The Bride Of Immortal Crown Prince -
Chapter 68: Deserves to be Beheaded
Chapter 68: Deserves to be Beheaded
"Your Highness..." A middle-aged woman with large stature and gray bun hair stood in front of the door while slightly bowing, waiting for the Crown Prince to give her an order. She is the castle Housekeeper, Mrs. Pepper.
"Mrs. Pepper, I need you to clean Lady Allynna’s body and change her clothes into her nightgown. Do it gently. She’s wounded..." His voice was low, but there was a hint of sadness and anger in his tone.
Hearing the Crown Prince’s voice made Mrs. Pepper stunned. During her stay in this castle, it was the first time she had seen the expression of sadness His Highness was experiencing now.
"And please be careful with her wounds. Don’t make it worst." Leon spoke again without taking his eyes from Allynna’s still motionless body on the bed.
After a few seconds, Leon finally has the strength to leave her. He walked out of her room. And the moment he closed the door behind him, he saw Goeffrey appear near the corner.
Apparently, Goeffrey has been waiting for him but hiding from his sight in the corner since he arrived.
After closing the door gently, Leon walked to the big glass window looking far into the forest without glancing or speaking at Geoffrey. Right now, he tried to calm his mind and heart, which was ready to explode at any moment. He couldn’t describe how angry and sad he was.
He almost lost this girl again... In the past, she was kidnapped and separated for a dozen years. After he found her, that damn monster almost took her life? This scared him so much. He doesn’t know how to face this life alone without her.
Leon closed his eyes. He was trying to divert his mind so he could think rationally.
After some time...
"Geoffrey, Darren will be arriving at the lake soon. Go pick him up and bring him here as fast as you can. And, ask My Fiance servant and the guard to report to me, now!" Leon said in his low tone.
Geoffrey, who heard it, felt his whole body suddenly freeze, with respect he said, "Your highness, I will fetch Lord Gilwynn now..." Geoffrey said, then quickly stepped back and ran towards the lake.
From afar, Leon could hear two footsteps approaching up to the second floor. Through their thoughts, he could know they are the guard and behind him is Allynna’s servant.
Their steps stop a few meters from him.
Lella, standing behind the guard, immediately knelt down with sobs when she saw the Crown Prince back facing her.
"Y-Your H-highness... I deserved to die. Please punish me now that I have neglected to look after Lady Allynna." Her voice trembled and was barely audible because she was so frightened by what she had just experienced.
Lady Allynna suddenly disappeared from the last place she saw her. There was only a basket of their lunch lying on the ground. She and the guard searched around the path, but they couldn’t find her. They ran towards the peak, but Lady Allynna wasn’t there either. The two of them searched with all their might to find her, but after a few minutes of searching, they couldn’t find any trace of her.
Until they hear the voice of the crown prince in their minds and ask them to return to the castle.
Since then, they don’t know what happened to Lady Allynna. And whether she has been found or not.
Since coming down from the peak, Lella’s mind and heart seemed numb. She didn’t know what to say or do. She felt she had lost all senses in her body.
No one spoke to her. Even when she asked Sir Geoffrey, he said nothing. He only said that His Highness wanted to see her. She was so scared. Afraid that something bad happens to Lady Allynna. If she has to, she was willing to sacrifice her life for Lady Allynna so she could be found. Right now, she really felt like she had failed to keep her task. She deserves to be beheaded.
Leon heard everything that was on Lella’s mind, and he could only take a deep sigh. He will take care of this little servant once his fiancee awakens.
At the same time, Leon hears the plea from the guard, who now kneels down and wishes for his death. Leon is aware this guard does the right thing as instructed. If they didn’t immediately report to the head of the guard, maybe by now, Allynna would have died with her soul being sucked in by the Red Eyes Monster.
After a few minutes of silence, Leon finally turned his body to look at two people still kneeling with their foreheads touching the floor.
"Rise!" He said in a low and icy voice. He saw a guard and Lella raise their heads slowly without daring to look at his face. They were just staring at his feet.
Leon stepped forward slowly with his hands behind his back before saying, "You two can leave now..." His tone was flat. He didn’t sound angry with them.
He will deal with them later.
Now he will focus on his fiance’s condition. He walks to Allynna’s bedroom. When he saw Mrs. Pepper finish changing Allynna’s gown, he asked her to leave the room.
Now, Leon is standing near Allynna’s bed. He looked at her clean body in a long night white gown that covered her body up to her ankles. Her dark blonde hair spread on the pillow neatly and cleanly.
Her face was still as white as snow with the scars that had been cleaned. Leon can see her shoulder has been bandaged to stop the blood as first aid. Likewise, her feet are clean, but many scars are still visible. For the umpteenth time, he took a deep breath trying to calm the anger that welled up inside of him.
Meanwhile, at the edge of the forest near the lake,
Lord Darren Gilwynn appears. He saw Geoffrey had been waiting for him at the dock near the boat. He moved Flash to the dock and hopped in the boat without wasting time.
"My Lord..." Geoffrey greeted him politely.
"What happened? Why did the Crown Prince suddenly summon me?" Darren asks with a frown.
