Chapter 259: Wash You Up
Chapter 259: Wash You Up
Mineah only watched as Haman was gruesomely executed before her. She then found herself staring at her husband.
This was the first time she saw Nikolai in such a way that just looking at him could invoke fear in your entire being. It wasn’t his usual and unbothered demeanor. Instead, this was a portrayal of someone that was ruthless and merciless against his enemies. The message was clear, and Mineah hoped that after this incident none of the Clans would ever want to try something like this again.
"Lady Sage just took the Exordium blood and its venom from Haman, right?" Dani whispered from behind her. "Wouldn’t that make her more powerful than the rest of the Exordiums?"
"Yes," Mineah muttered even as her eyes turned to Nikolai. None would ever surpass her husband though, who automatically absorbed a pure Exordium’s power whenever they died.
Or at least, that was what Nikolai told her... what the Mark of Eternity truly symbolized. Whenever an Exordium died, the chosen one harboring the Mark of Eternity would automatically absorb their powers. As such, inside Nikolai’s body were the powers of his father, his Aunt Vania, and four more Exordiums from the other Clans that died because of the dragon souls years ago.
No one was aware of it except for the former King Arturo who also harbored the Mark of Eternity, and Nikolai’s mother Rania. And now, she herself knew of it, and that was what explained that feeling inside of her when she had this urge to get more energy from Nikolai before... It was a strong feeling like no other, and her chaos wanted it.
Mineah let out a deep sigh as she started picking up more pieces of the puzzle about her curse. Still, nothing was certain. In Seer Beirut’s vision, he saw her holding the divine dagger with blood on it, and before her was Nikolai who was bleeding from his chest. His interpretation was as simple as it looked. She had supposedly stabbed Nikolai, but Mineah refused to believe that it was the whole picture of that unclear vision.
But just as she had finished ruminating, she found herself holding onto her chest and closing her eyes. There was this sudden tightness inside her chest, and it was getting quite hard for her to breathe.
"Milady, are you alright?" Dani asked her.
Mineah opened her eyes, and she saw Nikolai turn his gaze to her. She gave him her sweetest smile, and in that instant, he swept her off her feet as they traveled in his mist form back to the confines of their own private bathroom inside their bedchamber.
Mineah frowned at her husband and asked, "Why are we here? Why did you just leave like that?"
Nikolai chuckled. "I have Abel and Fritz to lead the clean up of it all," he explained as he caressed her cheek and chin. "The two of us have both had a long day."
Mineah looked around, making sure they were really inside the bathroom before she asked with wrinkled brows, "Why here?"
"Well, I will personally wash you up since it’s been a long day and we both need cleaning up after everything that happened," Nikolai muttered with a frown. "I don’t want a single scent of those bastards to be left on you after all of this."
Mineah chuckled, and she was no longer surprised when she suddenly found herself standing naked in front of him. He had seemingly already used his magic before carrying her and putting her inside their big tub, which left her naked before her body even touched the water.
"Seriously though, did you really have to leave like that in front of everyone just so we can do this?" she reasoned. "Wouldn’t it have been best for you to stay there? At least for a while?"
She was pretty sure that the Rossi Clan was in a panic at this point, but it would seem that her husband was absolutely sure of orchestrating this perfect plan.
If she recalled, Teresa Rossi was the only daughter of Minister Rory Rossi.
If she was right, Nikolai had this precise point planned ahead, which was why he wanted her to make sure that the ladies from the Rossi and Wagner Clans would stay close to her to the point of also having them wear the same masquerade outfit that she did in the festival prior their kidnapping.
Of course, Nikolai was simply testing the waters then. But as they expected... Haman was too impatient to try to get a hold of her all for himself. And now he was dead.
She smiled as she looked at her cunning husband who was currently calmly stripping before her as slowly as he could.
Mineah clicked her tongue as she snorted, "Why are you moving so slow? It’s as if you’re trying to torture me with your perfect body."
Nikolai gave her a roguish smile as he quickly dipped himself in the tub and joined her. He gently moved as he started washing her hair with some of the herbs and flowers present in the room. All the while, Mineah let him wash her entire body as she thought to herself. She was in deep thought, and eventually, she couldn’t help but ask him something.
"What if someone just desires me like Haman, but they didn’t commit crimes at all?" she hypothetically stated. "Would they be punished too?"
"Desiring my wife is already a sin since it’s coveting someone’s wife..." Nikolai firmly stated. "Whether in action or in their mind, it’s already a sin punishable by my own hands."
Before she could even reply, Mineah bit her inner lip as her husband started stroking her private parts with the notion of washing them cleanly.
"Today, you showed them how scary you can be," Mineah hummed in between her soft moans. "Do you think the Rossi Clan will stop now, and that this incident will also somehow shake the Wagner Clan to submission?"
"I’m not sure, Mine. But one thing I’m sure of is that I only gave them this warning because it would be a different case once I started threatening them..." Nikolai firmly stated. "I will not show mercy to anyone who would dare try to harm you, Mine. They will all meet the same gruesome fate if they do so."
Mineah was speechless. Nevertheless, she smiled warmly as she started wrapping her arms around his neck. His simple touches were enough for her to be ready for him to take her right there and then she didn’t even mind that she just watched the most gruesome death that she had ever witnessed just minutes prior.
At the very least, one case was solved after all of this. Haman was now out of the picture, and while she knew they still had more things to do after this, it was at least one less thing to worry about.
"For now, let’s just take this time to focus on each other, Lai," she murmured as she lovingly clung onto him and let her husband take the lead.
