The Crown's Seduction
Chapter 308: Missing You

Chapter 308: Missing You

Krisha sighed as she made her way back to the bedchamber she now shared with her husband Taro. While he wasn’t there at the moment, she perfectly understood Taro’s situation and how important the task their King had given him. Their Queen’s life was very important to her so she would also want Taro to ensure Lady Jayra’s safety.

"Still, this is kind of sad," she sighed to herself even as she let out a chuckle right after. "I would’ve thought that we’d get more time to ourselves, but I guess life just doesn’t work like that."

Truly, life had a weird sense of humor if it decided that someone who was just recently married like her had to sleep alone in her husband’s bed.

Letting out another sigh, Krisha opened the door to the bedchamber and walked right in. As she expected, no one was waiting for her return, allowing her to do whatever it was that she wanted as she casually stripped down to her underwear as soon as she closed the door.

"Not like anyone’s watching anyway..."

Humming to herself, Krisha went about her usual evening routine and washed up before going to sleep. She had already eaten her dinner, which meant that she had the rest of the evening to herself as she laid her head down on their bed.

"Another lonely night, it would seem," she sighed yet again as she stared at her ceiling. "And I can’t just try and talk to Taro too..."

Unfortunately for her, on top of Taro being too busy to see her, her husband was just too busy in general to even talk to her for a long time. Sure, she could always take the initiative to try and talk to her through their bond, but she really didn’t want to disturb him during his work. She would always just let him contact her first, and only then would she try to prolong the conversation.

Still, it wasn’t all bad. Despite her passive approach, Krisha actually got more than enough reminders from him throughout the day even if they couldn’t meet. He would usually ask her if she had already eaten or if she was already done with her work. He would even ask if she had a good nap whenever she took one. He was very thoughtful and she really loved it about him.

[Krisha...]

And speaking of which, it would seem that Taro was trying to see if she was already asleep. Not that she wasn’t about to, but just hearing his voice like this almost made her want to stay awake just to talk to him for longer.

[Taro,] she eagerly greeted with a hint of teasing. [I didn’t think you’d pop into my thoughts this late.]

[What do you mean? I always do this,] Taro scoffed, calling her out as he talked to her through their bond. [Anyway, I’m assuming you’re about to go to sleep?]

[Not anymore, what with you talking to me at the moment,] Krisha chuckled.

[Didn’t you have a busy day just now?] he questioned. [You must be tired.]

Krisha smirked as she lay in bed. Sure, she was tired, but talking to him like this was much more important than getting her beauty sleep. [I’d rather talk to you, you know. We rarely see each other as is.]

[Unfortunately,] he sighed. [Still, this will have to do for now. Until King Nikolai relieves me from my post, I’m afraid I can’t exactly leave.]

She frowned at that despite knowing how important her husband’s role was. Sometimes, she just wished that their king had someone more reliable to rely on other than Taro, but it seemed that her husband was the only person good enough in their king’s eyes to do exactly what had to be done.

[Unfortunate,] she sighed with him. [Well, at least you’re doing your duty.]

[That, indeed,] he lightly scoffed. [It’s the least I can do for His Majesty. We just have to be patient until the day that we can finally be together.]

Krisha warmly smiled at his words. She herself couldn’t wait to have Taro by her side again. She just knew that they’d be inseparable once it happened, and she was sure that she was going to be the target of Zaila’s teasing once the inevitable between her and Taro happened.

[Say, how are things going over there?] she casually asked. [How are things going there? Are you alright?]

[Nothing much of importance,] he casually replied. [All except missing you every single moment that I’m here.]

Krisha blushed. [That sounded cheesy.]

[It’s the truth,] Taro bluntly rebutted. [I can’t wait to be with you at every second of every minute. The work I’m doing here is important, sure, but it almost pales in comparison to my desire to be with you now, Krisha.]

Her face turned redder by the second the more she talked with her husband like this. To be honest, he wasn’t like this when they first met. In fact, he wasn’t even like this even back when they were about to get married. It almost seemed like he was actively trying to woo her, and to her delight, his words were actually getting to her.

[You’re really laying it on thick, Taro,] she teased despite her own feelings. [Though I’m not going to lie, I’m really missing you too.]

[That makes the two of us then,] he chuckled. [The moment we get some time together, I’ll make sure that we catch up on all the time we spent separated like this.]

[I’ll be looking forward to that then,] Krisha chuckled with a blush.

[You better,] he seductively chuckled. [Now, I should leave you to your rest. I’m sure you still have a lot of things to do tomorrow.]

Krisha smiled warmly to herself even as she felt Taro cut their connection. Either way, it was always like this every night. Before she knew it, she would probably dream about him again just like last time, and she would enjoy every second of it.
