Chapter 60: That which would never being done just once
Chapter 60: That which would never being done just once
I remember a saying; there are people who never masturbated in their whole life, but there’s no one who only did it once.
Yeah. I knew it was the truth now.
I woke up fine the next morning, probably because I already unloaded the day before, and Natha refrained himself from touching me all night, just as he promised. I did roll into his embrace in my sleep as always, but it was still safe when I woke up.
A night of peaceful sleep also seemed to calm my mind somewhat, and while I still couldn’t help but blushed a little bit from the intimacy, I was no longer overly flustered and flinched at every touch.
Wow—I was so proud of myself and bravely accepted his farewell kiss after breakfast.
Oh, you innocent little soul.
I spent the night agonizing over his leftover scent all over the bed and the pillow and it just reminded me of how I could smell all of that when he enveloped me from behind and kissed my neck and touched my chest and stroked me and...
Folks, I think I became a pervert.
Did I do it myself then? Yes. Did I spend the whole morning screaming to my pillow again? Yes. But did I snatch the pillow bearing his scent off the maid golem’s hands when they wanted to wash it?
Yes. Yes, I did that too.
"Ahh...I’m going crazy..." I laid down on the outdoor couch of the balcony, letting the breeze cleanse my dirty mind.
I felt like a boy discovering pleasure for the first time, something that probably should happen a decade ago. Only, it was delayed by me being sick and whatever. This was like an adventurer going out to the world and finding the joy of exploration. It was addicting.
I mean...who would not get addicted to something that felt that good?
But it was annoying that I couldn’t make it feel as good as when he did it to me, and it just left me feeling unsatisfied and incomplete, and in the end, leaving me craving for more.
This vicious cycle of lust!
"What should I do, Jade? I need to clear my mind from this impure thought," I poked the little bird scoffing defiantly beside my head. It seemed like the little guy was sulking since my head was filled with the thought of Natha—and any improper thing that came with it. "What do priests do to quench their lust? Praying? I know no God to be worshiped through. Perhaps something like meditation..."
Jade stared at me then, and I let out a sharp gasp. Right—meditation! How could I forget about it?
Scooping the little bird, I ran inside and took the scroll on the nightstand. "I even have homework! This is no time to have disturbing thoughts!"
*chirp*
Finally, my familiar no longer looked at me with dubious eyes, and even energetically led me toward the clearing of the young forest. I still told Doun of my intention, however, to prevent any mishaps. He would check on me from time to time, making sure I wasn’t going too far like last time.
As expected of a place with rich natural mana, all the life force I took last time had already regenerated. I didn’t plan to absorb it though, just to try something that came to my mind as I tried to decipher the scroll.
I was under the assumption that the scroll was written in cipher. But if it was just that, good magicians would be able to decipher it using their encoder spell. It would also mean regular druids might be able to crack it.
But this was a royal scroll, stored in the royal vault. There ought to be a reason why it was deemed useless in others’ hands. Just like how I ended up awakening the Spear of Judgment, there was something that only royal blood was able to do:
Mana purification.
Taking my seat atop the huge tree stump, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, the scroll nestled above my palm. It took so long before because I needed to familiarize myself with each of the life force owners, from the plant to the bugs and the water flowing deep within. But I already knew them now, and they already knew me, so it felt like meeting an old friend. There was no need for a formal introduction anymore, nor did I need to coax them into cooperating. They responded to my intention with ease, and nature’s mana flew into me even smoother than before.
Damn, this royal bloodline or whatever was truly good. And to think that this body was only partially druid. What about the pureblood druid royals then? How easy would it be for them to control it?
And what in the sorcery fuck happened for a kingdom with the power of nature to lose against a human empire?
Hmm...well, it was none of my business. I had more important things to worry about; right now, it was the matter of purifying this mana and channeling the output into the scroll. Last time, I did it unconsciously, like an instinct. But this time, I was trying to be aware of the process—it was also for the sake of being aware of my surrounding while doing it, so I could time and pace myself, and stopped when I needed to.
It was hard. It was like trying to manually learn the structure of this world’s language after being automatically able to speak it due to transmigration perks. I could speak it, and I understood what other people said, but if I had to compile a letter or report...it took me a whole night just to write the letter I sent to Natha at the start.
It was the difference between using magic through the scroll and using it while drawing your own formula. It was complicated, but if I could do it successfully, I would be able to control the amount and even the effect.
Hmm...yes—like the difference between reading and understanding.
It took a long time and a few trials and errors for me to find the right speed and timing for guiding the flow inside my system. Doun checked on me twice during my effort, and brought me lunch in the middle, which became Jade’s lunch in the end.
When the sun finally tilted in another direction, purified energy finally flew through my palm. As I had hoped, the energy seeped into the scroll, and after absorbing an amount that got Jade jealous, it float in front of me.
In a dramatic move, the scroll opened at once, unfolding into a long screen in front of me. The absorbed energy seeped into the ink of the letter, and they wiggled alive.
Honestly, it was rather...disturbing.
Like worms, the letters slithered around the parchment as if trying to find their rightful place. It started off gross, but it became fascinating as the sentences were starting to form and became readable.
"Hah—I’m a genius!" I pumped my fist in the air, and Jade chirped enthusiastically after feeding off the leftover energy from my palm.
It didn’t take long for the scroll to complete getting rearranged, and it floated gently back into my hands once it finished. Jade flew to my shoulder and peered into the scroll with me, acting as if it could read it too—so silly and adorable.
Honestly, I didn’t expect much. After all, it was a random scroll found in the black market. There was no indication whether it was really a cultivation method, or for whom the scroll was intended. If it was filled with advanced techniques, then I could only wait for the other scroll to arrive.
Oh, well, at least I knew how to activate it now.
But it seemed like I was in luck? As I read the text while munching on my neglected lunch, I could more or less understand the content. It wasn’t a cultivation method like I had hoped, but it contained something that I could learn either way.
Within the scroll was the method to assimilate nature’s life force into weapons.
"Well, well, well, look at this," a grin started to form on my face. "Just after I revived Alveitya? Doesn’t it feel like plot armor or something, Jade?"
Obviously, the little bird only tilted its head in confusion at my remark. My left palm, at that time, started to vibrate for a bit, and after giving my permission, the spear flew out of my hand.
"What—did you find out?" I laughed at the vibrating spear which also took place on my other shoulder like Jade, as if wanted to read the scroll together.
The little elemental bird was one thing, but what was with this sentient spear acting like it could read?
Whatever. I spent the rest of the afternoon reading the scroll and understanding it, before heading back to the tower, planning my next training course while involving the spear this time. I could feel it buzzing joyfully, which prompted Jade to fly and perch on my head, giving the spear a stern gaze as if establishing hierarchy.
Hey, wasn’t the spear actually the real senior here?
I ended up strolling through the forest while my two companions bickered through whatever it was sentience force of nature used to bicker.
Didn’t matter. The most important thing was that I could finally distract my mind from dirty, naughty thoughts.
