Chapter 304: Chapter 193: He Started Talking About the Past_2
"Hmm?" Tang had not expected Jiang Shu to address him with such a remark, but he quickly concealed his bewilderment and nodded his agreement, "Okay."
Wolf, on the other hand, was looking at Jiang Shu’s retreating figure with an even stranger gaze.
Why didn’t Jiang Shu invite me?
...
He has changed.
---
Jiang Shu left the police station and headed towards a large commercial van parked by the roadside.
Opening the door and taking a seat in the passenger’s side, he nodded to Lang Tai at the wheel, "It’s fine now, let’s set off."
In the back of the van, a young man lay on the seat with his hands crossed behind his head serving as a pillow.
His face had a distinctly youthful handsomeness, but his normally expressive eyes now conveyed a sense of desolation.
"I want to kill Tang," the youth suddenly said, followed by another comment that sounded like either a clarification or self-suggestion, "No one at the police station can stop me."
"I want to kill him even more," Jiang Shu looked at the rearview mirror towards the backseat, where there should have been two people, and sighed, "The one inside is not Tang, just a stand-in for him."
"Uh-huh." The youth turned over toward the backrest, turning his back to Jiang Shu and Lang Tai.
Jiang Shu glanced at him but said nothing.
The figure lying in the backseat was none other than the Fox who had once stirred up trouble in Seventh District, now devoid of his usual sly and unrestrained demeanor.
He had the closest relationship with Devil Wind, so Devil Wind’s death hit him the hardest.
"What do you want to do next?" Fox suddenly sat up, appearing quite revitalized; he hadn’t come here today just to be melancholic.
Fang Yue and Ancient Snake were already waiting at the agreed place, and Jiang Shu had gathered all of them together which surely meant something significant was about to be discussed.
"Let’s pause the operations that were initially set for Seventh District for now," Jiang Shu said, "Our next target is going to change."
"Are you scared?" Fox frowned slightly, "Afraid of being found by Tang?"
"No," Jiang Shu shook his head, speaking indifferently, "Tang will soon be too busy to worry about us."
"Hmm?" Fox was taken aback, sensing the confidence in Jiang Shu’s words, he instinctively asked, "What have you done?"
"You’ll know shortly," Jiang Shu did not reveal too much.
"Then why leave Seventh District?" Fox pressed, "We’ve done a lot here."
"You forgot about Thirteen District," Jiang Shu sighed, "Many criminals have hidden there; they are all high-risk individuals."
Fox remained silent, considering Devil Wind had always partially blamed them for this situation.
From this perspective, although Devil Wind hadn’t been able to address this issue before his death, he must have wanted to see it through.
"What about you?" Fox looked at Jiang Shu, and unlike the others, he always trusted but simultaneously doubted if Jiang Shu had hidden agendas.
Jiang Shu was inscrutable to him, but he never explained his true intentions to anyone; he opened up only when he chose to.
Thus, this move surely held deeper meaning.
"I’ll be going too," Jiang Shu nodded.
Fox appeared puzzled, "You? Aren’t you performing magic anymore?"
"Typically, I only need to perform on one day each week," Jiang Shu shrugged nonchalantly, "Plus, I think it’s time to train my disciple."
Fox did not respond, and after contemplating for a while, he nodded slowly.
However, the four Tablet Spirits standing around the copilot’s seat stiffened involuntarily upon hearing this.
To...
To go to Thirteen District?
Master is going to Thirteen District?
And to be based there permanently?
Wouldn’t that mean there’s a high chance of their Taigong Dynasty being discovered?
Suddenly, the Tablet Spirits were sweating profusely, shorthand...
"Also, help Fang Yue clean his record first; he’s the only one here whose face is known at the station," Jiang Shu spoke again.
"How?" Fox looked towards Jiang Shu.
"I’d recommend plastic surgery, but let’s hear his own opinion first; not everyone is willing to change their looks," Jiang Shu continued, "I will do my best to help him."
After speaking, he gave Fox at the backseat a sidelong glance, "After all, this mess is your doing."
"I..." Fox’s face changed, as if a nerve had been struck, and he quickly responded, "At the time, we needed a mole who wouldn’t have to show up again, I never expected it would turn out like this."
Soon after, the commercial van drove into an underground garage, and the three people got out, heading towards the apartment above.
It was a simple studio apartment he had found for the Fish Lady.
A studio apartment.
Because Lang Tai refused to move to a place far away from Jiang Shu.
Lang Tai was surprisingly adamant on this issue.
He wouldn’t move.
He had to be constantly guarding Jiang Shu’s side.
This left Jiang Shu quite helpless, but since he couldn’t convince Lang Tai, he had no choice but to let Lang Tai stay in Black Currant.
Except Jiang Shu rented an office there from Sister Mei for Lang Tai’s accommodation.
Suddenly, Lang Tai halted in his steps.
His nostrils twitched, as though sniffing something in the air, then his gaze settled on a corner of the underground parking lot.
There stood a black car.
