Chapter 345: Chapter 212: Scarlet Moon_2
Even with only partial authority, Lang Tai had no obstacles here anymore.
However, this virus, although powerful in its infiltration ability, required the wristwatch to be activated in advance, and it had to be transmitted via a wired method to successfully bypass the watch’s built-in firewall.
Of course, for Lang Tai, this wasn’t difficult.
In this era, to be an assassin, one could not simply be adept in combat, technical training was also essential.
During the two-minute implantation process, he quickly changed into the uniform of the security personnel, and then hid the security person in the shadows behind the staircase.
Lang Tai straightened his attire, which was slightly snug, but it posed no problem.
He stepped toward the main hall, heading in the direction of the employee cafeteria.
Meanwhile, the information from the implanted device continuously flashed within his Prosthetic Eye. Soon, he located the content he was looking for.
The entire White Eagle Company’s experimental area had only one place for food preparation, the employee cafeteria, which was divided into three floors. The first floor was for regular employees, offering free standardized meals; the second offered paid made-to-order meals; the third was reserved for company executives, which, barring occasional group meals, mostly provided an exclusive meal delivery service.
Now just past mealtime, the target known as Diller also needed to eat.
In the experimental area of the White Eagle, the employee cafeteria was the only place to prepare food, where every meal, be it the common staff meal or a special order, was recorded.
With Diller’s status, it was natural he wouldn’t dine at the employee cafeteria. His meals would be delivered, clearly.
But as he exited the rear door of the White Eagle building, heading toward the employee cafeteria, a figure appeared in his vision.
A young man in waiter’s attire, his face adorned with a smile trained into existence, pushed a dining cart leisurely toward the White Eagle building.
Although he had undergone a simple disguise, he still recognized the newcomer by his facial structure and demeanor.
Fox.
He was here too.
That made things much simpler.
As the cart reached Lang Tai, he heard Fox whisper, "Follow me, I’ve prepared a uniform for you."
Then, as if passing by, Fox slowed and eventually stopped.
He glanced over his shoulder, looking back at Lang Tai. The golden sunlight evenly covered his face, yet it brought no warmth. He calmly asked, "Can you help me hold down Tang later after we catch him? I’m not very good at getting my hands dirty personally."
Lang Tai cocked his head, but unlike his usual indifference to others’ questions, he nodded and gave Fox a thumbs-up.
Then, he followed Fox back into the White Eagle building and changed into the XXXL-sized waiter’s uniform that Fox had dug out from the bottom of the cart, taking the opportunity to disguise himself once again.
Before coming to the White Eagle building, he had already altered his appearance once, and now, for caution, he did so again.
Fox didn’t know why Lang Tai and Jiang Shu had come to the Fifth District, but he could guess, so he followed along.
It seemed, though, that Jiang Shu didn’t want him involved; after all, his actual combat ability was somewhat weak. His hypnotism was strong, but against mechanical creatures like Tang’s Fake Body, it would be of no use.
Now, employing Fox had been a reluctant move by Jiang Shu, but in practice, it had proven that wherever there were people, Fox was a formidable presence.
His approach was not much different from Lang Tai’s, but his efficiency surpassed that of Lang Tai, the T0 professional assassin, by a significant margin. In just a matter of minutes, he had gathered Diller’s information and completely replaced the meal delivery person, earning the rights to deliver to the Diller Laboratory.
Diller was in the C401 laboratory in the Underground Experimental Area.
The two swiped access to the elevator heading to the underground area, stepping in with the cart, without any excess conversation, they quietly waited for the elevator doors to open.
"Ding—" the elevator doors opened.
This was a somewhat dimly lit experimental area, with a sinister style. The walls were a ghastly pale color, illuminated only by a strip of lights that flowed along where the walls met the ceiling.
Following the signs, they quickly found Laboratory C401. Lang Tai positioned himself at the entrance to the lab and stood still.
"Swipe—" The lab’s door swiftly slid open sideways, and Lang Tai alone pushed the cart into the interior of the lab.
This laboratory was large, with a circular interior layout and a round trial area in the center, from which hung half an External-type Mecha suspended by ropes.
Around the trial area was a ring of instruments and control stations, separated by a double layer of special glass.
Lang Tai’s gaze locked onto the figure in a white lab coat standing in front of the control station. Judging by the body shape and profile, it was indeed Diller.
"Bring it here," Diller said from a distance, without casting even a glance in Lang Tai’s direction.
Slowly, Lang Tai approached Diller, his muscles tensing, instinctively sensing the danger in the air.
He was a T0 level Combat Sequence, but facing a Research Sequence’s T1, he held no delusions of overwhelming superiority. The seemingly endless Black Silver technologies produced by his opponent could prove to be a real headache to him.
