The Bride Of Immortal Crown Prince -
Chapter 140: Brave
Chapter 140: Brave
Everyone in the room also looked at Emperor Aolis.
Aolis was surprised why his father suddenly looked at him as if he was the one who changed the rules. He didn’t even know they were allowed to marry at age seventeen.
"Father! Why are you looking at me like that? And what should I do? The rules are made by you. Not me..." Aolis confused.
"It all started with you, my son." Leovaris slightly chuckled before continuing, "Have you forgotten what happened when you turned seventeen?"
Aolis’s face turned red when he heard his father’s words. How could he forget the unfortunate event in his life?
"Alright, Alright... I understand!" He stood from his chair. Walking to the open window, trying to hide his irked-looking face. After a moment, he turned back to see his father again, "Now, tell me what I should do to clean up your mess.... NO, I mean, my mess?"
Aolis’s words make everyone in the room surprised, and at the same time, they are all confused.
What exactly happened?
But the elders and Aolis are not saying anything.
Leovaris slowly looked at his son before answering, "Let them marry...."
"But, the rules?" Aolis asks with frowns
Leovaris lost his words. Had his son lived so long that his way of thinking became like Sloths?
Just as Leovaris was about to answer his son, Flint Moon spoke first,
"Your Majesty, why bother to ask again!? You can change it. No one will stop you because you are the ruler of this Great Empire." Flint Moon can’t hold anymore. He answers Aolis with a soft tease.
Aolis still stood where he was without saying any words. But by looking at his eyes, people can tell that he was exasperated. He glanced at his wife. Her face was flushed. He was aware his wife must blame herself too because their past is related to these new rules.
"Wife, it’s not your fault. But it’s my fault! Let me correct everything...." He said to Clavelina through his mind. Aolis can see his wife feel a little better when she smiles at him.
Then, Aolis turned his gaze to his son. He was astonished because he saw a rare occurrence. His son was looking at Allynna with a smile framing his face. Aolis can see, his son looks so madly in love with his fiance.
He is utterly speechless now. His stubborn son will never change his decision. There is no other way but to permit this lovebird to get married sooner. So as not to tarnish Allynna’s name. He didn’t want his daughter-in-law to be the talk of everyone in the Empire.
After all, the rule to marry at the age of 18 was made by his father. It was because he wanted to punish him. The law has been around for hundreds of years, but now it will be ended because his own son is against it. Aolis could only take a deep breath as this rule was about to end.
Now, Aolis came back to his seat. He looked at his wife beside him and gently caressed her back before he turned his gaze to his soon daughter-in-law,
"Allynna!" Aolis’ deep and soft voice echoed in the room. Allynna gasped in surprise when she heard His Majesty’s call her name. She immediately looked at him with confused looking eyes.
Aolis continues, "I know my son really wants to marry you. But, I want to know your opinion about this marriage. Are you going to get married yourself at a young age? Or are you willing to do it because of pressure from my son? If he forces you to do that, you can tell me, so I can help you scold him...."
Allynna speechless. No one forced her, alright! She is willing if Leon wants it.
"Your Majesty! How could you ask my fiance something like that? I will never force her to marry me!" Leon instantly stood from his seat, looking into his father’s shining golden eyes, which stared back at him. His father’s words made him offended.
Not only was Leon shocked, but everyone in the room was shocked. They did not think His Majesty would ask such a question. They are now looking at Leon, who is currently looking at his father emotionally.
"Your Highness, please calm down...." Allynna reached out her hand, holding Leon’s arm, and pulled him back to sit down. Leon turned around to look at her. He felt a little bit calm when he saw her clear jade-like eyes looking at him. He took a deep sigh before he followed her request.
"Leon, I will answer His Majesty honestly. Don’t worry, you are the only person I respect so much in this room. Because I’ve known you longer from all the people here, not even my parents." Allynna said through her mind. Only the two of them and Leovaris could hear.
Leon was surprised to hear what she said. He immediately felt relieved and tried to subdue his fuming heart and pampering his eyes saw his fiancé’s beaming face. He was never satisfied with just a glimpse of it.
Leovaris could only chuckle softly when he heard Allynna’s thoughts. She is different. She dared to say what was on her mind.
"Your Majesty!" Allynna looked Aolis right into his eyes, "I will answer your question honestly." Suddenly the room became silent again.
All eyes were on Allynna, who previously seemed quiet and didn’t talk much, but now she turned into a brave woman. She even dared to look the Emperor in the eye. They are all astonished by this view.
"The first time I met His Highness, he immediately asked me to marry him. At that time, I didn’t know his status as crown prince. I just knew he was a normal man from an ordinary family. In my eyes, he is not a bad person but a man who can give me protection when I need it. So I agree with his sudden proposal..." Allynna explained her first encounter with Leon at the principal Pearcy office.
