Chapter 241: Chapter 209 Reattachment

Familiar sensation.

When Lind used the Lost Soul Chains to connect himself with the Flying Dragon, he was able to convey his thoughts, and the Flying Dragon could respond.

The emotions about to erupt, including anger, pain, appeasement, and more.

So, it came as a surprise when he felt that familiar sensation from the centipede’s antennae. Something inside the insect hive was controlling the movements of the bugs, and the method it used was identical to that of the Lost Soul Chains.

Lind thrust the Broken Sword into the body of the centipede and gripped the hilt to anchor himself.

Chains swiftly burrowed out from the sword and himself, enveloping the centipede’s head, particularly those twin antennae, wrapping the front half into an iron sphere.

The entity’s control over the "signals" wasn’t strong, probably because it had too many things to control, which let Lind successfully snatch the opportunity to take the centipede.

After being struck, the centipede fell from a great height.

It struggled for a few moments before bouncing back up, its many legs proving to be enormously effective. And under Lind’s orders, this "new master" who had thrust a sword into its body, charged haphazardly into the already shattered insect hive.

In comparison to the clumsy Flying Dragon, the centipede’s twisting and winding body moved through the hive like a fish in water, its continually turning tunnels allowing it to run even faster than a straight and flat highway.

It knocked over countless bugs that surged forward trying to block its path.

Lind squinted forward, the flames bursting from his body not only dispelled the darkness but also drove away the bugs trying to close in.

Meanwhile, the scorching flames forced the centipede running beneath him to speed up due to the pain.

Densely packed, ahead only densely packed bugs, they piled onto each other like small hills, or like lushly growing branches of trees, spreading their limbs and swaying in the dim space, using the light from the Flying Dragon’s flames to cast long shadows, attempting to overwhelm Lind.

The centipede managed to fling these annoyances away; no bugs could successfully approach.

All the way deeper, until suddenly there were fewer bugs ahead.

On the white chitinous stairs, the centipede stepped on the shed grey-white shells and successfully reached a spacious area.

Just like every time the centipede had come here before, its demeanor suddenly became respectful.

This emotion stemmed from the part that Lind could sense from the antennae.

The centipede involuntarily slowed down, and Lind also felt a conflicting tug-of-war over the signals between the Lost Soul Chains and the centipede’s antennae.

Looking ahead, there was only one figure.

A humanoid monster.

The upper body was a woman, unclothed, with pale skin.

Her left eye was nearly human-like, but the right eye socket took up half of her face, crowded with multiple eyeballs crammed into that massive socket. As Lind approached riding the huge centipede, the eyeballs in her socket moved together like a dozen eggs clinking in the same glass.

Her lower body was that of bugs, composed of parts of spiders, scorpions, and other arthropods, and the method of combination was not particularly clever, full of stitches and seams.

She was clearly the controller of this insect hive.

Clutching the Broken Sword, Lind suddenly pressed down, driving the sword deeper into the centipede’s body as he exerted force, and with a twist of his wrist, the sword turned half a circle inside the centipede.

The centipede collapsed to the ground and began convulsing, becoming motionless after he pulled out the Broken Sword.

Flames erupted inside the body of the centipede, which had been charred inside, and it never managed to mount a violent resistance before death.

The pathfinder’s fate was doomed to be only a dead end.

Lind dragged his sword step by step towards the Queen. The creature before him didn’t possess a powerful aura; such things seemed to have no connection with the Supernatural Power. They merely chopped off powerful parts of a creature and attached them to their own bodies to gain grand strength.

A very twisted way of using magic.

The Queen watched Lind in silence and, as he approached, she opened her arms voluntarily and showed a smile of relief.

Lind grinned, lifting the Broken Sword high, and viciously chopped down.

She was so forward, not swinging his sword would make him seem unkind.

The signal was confirmed to be coming from the body of the Queen Bug in front of him, so there was no need to think too much. Hidden reasons didn’t matter; cutting off the control of the swarm was more important.

He hadn’t forgotten that his soldiers were bravely fighting back.

Should he let his own people face greater danger because of a moment of compassion? Don’t be ridiculous! Of course, he should kill all the enemies.

After thoroughly winning the battle, he would have ample time to investigate the hidden reasons, or shed some tears for a pitiful person. He believed that his emotions would explode powerfully when necessary, but on the battlefield, it’s kill or be killed.

Keep your sympathy for after the victory.

The Queen’s feet burst out with astonishing jumping power, the sewn bug limbs slightly bent, followed by pure explosion.

The ground trembled slightly.

Lind, who had never mastered the "Rune Messenger" techniques of power release, used to move in the same pure brute force way during his leaps; the stronger the body, the longer the jump.

The technique is aptly named: Flying Bricks.

The Hive Queen leaped back like a giant grasshopper, dodging Lind’s relentless heavy chop.

The ground exploded into a crater under the impact of the Broken Sword, and the accumulated flames burst out in the sword crater, sending out streams of orange-yellow fierce flame.

The Queen looked at Lind with infuriated embarrassment; she probably couldn’t understand why a man would attack a woman who seemed to be suffering, without even asking a question.

"I thought you really wouldn’t move," Lind’s body burst into flames, the force from his back propelling him rapidly towards her.

Her strength was immense and her speed was fast, but unfortunately, she knew no magic nor did she possess any Supernatural Power.

If she had possessed Supernatural Power, Lind couldn’t imagine how terrifying it would be. If she became a Rune Messenger, who could dodge her assassination?

The Queen’s physical condition was strong; she didn’t always dodge Lind’s attacks. She supported her body with four legs while lifting the other four to launch an attack on Lind, like four long spears thrusting rapidly.

Lind felt as if he was not facing a stitched bug but fighting with four tireless Senior Grand Knights with spears, and withstanding four spear tips with a single sword was somewhat overwhelming.

After several exchanges, Lind’s body was pierced with several bloody holes, but his face showed no trace of fear. Heart stoppage, deafness, critical injuries—it was all child’s play.

The Queen was about to seize a gap in Lind’s defense to sneak attack with her fifth leg.

Suddenly, a rumbling noise came from above.

The massive white chitinous top was heavily struck, breaking open a large hole.

Flame Tumor Alex had pinpointed Lind’s location; he successfully bored a hole through the top and peered inside.

Upon seeing Lind, he immediately opened his mouth and breathed out flames without hesitation.

The interior of the Hive Hall was completely covered in flames, nothing but surging orange-yellow and intensely rising hot currents, and nothing else.
