Jia couldn’t fathom the situation before her at all. Age fell pale in comparison to what she was seeing before her right now. A girl could get her first period as late as at sixteen years of age. But in Ehuang’s case, it wasn’t any pre-existing medical condition.

Mingshen was done with what he needed to check and Jia helped her back in her original position. He walked, his steps laced with heaviness and stood beside her.

Jin stammered, his face expressing his dread and fear. "I was right, r-right? Something is wrong with her, right?"

Instead of answering him, Mingshen stared at Ehuang. "Did you know when this was done to you? Or what I want to know is what you were told about it?"

"I..." pinched her brows slightly trying to remember, "I think I was eleven or twelve... when I asked Mom. Whenever I used to l-look down at it during bathing...it looked and felt strange to me. I was always afraid of asking her, b-but I took courage one day when I learned that o-other girls my age were getting periods, but I wasn’t...

Jin said, "I don’t understand. Is it really so bad?"

He sat back on his chair and gazed straight into her eyes. "There is something you should really know and I won’t beat the bush around it."

"Mingshen do you really-"

"Yes, Spicy. They came looking for a doctor because they wanted to know what was wrong. Ehuang is my patient," his eyes narrowed, "I have to give her my diagnosis and she deserves to know what happened with her. Every patient has that right."

Jia quietened and held his gaze for a few long moments. Eventually, she stepped back.

He looked at Ehuang and said, "There are two things here and both are equally serious. I need you to be strong to hear this."

Jin held her hand. "I am with her. I will be never leave her alone."

"Jin..." her eyes teared up with the warmth and strength in his gaze.

She looked at Mingshen and nodded. "Please tell me."

"Okay. First is your clitoris. It’s the pleasure spot in females. It looks strange because it’s not normal. The surgery has been done in a way..." he paused momentarily, "that you won’t ever be able to feel sexual pleasure in your life."

The reality was akin to a nuclear bomb dropped straight at her without any mercy.

Jin shared the same expression as that of his girlfriend’s - pure horror and disbelief.

"Yes. No stimulation or anything else will be able to trigger that excitement in your body because of the surgery that was performed on it. Since you won’t feel the pleasure, you wouldn’t reach the state of orgasm and satisfaction. It means that you won’t be able to enjoy your sexual life."

She trembled hard, her mind going blank. Her mind spun in circles, but she had to stay strong.

Mingshen said nothing for sometime.

But there is something done to your body which is halting that natural process as long as it can. Even if you do get them, there is no passage for it to go through your vagina. She gasped hard.

Mingshen’s eyes blazed with an undecipherable coldness. "Your genitals are altered in such a way that you cannot enjoy any aspect of your sexual life, whether it’s masturbation, orgasam or sex."

Jin and Ehuang were at a loss for words. They had never imagined the seriousness of the situation and thought that their problems were solvable.

"Can I...really...never...?" She choked through her broken sobs.

Jia quietly said, "That’s why we asked what was said to you by your parents. But with Mingshen’s diagnosis it’s clear that they fed you bullshit!"

"There was no accident," Mingshen confirmed positively, "The mother said that her waist down part was hurt badly, but there are no scars or indication of such injury on her thighs or legs anywhere. No signs of any surgery performed there. It’s only the genitals. If her legs were equally wounded, then there would have been some marks left by the treatment done back then. They lied to her."

It was evident that the young couple needed some time to digest this horror of a reality. The pain on her body felt pale in comparison to the harsh truth that she learned and the fact that her own parents were behind this.

Jia and Mingshen left them alone for sometime. They needed more detailed conversation about the events and all the lies that her parents fed her, but that would need to wait.

Bojing, who was pacing back and forth, in worry quickly headed towards them as soon as they got out. "Boss, Sis. Is everything o-okay?"

The darkness enveloping their expressions was enough to convey that something was seriously wrong.

"Sorry, Bojing. But I will be outside for sometime..." Jia said, lowering her head as she walked away with a quick pace.

Mingshen watched her leave, silence brooding in his dark eyes.
