The Crown's Seduction -
Chapter 387: A Prank
Chapter 387: A Prank
Over the next few weeks, Nikolai and Mineah decided to once again go back to their new vacation cabin in the southern part of Valcrez that Nikolai recently had built for her. Mineah was firmly in the middle of sleep when she suddenly felt like she could do something else with her time. As if being torn away from her dreams, her body forced itself awake, her mind already awake as she turned to face her husband.
"Lai, wake up," she playfully said as she nudged him in his sleep. "Hey. Come on."
Nikolai mumbled in his sleep, and she couldn’t help but giggle as she felt herself getting bolder and bolder with her demands. Parting her nightdress, she used her bare body to rub herself up against him as she did her best to gently shake him awake.
"Come on, Lai," she eagerly teased, her hips grinding against his as she grinned. "The night’s still young enough for this."
To her surprise, her husband refused to wake up, which was weird since she assumed that he’d be the first person to wake up for even the slightest chance to have a round with her and her body. This was... highly unnatural.
"Lai..."
Mineah gave him another soft tap, but again, he refused to move. To her surprise, he was really out of it, still sleeping the night away as his body remained unmoving.
"Huh, this is a new one," she couldn’t help but chuckle despite her pouting. "Still, maybe there’s some fun to be had here..."
It was a rare chance, after all. Ever since she met Nikolai, never had she seen him sleep this deeply to the point of being incapable of waking up despite her best efforts. Usually, he was the one who was restless enough to wake her just to have a go at lovemaking, but it would seem that the tables had turned right noIt it was such a rare opportunity that she found herself no longer thinking about making love with him. That was something they could always do later anyway. Instead, she thought about everything she could do to him while he was asleep like this.
"What a rare opportunity I have," she hummed to herself as she tidied herself up. "What to do... What to do..."
A soft smile formed on her lips as she sat up on their bed. She was already awake anyway, so she might as well see if she could do something to try and prank her sleeping husband.
"There should be something in this cabin I can use..."
Standing up from bed, Mineah quietly walked around as she scoured the room for anything she could use to do something innocently deviant to her husband. Perhaps a writing implement to draw on his face would work? Or perhaps she could go for something elaborate and set up a trap for him so that when he woke up, he’d get doused with a splash of water?
"What’s even in this cabin anyway?"
She mumbled to herself as she found herself leaving the bedchamber. She made sure to leave the door partly open to keep the noise to a minimum as she roamed the cabin itself. While it was currently dark due to how early it was, she still managed to have a good look at what she had at her disposal. The kitchen was the easiest target, pots, and pans neatly tucked away as she stared at them with mischief in her eyes.
"Perhaps..."
With a thoughtful pout still on her face, Mineah grabbed the nearest pan she could find and filled it with a decent amount of water. It wouldn’t be much to drench Nikolai if she ever just decided to dump it all over him, but that wasn’t her intention anyway. She just wanted to play a prank on him, not make him too miserable due to a misplaced joke.
Carefully cradling the pan with her back to the room, Mineah gently opened the door as she-
"What are you doing?"
"AHH!"
Unfortunately for her, it would seem that fate had other plans as Nikolai unexpectedly greeted her the moment she opened the door. The surprise and shock she experienced from seeing him standing right in front of her was so great that she inadvertently shook the pan she was holding, causing the water in it to splash all over Nikolai’s face anyway.
Truly, if her husband wasn’t fully awake then, then he was fully awake now.
"Ah, I’m sorry," she quickly apologized even as the hilarity of the situation slowly overtook her guilt. "I was just-"
"Doing something?" Nikolai interrupted her with a faintly amused scoff. "Why do you even have a pan of water with you? Surely you weren’t planning on dumping it on me and drenching the bed, right?"
Mineah quickly averted her eyes as she lied, "Absolutely not."
"Then what was the pan for?" he challenged, his tone suggesting that he wasn’t buying her lies for even a second. "Surely you can come up with a better lie than that."
Blushing, she pouted as she replied, "You’re really going to make me spell it out? You clearly already know."
"Assume that I don’t," he chuckled, ignoring his current state as he remained standing in front of her. "Maybe I’ll let this slide if you make me laugh."
Narrowing her eyes, Mineah raised a brow at the challenge. "Fine then. I was here to water some of the plants in the room."
"A room where there are no plants," Nikolai pointed out with a smug grin. "Anything else-"
"I’m hungry for something specific."
Mineah did her best to remain nonchalant even as she cringed at her own excuse, her embarrassment making her go with it anyway despite how out of the blue it was. It wasn’t even a lie. She was indeed wanting something now, something that didn’t really come to her earlier with how distracted she was with her plans on pranking her husband.
Still, this might probably work in her favor in the end.
"Oh? And what does the water have to do with that?"
"It doesn’t," she admitted. "But seriously, I want something sweet."
"Why not sugar then?" he asked. "We have some honey in the kitchen that you can snack on if you want."
"That’s just boring," she scoffed. "Maybe we can go out into the nearby town and get something to eat?"
