s CEO wants to marry me. So why not use that route too? Seems a lot quicker," he flashed a conniving smile.

"I see."

Mingshen tapped his finger on his glass and squinted his eyes at Wei.

"What?"

"Speaking of marriage, why did you marry little chili?"

Wei beamed at that question, flowers blooming around his head. His black eyes shone golden.

"Because Lihua is the best," he nodded hard.

Mingshen grimaced in disdain. "I will snip out those flowers if you don’t stop sparkling. I meant to ask why did you marry her?"

"Because I love her."

"Why do you love her?"

"Because she is the best," he said with doting pride.

Mingshen’s brow twitched hard. "Say that one more time and I will start a war."

Wei frowned.

"What do you want to know from me?"

"Why do you like that species with limited brain cells? Or should I ask...what made you think that you like her? You actually don’t like her, right? It’s more like you want to kiss and sleep with her."

Wei’s face fell. "How could you think that? I am not a playboy. I only love my Lihua. So I will only kiss and sleep with her."

"Why is the word playboy even being used here? You only want to kiss one woman, not multiple women."

"Yes."

"So you don’t like her?"

"Of course I love her."

"No, you just want to be physical with her."

He blinked. "I want to be physical with her because I love her."

Mingshen was puzzled. "That’s not how this works. It’s not necessary to love the person you want to be physical with."

"Isn’t that who a playboy is? That’s what Lihua told me."

"Is she the one feeding this baseless stuff to you and Spicy?"

"My wife is very intelligent," Wei pursed his lips. "Why are you asking this anyway?"

"I kissed Spicy today. Twice."

"Oh. Do you like her?"

Mingshen made a face. "Why did you ask that question?"

"Because you kissed her."

"So?"

"What else would it mean?" He tilted his head.

"That I just wanted to kiss her?"

"Because you like her?"

"No, because I just felt like kissing her."

"Why did you feel like kissing her?"

"Because she is the only Spicy in the world. I don’t mind if I kiss her or sleep with her," he shrugged.

Wei tried to understand his thought process. "You don’t mind because you like her enough to do those things with her."

He grimaced. "Isn’t that obvious, genius? Why would I want to kiss or make love to a woman I hate?"

"So you love Song Jia."

Mingshen gritted his teeth. "What part of my earlier answers did your brain not understand, idiot?"

"What part of my earlier questions is your brain not understanding?" Wei retorted back, apparently tired of decoding Mingshen’s mysterious thought process.

Mingshen breathed hard. "I see why you married little chili. Your and her limited brain cells match. I need to find a person with a little more brain cells than you have."

On the other side, Yang Bingqing made a face as she glanced at her son.

"Why do I feel that...my son and Wei are having a very pointless conversation right now?"

Jia coughed. Yang Bingqing twirled her in a loop with a bright grin.

"So, so tell me. How was your date with Mingshen? Did he do anything useful? Did you enjoy your day~?"

"Y-Yes, Aunt. I enjoyed it a lot though..." she gulped, "it felt too expensive-"

"Oof. That’s not a big deal at all. The focus of my question is if something happened between you two?" She sparkled.

"..."

"Worry not my dear. I will make Mingshen take full responsibility," she nodded. "The best way is to get married!" she chirped.

"..."

No way she should learn that Mingshen ki-

No, no, no! I am not thinking about those damn kisses again!

She coughed. "We just had fun at the club."

Yang Bingqing narrowed her eyes. "Are you sure you are not hiding anything?"

"I swear."

She harrumphed. "You two are not fun at all. If it had been your Uncle and me, then a lot of things would have happened."

"..."

"Especially in the hot spring," she shone.

Jia choked hard.

Yang Bingqing’s phone buzzed with a call and though she wanted to ignore it, she couldn’t after she took a look.

Her former right hand man, Xie Zi Han was calling. She had an idea why.

She flashed a smile and said, "I just have a quick call I have to attend to, dear. But I will be right back~"
