Chapter 487: The Flower Bloomed Beneath the Moonlight
Valen was nervous before, but he was strangely calm now.
He fell in love with the moonlight inside his husband’s eyes, and bathed in the moonlight like this just made him feel like he was drowned in Natha’s eyes. The fog and the reflection of the moon turned the small lake into a silver pool, as if the night couldn’t be more magical.
And if it wasn’t enough to take his mind off things, he just needed to look into the moonlight in his husband’s eyes; the moonlight that had always drowned him in the love and affection he always craved all his life; the moonlight that never failed to make him feel like he was the most treasured person in the world.
The moonlight sucked him into a world where there was nothing but them. Nothing but the cold skin he felt little by little as he shed his husband’s clothes piece by piece. He was feasting upon the beautiful, intricate patterns almost identical to those he felt on the surface of the black flower seed. Valen couldn’t help but lean forward and press his lips along those patterns, savoring the texture and coldness.
Through the kiss, Valen could feel the demon’s racing heartbeat, which reminded him of their wedding day. He lifted his head and drowned himself in the moonlight gaze, fingers curled up between dark locks.
"Are you nervous?" his whisper sounded like a roar in that empty space.
"Yes," the demon replied without pretense, stroking Valen’s waist. The silver eyes looked at the man with yearning. "Would you give me a kiss, please?"
It was a request that Valen would grant even without any request. The kiss was still soft, more to reassure their wildly beating heart than anything, as if they tried to find peace within the crease of their nibbling lips.
Slowly, with more gentleness than he ever showed, Natha led Valen down, back against the wet roots. With his large hand as a pillow for Valen’s head, the demon continued the kiss, just a tad bit deeper, as he worked to undress the man with his other hand. Letting their clothes float and disappear within the creeping fog, he climbed onto the small island and hovered above the lovely sight of his husband.
Stroking the fair cheek gently, Natha asked in a whisper. "Are you ready?"
A streak of flush filled the skin beneath the demon’s thumb as Valen remembered the long bath he spent before coming to the spot; the careful preparation he did so he could welcome Natha right away inside him.
Naturally, he understood that the demon was asking more about the essence fusing he needed to do later, but even that made him fluster.
But Valen nodded regardless, reaching out his hands to hold Natha’s shoulder and pulling the demon onto him, into him.
Honestly, he thought it was a bit of a shame, to consummate their marriage in such a beautiful, mystical face without being able to fully enjoy it. How nice would it be, to just let loose while they were bare in body and soul, to just surrender to pleasure?
But they weren’t there for the pleasure--at least, that wasn’t the only one. Even as Natha slowly, gently inserted himself, Valen never ceased to put his focus on both his and Natha’s heartbeat, feeling the swirling mana inside their cores that slowly poured into the place beneath their abdomens.
But Valen was wrong if he thought he wouldn’t be able to feel the pleasure because he had to concentrate on something else. No--if anything, he could feel everything even clearer; every movement, every time their genitals met and their nerves sparked. Just like when he did his breathing exercise, he became super aware of everything inside him, from the flow of mana to the movement of the blood cells. He could feel every bit of electrifying sensation from even the tiniest, gentlest movement and oh...
When he saw the glint inside those silver eyes, it was as if they were making love in both body and soul. It was no longer physical, as their mana was flowing into each other through the breath of the bond in their hearts and mana cores.
Ah, yes.
They are eternal.
When Valen pulled the demon down and sealed their lips in a deep kiss, it went as deep as their soul, exchanging their traces with each other. Instead of it happening down there, the joining of their essence was happening everywhere.
Gripping the roots beneath them hard, Natha closed his eyes and let Valen take him away; took his inside. His breath, his scent, his soul; his mana and the structure of his core. Until, finally, Valen took his essence too.
Natha could feel it; a part of him, of his identity, being swallowed by the druid. But instead of feeling scared, he rejoiced. He could give Valen anything, anything at all, so what was a little bit of him? He could smash his soul apart and give everything to his beloved if he had to.
But it stopped eventually, as Valen let him go with a gasp. Everything he had swallowed, and what had been there inside of him, was swirling like a storm.
"Aahh!" his lips parted and his eyes blown wide at the storming essence. He jolted, back curving like a bow, panting.
"Sweetheart," Natha grasped the half-druid, cradling his beloved carefully, worriedly. But there was nothing he could do now, just praying for the Gods and their future child. "You can do it, sweetheart...you’ll be fine," he whispered, more for himself than for Valen.
Because Valen couldn’t hear him at that time, battling the three strong essences in his body. The alpha seed, the goddess’s light, and nature’s blessing. Three essences of peak creatures hovering between battling their dominance and holding hands in harmony.
Was it because thousands of years had passed since they last lived in harmony? It seemed hard for them to do so--even the essence of druid and human that had been living side by side inside Valen’s body. Each of them wanted to be the one taking over the biggest spot in the gene pool and Valen did not like that.
That’s enough!
He screamed, and encased them all inside a cocoon-like jail, gazing at them in disappointment. The essences flinched and scooted closer to each other, holding each other in the face of their angry papa.
Oh? It didn’t feel so bad, holding each other close like this. They quieted down and after a while, slowly trying to fuse the spot where they were touching to see how it felt.
Hmm...it wasn’t so bad at all!
Slowly, gradually, they got rid of the inherent prejudice and animosity, pressing closer and closer, and fusing more parts under the watchful gaze of their papa, which gradually turned from anger to gentleness.
That’s right. You are one, you can live together in harmony if you get rid of your selfishness. Come, you can do it.
With their papa’s encouraging words, they fused more and more, infusing their own personality into the newly formed iridescent core. With the glow of a beautiful cosmic rainbow, the core of the three essences was finished at last.
"Haa--" Valen gasped again--but this time, he could move himself.
He looked down, placing his hands above his belly button, and whispered sharply.
"Shwa--"
As if responding to his needs, the roots cradling the black flower seed moved to deliver it to Natha, who took it as swiftly as he could without risking dropping it on the ground.
With a clenched jaw and knitted brows, Valen pulled the iridescent core from his body, letting out another gasp as it emerged from his belly.
With bated breath, he watched as the core was bathing in moonlight, the harmonious essence swirling like a beautiful universe was carved inside.
"Nat..."
"Here," with gentle support beneath Valen’s cupping hands, Natha led the iridescent core to the top of the flower seed.
The black cocoon shuddered and the closed tip opened slightly, swallowing the core without hesitation before closing it again.
But they could see it; the glow traveling and settling inside the seed. The pulse, which had grown weak before, suddenly beat hard as if being resuscitated. Even Natha could hear it, unlike before. The pattern along the surface glowed in deep blue and vibrant green, as streaks of light appeared on the surface.
"Does...does it work?" Valen asked with a tremble.
"I think so," Natha took out a cloak from his storage ring and draped it on Valen’s bare, shuddering body; a sign of mana deficiency.
He pulled his beloved close to him and wrapped the naked body tightly in his embrace. He always wished he had warm blood in his body at a time like this, but Valen scooted closer and sighed in satisfaction while basking in his cold temperature.
"I’ll be fine," Valen said, smiling beautifully even with a pale face and trembling lips. "Just hold me like this."
Of course; that was the least Natha could do, and he would do so without Valen needing to request it. He held his beloved tight and kissed the sweaty temple. "Thank you," he whispered, battling the tears climbing into his eyes.
Valen smiled and took the seed into his embrace, feeling proud and excited for himself. "It looks like an egg about to hatch," he said, giggling quietly with the leftover energy in his body--which wasn’t much.
But it was truly fascinating and beautiful. Valen couldn’t help the urge to caress the streaky surface and--
"Oh..."
The white streak increased like a crack, and with a blinding light, the black outer shell shed into the night. Like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon, white petals swirled open, with green vines and blue patterns decorating the plain and beautiful ivory canvas.
Holding the iridescent core inside, a flower bloomed beneath the moonlight.
