Chapter 112: Hot and Bothered

Mineah bit her lower lip as the familiar sensation of pleasure coursed inside her body. She was about to move to face him, but he steadied her instead as he wrapped his arms possessively around her waist.

She felt his breath and lips brush against her skin. "Just stay like this for a while..." he hummed into her ear as she felt his hug tighten around her as if he was afraid she’d break free from it.

"I... I’m so blissful that I’m able to embrace you like this right now, Mine. You don’t know how much I missed you," Nikolai muttered. "It feels like hell not seeing you around... Not being near you like this..."

Her breath hitched as his lips began kissing her bare shoulder blades. Goosebumps appeared all over her skin at that simple gesture. It was too much, and her stomach felt like there were butterflies fluttering inside it.

Trying to calm herself, she scoffed, "So unfair. I want to embrace you too!"

"I... I feel like I’ll lose control if you face me and embrace me back, Mine," Nikolai chuckled as he justified himself. "I might end up crushing your lips with mine to the point that it might lead to something more."

"And?"

Mineah couldn’t help but scoff as she retorted. The two of them were already lawfully wedded in the eyes of both their kingdoms and of the Heavens. What reason did they even have for them to wait for so long?

It was then that she felt like a bucket of ice washed over her whole body. Right, maybe it wasn’t just because of the Midnight Sun waiting... There was also the fact that she was still a cursed woman, and Nikolai didn’t love her yet to claim her. He could still end up dying if they...

"Hmm, alright. I really don’t mind traditions, and I’m dying to have you, Mine," he hummed. "So don’t sto-"

"No!" she firmly denied as she gripped his arms to stop him. Then, when she felt him loosen his grip, she did her best to let him go.

"Mine?"

"We can’t yet... Let’s wait a bit more, Lai," Mineah murmured with a pout. "Hugging like this will do for now. And besides, you don’t have long to stay here, right? They’ll soon notice you’re not around and put the pieces together. The officials also know I’m here."

She then found herself imagining the fact that her curse could very well kill him. All of a sudden, she was scared of having to lose Nikolai...

Having seemingly detected her distress, Nikolai turned her around to face him. He was frowning as he gently cupped her cheek. "What’s wrong, Mine?" he worriedly asked, his eyes staring closely at hers.

Seeing his intensity, Mineah let out a smile that only turned crooked after a while. Nikolai’s frown deepened at that.

Letting out a sigh, she did her best to explain herself. "I mean, your words are implying that we’ll end up consummating our marriage sooner or later, right?" she shrugged.

"It’s just that I suddenly thought of my curse relating to that. I don’t want you to die, Lai. Let me remind you that this curse will only end if you fall in love with me first, so let’s wait until you fall in love with me."

Nikolai blinked at her and asked, "You really can’t read my thoughts, do you?" This question was related to what happened last night. For some reason, both of them went in circles since he still couldn’t believe how she could read everyone’s thoughts except for his.

"I already put my guard down against mind readers, so how..." Nikolai trailed off.

This time, it was Mineah who blinked at her husband. ’Was that why he’s staring at me so intently?’ she wondered. ’He thinks that I’m reading his mind?’

"I tried already, but there’s still nothing, Lai," she pouted. "You’re a blank abyss from the moment I first tried reading your thoughts..."

Her lips still pouting, she raised her brows as she complained, "And why would you even rely on my mind-reading ability to have me know your thoughts?" She grumbled, "Just be vocal about it to me. Say all the words you want, even if it’ll hurt me in th-."

Mineah’s words were cut off when Nikolai’s lips suddenly slammed against hers. He was hungrily kissing her, and it felt like he wasn’t just doing it to silence her from nagging him. Despite their position, she could sense a pent-up need from him just from the ravishing kiss that he was giving her.

Letting herself be swept up by his actions, Mineah closed her eyes as she subconsciously wrapped her arms around his neck to balance her footing. His intense kiss always had a tendency to make her knees wobble, and it wouldn’t do for her to fall now.

But in spite of it all, it felt so good having his lips pressing against hers like this. He was so thirsty for her, and her lips almost felt like they might end up swollen if he kept up with his constant suckling.
