Chapter 231: Chapter 169: I’m Tired, Take Me Away_3
And his first reaction was that Liu Tingruo was up to no good, she wanted to kill him here!
But how dare she!
Looking at Liu Tingruo, Diller saw confusion in her eyes as well.
It wasn’t her doing?
But the next second, Diller understood exactly what was happening.
A figure gradually became visible, his entire body wrapped in blazing deep blue flames, his face obscured, his stature tall like a demon crawling out of Hell itself.
"Hmph," he snorted from his nostrils, flinging his hand and sending Diller tumbling across the floor with a force that made him roll over and over.
He could feel something hitting him in midair.
The impact was like being hit by a car.
"You... who exactly are you? Why are you here?!" Diller fell back onto the ground, his eyes filled with terror, the fiery figure before him completely beyond his comprehension.
"I am the lord of the Flame Demon, commanded by my master to protect Liu wholly," a mechanical, synthesized voice came from the throat of the Flame Demon. Flames continued to rise from his body and then spread to the ground and walls.
As the blue flames left the Flame Demon, they turned a fiery orange, burning the surrounding air into a blur and igniting everything combustible nearby.
Instantly, the room was engulfed in flames, the fiery orange filling the entire space, with heat waves striking at them.
The Flame Demon raised his left hand and then clenched it into a fist, and the fire abruptly went out.
"You..." Diller suddenly pulled out a sleekly designed laser pistol, firing several shots at the Flame Demon and gritting his teeth, "Die!"
The gun was custom-made for himself; he didn’t think there was any creature that could survive under its high-energy laser beams.
The Flame Demon in front of him had to be nothing more than a special robot or an external armor suit.
A black shield appeared in front of the Flame Demon, blocking all the laser beams.
"How is this possible!" Diller watched in shock.
But the Flame Demon did not stop there; he advanced slowly toward Diller, leaving behind footprints full of charred black ash with each step.
"You... you can’t kill me! If I die here, Liu Tingruo won’t get away with it!" Diller yelled frantically, scrambling up and rushing for the door.
Once outside, the security personnel would naturally protect him.
If he could just get out of here...
"Disable." The cold word spilled from the mouth of the Flame Demon.
With his command, Diller suddenly fell to the ground, feeling he had lost control over one of his legs.
What?
What was happening?
Diller tapped his leg, which normally was agile, but now it had no feeling whatsoever.
"If there’s a next time, death," said the Flame Demon in a guttural voice, grabbing Diller from behind. He whispered coldly in Diller’s ear before flinging him into the wall with force.
"Bang—" The wall let out a thunderous noise, a dip appearing on the metal-like wall as it caved.
Since Diller had extended his right hand in defense, the skin on his right arm had peeled off, revealing the mechanical arm underneath, which was now twisting at an eerie ninety degrees. Oil seeped from the joints and sparks flew.
The Flame Demon caught up and delivered a karate chop to his neck.
"Ah!" Diller cried out in pain, clutching his neck.
He had Mechanical Armor there, it wasn’t so easy to get hurt.
Yet that protection became his torment at this moment as the Flame Demon kept pounding his neck until the pain knocked him out.
"Hmph," another disdainful grunt came from the Flame Demon’s nostrils.
He turned back to look at Liu Tingruo, who was still in shock. He gave her a deep look with two pitch-black eye sockets and then vanished in a blink of an eye.
----
The one who took action was naturally Jiang Shu.
As he watched Liu Tingruo and Diller’s conversation from a third-person perspective, the more he listened, the more it felt off, and finally he couldn’t help but intervene.
To him, the dialogue sounded increasingly like some trashy Minotaur comic...
As a die-hard purist in love, how could he tolerate this?
If he weren’t worried that Diller dying in Sister Ruo’s room would cause her trouble, this guy would be dead today.
No, this wouldn’t do.
Invisible, Jiang Shu grew angrier as he thought about it and went over to kick Diller in the abdomen a few times.
After that, Diller completely passed out from the pain.
Jiang Shu turned to look at Sister Ruo, lost in thought, and didn’t move.
There probably wouldn’t be any issues in the Seventh District for the next few days, so he decided to stay by Sister Ruo’s side, otherwise he really couldn’t rest easy.
Wasn’t there a three-day consideration time mentioned?
Then he would just watch and see what would happen.
Moreover, it was only one night, and he still had many unanswered questions.
But suddenly, Liu Tingruo tentatively called out into the air, "Jiang Shu? Is it you?"
Jiang Shu’s figure suddenly stiffened.
Is Liu Tingruo...
How did she figure out it was him?
Wouldn’t she suspect it was one of her own subordinates?
No, Sister Ruo was very smart; she must be bluffing him.
Jiang Shu quietly stepped back, staring straight at Sister Ruo, trying to see something from the look in her eyes.
But Liu Tingruo’s gaze was determined, and she continued to say, "Jiang Shu, I know it’s you, and I know you haven’t left. I’ve turned off all the recording devices in this room. I’ll take care of the electronic devices on this man on the floor later."
"Come out. I have something to tell you, about the things you’ve been wanting to know." Her tone was very assertive.
Jiang Shu: "???"
So she really knew it was me?
So he reluctantly revealed his form, showing his face, "How did you know it was me?"
"It really is you!" Liu Tingruo suddenly smirked cunningly, "As expected, using the tone and language of a Prophet, it’s easy to catch a fish."
Jiang Shu: "..."
He disappeared again.
But Liu Tingruo slowly came over, her gaze searching for something in the air, but finding nothing.
Then, she opened her arms to the air.
She waited quietly for a few seconds, then felt an invisible body gently embrace her.
Soon after, Jiang Shu’s figure slowly appeared in front of her.
Liu Tingruo stared at him blankly, tracing the contours of his face with her eyes.
Stroke by stroke, very slowly.
After a while, she lowered her head and said softly, "I’m tired, take me away."
"To a place where no one knows us."
"I have a lot of money."
"You won’t have to make public appearances anymore."
"No need to perform, no need to participate in any variety shows."
"Let’s leave it at that."
