Harlow watched her, unimpressed, before letting out a long, exaggerated yawn. "...Oh no... What ...ever... shall I do with all of this life-changing information, dear sister?" She lazily rubbed her eyes, as if barely staying awake.

The way Claudia’s face twisted in rage was almost comical. Her nostrils flared, her lips curled, and then, before Harlow could blink, Claudia lunged towards her.

A flash of silver. A dagger.

But Harlow had been ready.

She sidestepped with ease, the blade slicing through empty air where her chest had been just moments ago. Claudia, caught off guard by the miss, stumbled forward slightly, and that was all the opportunity Harlow needed.

With a sharp swing, she smacked Claudia’s hand with her purse, knocking the dagger right out of her grip. The weapon clattered into the darkness.

Claudia barely had time to register her loss before... WHAM!

Harlow’s purse struck her square across the face. Harlow was both shocked and angry at her sister’s action. She didn’t expect anything less though, these people had killed her in her past life, and she would never forgive them for it.

"You actually tried to stab me?" Harlow’s voice was eerily calm, her body vibrated with anger as she struck her again, harder this time. Claudia stumbled back, her hand flying to her cheek, eyes wide with disbelief.

"You crazy bitch!" Claudia shrieked her eyes moistening, but before she could recover, Harlow lifted her dress slightly, freeing her legs, and charged towards her. This was for killing her Alex, this was for hurting her, this was for everything she has done to her. If only these people knew she was a dead hurt woman who has been given a second chance at life.

She grabbed Claudia by the hair and yanked her forward, sending her off balance. "You think you can just kill me?" Harlow hissed, her nails digging into Claudia’s scalp. "You think I’d let you?"

Claudia screamed, clawing at Harlow’s hands, but Harlow was already moving. She slammed her knee into Claudia’s stomach, making her double over with a choked gasp.

Not satisfied, Harlow grabbed her sister’s collar and threw her to the ground. Claudia hit the floor hard, gasping as the air was knocked from her lungs. Left for Harlow, she would have used that dagger to split her stomach just as she did to Alex’s. Her little boy deserved none of that from her evil step-sister.

Harlow didn’t stop beating her.

She pounced, straddling Claudia before landing a solid punch to her face. Then another. And another.

"You tried to kill me!" Punch!

"You lied to everyone!" Punch!

"You ruined my life!" Punch! Punch! Punch!

Claudia’s screams turned into weak whimpers as she tried to shield her face. Her once-perfect hair was a tangled mess, her dress wrinkled, and her lip was already swelling.

"Stop..." she sobbed, voice trembling. "Stop, please... Harlow, I’m sorry..."

Harlow did stop this time.

She breathed heavily, her hands still clenched into fists. Then, with a small, satisfied smirk, she patted Claudia’s bruised cheek. "Oh, what’s the matter, dear sister? Not so fun when you’re the one bleeding, is it?"

Claudia didn’t answer. She was too busy coughing, her body shaking from the sheer force of Harlow’s assault.

Harlow stood, fixing her dress like she hadn’t just delivered the beating of the century. "Next time," she said sweetly, "make sure you actually know how to use a weapon before trying to kill someone."

And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving Claudia in a pathetic heap on the floor.

"Help me." Claudia cried out for anyone. Not only were her cheeks swollen, but her stomach hurt so badly and she was bleeding already. Harlow hadn’t just beat her to pulp, she had also caused her sister a miscarriage.

When Harlow arrived by the car, Alanis stepped out to open the door for her. Grandma Hamilton had already fallen asleep in the back there.

"What took you so long I was about to come there," Alanis said like a protective father, but Harlow neither responded nor reacted to his words. She only stepped inside the car and he drove off.

"Who did this to you, who did this to my child?" Elisa cried out staring at her daughter with Frank behind her. The once powerful man now looked so weak and sick. He could barely even stand for long anymore.

Maybe just once Harlow was right. Maybe he’s being poisoned because the doctors say they can’t find a single thing wrong with him, yet with every passing hour his body deteriorates like the California poppy.

Maybe he should stop his morning teas. At first, when Harlow spoke about poisoning, he thought it was another scheme of hers, but his health hasn’t been good since he didn’t listen. He had ignored so many warnings from his dear daughter.

First, he refused to let her work in his company, reducing her to nothing but the Hamilton’s have accepted her and so far, she has been able to solve their issues effortlessly from what he heard. Harlow was growing that company barely one week after her appointment.

And his company? Any day now, he can collapse and even die and there will be no one left to handle his empire. An empire Harlow’s mother had worked for.

Elisa has been moving strangely, according to the butler, inviting different me into his mansion every now and then. Frank doesn’t have the strength to argue with her else, he would have stopped it. He has successfully destroyed the family he thought he was trying to protect.

He stared at the unconscious Claudia on the bed and then sighed. No one dared touch Frank Blackwood’s child so who had dared to hurt his daughter?

"It’s alright Elisa, she’ll speak when she wakes up, for now, let’s just let her rest." He said calmly but Elisa pushed his hands off.

"Let me be Frank, you don’t have a right to speak to me or Claudia anymore." She barked.

"You’re not a real father, tell me what real father would abandon his child. You are supposed to protect her always." Elisa yelled.

"She was with you at the gala, why the hell did you leave her there? Is that being responsible?" Frank asked.
