Chapter 240: Chapter 172 I really gave you a chance.

"You chickened out."

"You chickened out."

"You chickened out, you chickened out, you chickened out, you chickened out, you chickened out."

"..."

As he helped Liu Tingruo along the way to the room, she pouted and made a fuss, repeatedly saying "You chickened out" and "You don’t dare," which was so annoying that Jiang Shu felt like hitting someone.

Opening the door, Jiang Shu tossed Liu Tingruo onto the large bed at the center of the room and sat beside her, tilting his head to look at Sister Ruo on the bed.

Liu Tingruo lay on the bed in the shape of a "big" character, staring at the ceiling with wide eyes.

Now she seemed a lot more normal than before, at least there was more clarity in her eyes.

"Jiang Shu, I feel so unreal," Liu Tingruo whispered softly.

"I do too," Jiang Shu nodded. He leaned over to arrange Sister Ruo’s hair, scattered across the bed like the radiating seeds of a dandelion.

And as he straightened out the dandelion into a bunch, he spoke while doing so, "Such a cute Sister Ruo is now my girlfriend."

"Hey, I never agreed to that," Liu Tingruo glanced at him and snorted coldly.

"Then you’re my little wife," Jiang Shu laughed. He couldn’t resist pinching Sister Ruo’s cheek.

Her cheeks were a spreading pink and warmer than usual, pale and tender, and felt wonderful to the touch.

"Pfft, who cares about you." Liu Tingruo snorted disdainfully through her nose, then closed her eyes, and her breathing became even.

"Wait, you’re just going to sleep like that?" Jiang Shu shook Sister Ruo’s body. "Huh? Aren’t you going to take a bath or something? You’re all sweaty..."

"I’m not sweaty," Liu Tingruo still had her eyes closed, waving her two big pale arms wildly in the air. "Look for yourself! Do I? Do I?"

Jiang Shu felt it, Sister Ruo’s arms and hands were still smooth, giving no sensation of sweatiness.

"At least take off your outer clothes," he sighed helplessly, looking at the jacket and long pants she was wearing.

"Oh." Liu Tingruo nodded very slowly, then tried to fight her way out of the jacket. She took her body out of the left side of the jacket and then failed at the step where she needed to flip over.

So she just lay flat without moving.

She patted the blanket with both paws to show she had tried.

"Help me." After a long while, she finally said in a weak voice.

"Ah." Jiang Shu sighed and leaned over, his whole body hovering above Sister Ruo. He supported himself with one hand near Liu Tingruo’s shoulder while pulling her hand out of the jacket with the other.

But suddenly, Liu Tingruo opened her eyes, which held none of the previous sleepiness but instead a drunken excitement.

She flipped over in one swift move, taking Jiang Shu’s place.

"..."

Now Jiang Shu was lying on the bed, looking bewilderedly at Sister Ruo’s flushed face just a few centimeters away.

Her hair naturally fell down, tickling his nose with a few strands.

"Gotcha." Liu Tingruo smirked slyly, her face spelling triumph as she winked and playfully pinched Jiang Shu’s face in retaliation.

"Hu—" However, it seemed this movement used up too much energy, and she let out a long breath.

A whiff of alcohol, intoxicatingly fragrant.

"What are you doing?" Jiang Shu swallowed, frowning slightly as he thought about getting up. "You’ve drunk too much."

Taking advantage of Sister Ruo in this state...

Was dishonorable.

Yes, very dishonorable.

"You chickened out again," Liu Tingruo shook her head provocatively, then suddenly pecked Jiang Shu on the lips before defiantly jutting out her chin, "What about this?"

"..." Jiang Shu took a deep breath to calm himself.

Liu Tingruo was being very strange this evening.

And her state was giving him a bad feeling.

"You’ve drunk too much, stop it," Jiang Shu shook his head, still making no further move.

"Tsk, what if... what about this?" Liu Tingruo flipped a lock of hair behind her ear, turning into a vision of seduction.

Then she pinched the long, wide-legged trousers covering her ankles and slowly pulled them up...

Revealing the black stockings she wore underneath.

"..."

Jiang Shu closed his eyes, knowing already that he couldn’t escape tonight.

I really did give you a chance.

He reached out and turned off the light.

Turn the Big Dipper upside down!

——

In the corner of the room, four Tablet Spirits sat in a circle with their heads propped up in their hands, an earnest expression on their faces.

The central little ones, Little Eight and Little Five, tried to fly up to see what was happening on the bed, but were immediately dragged down by Little Ding.

Little Ding put out his doughy hand in a shushing gesture.

They were having a heart-to-heart talk; do not disturb.

You get me?

——

Now it was six in the morning.

Liu Tingruo opened her eyes.

She hadn’t slept for too long, having woken up after just about three or four hours.

Although her eyes still showed fatigue, she was completely sober now.

She sat up very slowly and gently, examining the sleeping Jiang Shu beside her with a rarely seen tenderness in her gaze.

Liu Tingruo reached out a hand, intending to touch Jiang Shu’s face but ultimately not daring to.

She didn’t want to wake him.

After idly watching for a bit, Liu Tingruo got out of bed, stood up, and rubbed her slightly sore and slender waist.
