Chapter 467: in the end, it’s what people do in a honeymoon
"I’m sorry--God, I’m so sorry!"
Natha had his head on my lap and his knees on the ground, hugging my waist tightly with his trembling hands. He had been in this state for fifteen minutes already, apologizing over and over again, so much so that I couldn’t even say anything in response.
That was the first thing he did after I woke up. Still in a groggy state after...how many days was it? Oh, I had no idea. Anyway, I was still too dazed to react, sitting on the edge of the bed in confusion because everything had been cleaned and fixed and I was already clean and clothed.
I had just started rubbing my eyes and yawning widely when the door opened suddenly as if it was in panic or something. Naturally, because the one opening it was even more in panic. He was pale, as if all the flush he experienced the past few days sucked everything.
Naturally, I flinched in shock from the loud sound and his ghastly expression. Perhaps I shouldn’t, because he seemed to perceive it as me flinching at him--at his presence.
At least, that was what I thought when he got even paler and rushed over as if I had just dropped to the ground all bloody or something. But no--the one dropping to the ground was him, and that was when this all started.
"Umm..."
The moment I found my voice, he looked up and Mother! There were tears in his eyes!
"What? Why are you crying?!"
"I’m sorry..." his voice turned hoarse and shaky, as he kept repeating the same phrase over and over again. "Sweetheart, I’m--"
"Sush!" I put my fingers across his lips, shutting him up. "That’s enough."
He shut up then, but the tears pooling in his eyes were falling down instead. Haa...what should I do with this husband of mine?
I sighed and wiped the streaming tears, very much tempted to scold him. Of course--of course, I knew he was like this because of his natural over-protective instinct, and I couldn’t fault him for that. I knew he had it because the me he met the first time was someone who would literally go straight to emergency if I fell or was swept by a cold breeze. My condition had been ingrained in his mind for decades that he couldn’t get rid of it even after knowing I was perfectly healthy and totally less prone to disease and injury than anyone around me, including himself.
This was why I could never ask him to go hard during sex or treat me roughly. He was crumbling down just from a few bite marks and very, very satisfying sex.
Huff.
"I’m okay," I told him firmly, grasping his face so we could look at each other’s eyes. "I told you I’ll be alright."
"But--"
"I’m the one who told you to continue," I cut him. "I want you to continue, and I wasn’t afraid when I said it. I give you consent."
I wiped his wet cheeks once again, and thankfully, his tears finally stopped flowing. Heh--what would Jade say if the little bird saw Natha like this? The thought of it put a smile on my face.
"Listen to me, Matsa Ra Natha," I grabbed his face tighter, and he flinched at the use of his full name and title. "You were in a rut, and you were in a rut because of me. Is it so wrong for me to help you go through that? I am your husband. You always told me so. Then why are you preventing me from doing my duty as your husband?"
"That’s not--"
"That is my duty," I gripped him even tighter--almost squeezing his cheeks, really. "You had an affliction, you were in pain. Isn’t it normal for your husband to take care of you while you’re experiencing it? Wouldn’t you do the same? And you forget the most important thing..."
I paused then, waiting for him to digest my words and make a reply. "...yeah?"
"I wanted this," I loosened my grip then because I might laugh at how stupid he looked at that moment. "And I will continue to do this in the future. So stop being like this, okay?!"
I smacked his cheeks and squeezed them together one last time, before giving him a heartful kiss and a little threat. "I’m going to be really angry if you stay like this."
He flinched and straightened his back, as if...kneeling in attention--if there was such a thing.
"You are so silly," I laughed and pinched his nose. "Why are you even like this when I enjoyed it so much, huh?"
He blinked and parted his lips, for a few seconds but couldn’t force any words out. "You...enjoyed it?"
"Oh, I did! I still do!" I let out a sigh as my mind recalled the fresh memory of that continuous tingling sensation. "You were so hard and wild and oh--you even got bigger!" I clasped my hands and turned toward the full-length mirror in the corner of the room, giggling as I saw the peeking bite marks and hickeys all over my skin. "Even the marks are persisting--I love it!"
Natha did not make any sounds for a few seconds more, and when he did, he almost stuttered. "I..." he paused and swallowed before continuing. "Did it...not hurt? Didn’t I hurt you?"
"No?" I ran my fingers through the marks, feeling the slightly coarse surface. "I mean...it’s almost like a play? It felt--ahem--good, for me...?"
I grinned sheepishly, suddenly feeling embarrassed at the details.
"I..." Natha parted his lips without continuing his words again. In the end, he was back to burying his face in my lap. I had thought he would cry again, but I could hear his groan. "Oh, my Lord..."
And then what happened before happened again, only that his ’I’m sorry’ became ’Oh, my lord’ for a few minutes. I didn’t know what to do since he seemed to be in the middle of trying to get his bearing again, so I just let him hug my waist while I patted his back. What finally stopped him was...my grumbling stomach.
"...oops?"
Well...what could I do? I hadn’t had anything for days.
He laughed, for the first time that day, and looked up, raising his hand to caress my cheeks. "I’ll cook something good this time, I promise."
When he stood up, I raised my arms instead. "Carry me! I wanna see you cook!"
He chuckled again and carried me to the couch in the room, positioned me so I could watch him in the kitchen while comfortably snuggly with some plush pillows and blanket on the couch. Naturally, he did not forget my morning herbal drink...although it wasn’t morning anymore.
"Anyway, do you know how long did we..."
"...three days," he said from the kitchen.
"Oh! Just like our airship adventure!" I giggled behind my mug. I might be sober, but counting the hours and days was not in my repertoire. I didn’t even know how Natha knew what day it was. "So...is this the fourth day?"
"Fifth if we count the day we arrived."
Oh, right--I recalculated again and realized that I must have slept quite a lot after all of those satisfying sex.
"Wow..." I exclaimed and giggled again. We didn’t mean to, but the honeymoon turned out to be filled with wild sex. Although, in the end, we didn’t use any of those wedding gifts.
"I’m...glad...that you seem to enjoy it," he let out a sigh as he approached me with a tray full of glistening roasted poultry with vibrant veggies and fruits and creamy-looking mashed sweet potatoes...
My stomach grumbled again and he put the tray on my lap. Oh--what a treat! There was also a fragrant soup that invited me to slurp it right away. The warmth coated my stomach further and I sighed in satisfaction. He didn’t lie--it was better than the last one already.
"When did you wake up? Seems like you’ve been preparing this for a long time."
"A few hours ago," he said while stroking my bulging cheeks filled with the roasted poultry he spoon-feed me. I wondered how many hours of that he spent in silence while cursing himself before finally tidying up the house and starting cooking in distress.
Oh, my poor husband.
I pinched his cheeks and told him to eat too. After making sure he ate some, I finally asked what I had been curious about before. "Nat, do you...remember everything?"
He paused and pressed his lips, before shaking his head. "Only what happened at the beginning..."
Ah, figures. If he remembered, he would remember me being completely ecstatic throughout everything, and even begging him to not stop. I guessed he only moved by his instinct from then on.
"Too bad..." I muttered. "It was quite nice."
"How could it..." he stopped and took a deep breath before exhaling it slowly and shook his head. I held my laugh and shoved more food into his mouth. "That’s not how I want our honeymoon to be," he said after swallowing what I gave him. "I can’t believe we lost four days just like that..."
It wasn’t a loss for me, but I guessed I shouldn’t say it. "We still have three days, no? What do you want to do anyway?"
"Cosplaying as normal newlyweds?" he said while glancing around with a wry smile. Oh, right--we did want to feel how it would be like if we lived in a house with only the two of us. "I want to take you around the Islands, to the waterfall and the cave behind it--I know you’d like that."
I perked up immediately. I did like the sound of that!
"Also...I was planning to bring you underwater and--"
"Let’s do it!" I almost slammed my palms against the tray. "We should totally do it! You promised me!"
"Sweetheart, we’re just--"
"So? I can still totally do it! I want to do it!"
This was what a honeymoon was for! Right? Right?
He looked at me wordlessly for a few seconds before laughing into his palm. "Ahh..." he sighed and rubbed my wrists to calm me down. "I know, sweetheart, but..." he suddenly looked rather embarrassed. "I am the one who needs a little break."
...oh. I giggled and returned to my meal.
