Chapter 40: The Last Saber
Agares scanned the area around him, making sure he was ready to fight the 13 statues.
The man tried to call Nyx, but there was no response. All he saw was an error message.

"What’s going on?" Agares asked, confused.
Although the statues moved and attacked, their strikes weren’t as agile or fast as those of humans.
Agares grabbed Erika’s hand and pulled her back, avoiding the mysterious monster statues.
Unfortunately, Erika was cut by a stone sword and wounded in her leg. Their attacks were even powerful enough to destroy the iron armor Erika was wearing. The woman groaned in pain.
"Erika!"
"I’m okay."
Agares landed and let Erika lie on her back on the floor. He turned his head and saw the cut wound with purple energy above it. It could be said that Erika was cut by dark energy.
’Maybe I can absorb the dark energy so she can recover,’ explained Agares.
He tried to hold out his hand, focusing on absorbing the dark energy. But it didn’t work. Agares still couldn’t extract the energy from Erika’s leg wound.
"Behind you, Agares!" shouted Erika.
Agares turned his head and immediately blocked the swing of the mysterious stone statue’s sword.
The man gasped and fell to his knees when he felt the power of the monster statue’s sword swing.
While Agares was focused on blocking the attack of one of them, another monster statue walked with firm steps towards Erika.
"Get away from her!" shouted Agares.
Erika looked panicked and anxious. She tried to stand up and walk unsteadily, but their situation was surrounded from all sides.
The woman’s eyes welled up with tears as she stared at Agares, who was still struggling to hold back the statue monster’s power in front of him.
"HYAAAA!" Agares shouted.
"Activate Skill!"
"Saber Skill: Execution Eclipse!"
[Saber Skill: Execution Eclipse Activated]

[Mana: 1000/15000] [-200]
Agares pushed them away while swinging his sword in a circle, sending a full circle of shadow slashes. This caused Chain Marks to appear on all the statue monsters.
[Chain Mark Activated]
The chain mark pattern was clearly visible on the chests of the 13 statue monsters. They fell down as they were pushed back by the power of Agares’ third skill.
Erika opened her eyes and was shocked to see Agares’ power.
"Agares?"
The man flew up into the sky, his eyes continuing to emit an aura of dark energy, and Agares’ entire body was filled with similar energy.
A projection of a red moon appeared, along with a large black bat-winged figure resembling the darkness god Azariel.
Erika was stunned, her mouth agape as she walked away from Agares. She clearly saw Agares flying in front of the red moon and the black figure, a terrifying power in Erika’s eyes.
’So, this is Agares’ true power?’ Erika asked curiously.
Agares let his sword float forward, absorbing the dark energy from the red moon and the black bat-winged shadow figure.
They disappeared and were completely absorbed into Agares’ sword.
He held the powerful sword and pointed it downward in a stabbing gesture. As a result, a giant sword condensed from the dark energy and shot downward, striking the 13 statue monsters with a loud explosion.
Erika raised her hands, trying to protect her face and eyes from the dust. Smoke filled the area, Erika coughed, unable to see anything in front of her.
"Are they dead?"

[Chain Effect Triggered]
Agares came down from the sky with his right hand still holding the sword. The man turned his head to the side, his eyes returning to normal. He saw Erika, who looked shocked by his power.
"Are you okay?" asked Agares.
"I’m fine. But what was that power?"
"That—"
DOOM
A mysterious explosion echoed loudly in the area, accompanied by a clear buzzing sound that pierced the ears. Agares and Erika had to cover their ears due to the loud noise.
"What was that sound?" Erika asked, but it was useless because Agares couldn’t hear her.
The buzzing sound lasted only five minutes, Agares could breathe a sigh of relief. He raised his sword and swung it sideways, dispelling the smoke that had been trapping them inside.
"Wait! Where did the statue monsters go?" asked Erika, shocked.
That’s right! The statue monsters disappeared without a trace after Agares removed the smoke.
There was no trace of the statues, not even a trace of a fight. Agares narrowed his eyes, this dungeon felt strange to him.
Agares stepped into the center of the circular altar and looked around. He watched as the 13 monster statues returned to their places on the walls, standing still and motionless.
"What exactly happened?" asked Agares.
Erika limped closer to Agares. The man saw that Erika was still injured, a sign that the battle had indeed taken place. But what happened after Agares defeated them was a mystery.
"Someone with the Job Hero Saber!"
"Please come in."
Agares was startled. Slowly, the purple light that formed a dome in that place faded and disappeared.
All that remained was a mysterious portal in the room, strange and unusual to Agares.
There was a slight doubt in Agares’ mind whether he should enter it or not. However, something in his heart told him clearly that he had to go in to find out the meaning of this place.
"Saber Job. That means only I can enter this place," Agares explained.
He glanced aside and looked at Erika. Agares clearly stated that he would go in and find out what was inside. Therefore, the man asked Erika to wait.
"Will you come back? What if you don’t return?" Erika asked, looking panicked.
"I will definitely return. You don’t need to worry."
Erika fell silent, then nodded in agreement. She didn’t really want to stay here any longer, but what could she do?
Erika was certain that the appearance of this mysterious room was somehow connected to Agares.
Slowly, Agares stepped into the portal and found himself in a large room resembling a throne hall.
Towering black pillars supported the sky, while thousands of armored knights holding swords knelt down in a knightly manner.
They were not kneeling to Agares, but rather to someone sitting on the throne holding a petrified longsword. Agares’ attention was focused there.
Just as Agares lifted one foot forward, the mysterious man on the throne raised his head and stared intently ahead. He raised the petrified longsword and pointed it at Agares.
The attention of all the Saber knights shifted from looking forward to glancing sideways at Agares.
Their eyes glowed purple, the same color as Agares’ eyes when he used his saber skill.
The mysterious man on the throne also emitted a similar energy and light, but Agares did not know who he was or what his connection to him was.
"The last Saber!"
