Chapter 243: Haman’s Malice-Filled Thoughts

Haman stayed with his usual boring work inside the Hall of Justice. There was nothing fun about it, especially with his mind currently distracted by how that bastard Nikolai was having a blast feeding on his wife’s heavenly blood during last night’s full moon. They weren’t back in the palace this morning, and he could only wonder how long they would be gone until they returned.

In fact, the moment he received news that they were back, Haman quickly vanished from his own office and appeared in the hallways where the Queen was walking together with Dahlia and her shadow maidens.

With a wide smile, he approached them without a care in the world. "My Queen, a pleasant evening." he greeted with a curt bow. He then looked at the ladies with her and gave them a nod as well. "Ladies."

"A pleasant evening, Lord Haman," the Queen greeted back.

Haman did his best to control himself as walked closer to the Queen. She just smelled so pleasant, and for someone gifted with a superb sense of smell like him, he could smell the Queen’s divine and heavenly blood so easily that she didn’t even need to be wounded for him to get a whiff of her.

That was truly when his lust for her started, not because of her ethereal beauty, but because her scent was like no other. It was so strong that he wouldn’t let a day last without getting at least enough distance near her just to smell her scent. But of course, he had to be very careful about it, so he didn’t dare come near her unless he had a good alibi to do so.

"I would like to visit Lady Dahlia, but I wasn’t allowed unless granted permission by Her Majesty," Haman informed her.

"Ah, that’s right. Ever since the incident with Lady Dani and Chancellor Abel..." Mineah trailed off before answering her with a polite smile. "You see... I became quite strict with my ladies-in-wanting in that I no longer allow them to be alone with any man."

"But I need her regarding the case of her so-called death years ago. She needs to be questioned so that this investigation can move as quickly as possible," Hamon reasoned with a cheeky smile. "We need to bring justice for His Majesty, after all, and finding Rosela’s accomplices will do just that. Though, if only to ease you of your worries, you can have someone escort Lady Dahlia during her questioning."

’I want to have a taste of Dahlia, so she has to come alone. She can just send one of her hand servants to accompany her. It would be easy to hypnotize and compel them. It’s not like the Queen will come with her to look after her. After all, she’s a Nephilim, so hypnosis and compulsion wouldn’t work on her.’

Hamon intentionally gave away that thought as he tested the waters... Nimue had informed him of her possible abilities as a Nephilim, so he was sure that their Queen had one or even more of them... One of them was reading someone’s thoughts, and surely she had that specific one.

"Please send a formal request regarding this matter, Lord Haman," the Queen stated with a curt nod. "I will personally accompany Lady Dahlia to the interview and cooperate for this investigation to reach its end." She then turned around as she finished, "For now, I must excuse myself since I still have things to attend to together with my ladies-in-waiting."

"Go ahead, My Queen," Haman curtly replied as he gave way for her to walk past him. As she passed, he couldn’t help but breathe in the air that accompanied her. He stood still as he ogled at her back. He was salivating, and he was growing impatient at Nimue’s slow preparation of his plans to abduct her.

He had a smirk as he had one last swift fulfilling whiff of her scent. He even licked his lips as his mouth drooled just at the thought of his fang sinking deep into every part of her body. Even taking her as his woman and having her all for himself was already giving him precum.

Haman whistled as he turned around, enjoying all the lewd thoughts in his head that he was sure would soon become reality as he went back to what he was doing.

Unknown to him, a pair of deadly eyes were already keenly observing his every movement...

Meanwhile, Mineah wanted to vomit the moment she read Haman’s malice-filled thoughts. Laura sent her a report of her investigation already, and her shadow maiden was led to the conclusion that Haman was behind everything since she discovered his connections to this warlock Nimue whom Rosela had colluded with.

From the start, Whenever she would read Haman’s mind, he would think of nothing but him having his way with her body and blood. He was so drawn to her... And now, it looked like he was also trying to prey on Dahlia.

Once they finally reached the safety of the protective spells of their residence, Mineah turned to Dahlia and went straight to the point. "Haman is a dangerous man, Dahlia," she warned. "Don’t ever meet or talk to him alone. I’ll assign one of Nikolai’s Scion to look after you."

"No, please. That won’t be necessary," Dahlia reassured her. "I promise that I’ll never get near him. Besides, I don’t have any plans of getting out of this residence alone anyway."

Mineah was caught off-guard by Dahlia’s reaction. So much so that she quickly went ahead and read her thoughts.

’It would be awkward having someone else looking after me, especially once Zoran visits me again...’

Mineah gulped as she understood the level of privacy Dahlia wanted. "Alright. I’ll let you do what you want then. Just make sure that you’ll tell the others if you need to go out," she nodded in response. "Also, please inform me whenever you do so as well so that we can assign someone to act as your security."

She then took a deep breath as she added, "Let me just tell you now so that you can understand: Haman could be behind Nimue, the warlock Rosela contacted to cast the dark spell on Nikolai so that he wouldn’t be able to control himself that full moon when he drained you of your blood." She then looked straight into Dahlia and compelled her, "You must not tell this information about Haman to anyone, even if someone compels you."

"I understand, Your Majesty..." Dahlia answered.

Satisfied with her manipulation, Mineah cut off her connection with Dahlia. She should at least understand the situation well, and she must be informed closely so that she knows who she should be wary of.
