One bright Afternoon, Harlow stepped out of her apartment to Grandma’s Hamilton for their further discussion about the upcoming gala, hosted for both her and Alanis.
She had only just found out from her husband that after the gala, was his grandmother’s birthday celebration. They couldn’t miss that for anything.
She needed to talk with the elderly woman first before they made any decisions.
As Harlow almost approached Charlotte’s Villa, someone stepped out from a corner. Her skin looked so dirty, dress was a little worn out. She looked like a mad freak. Her hair has little pieces of dried leaves and dirt.
Harlow stared carefully at her to recognize she was Alanis’s sister, Lia. How did she turn this way?
Was she okay?
The other day she had seen her and wondered the same, but she forgot to ask Alanis about it.
"You useless whore. You think you can just barge into this Villa and disrespect my mother because you’re banging my brother." Lia yelled. Even if she looked a mess, she was still a daughter of the family, at least that right hadn’t been taken away from her and she would put bitches like Harlow in their place.
She had no idea why her big brother would be easily swayed by an infected pussy. Everyone knows Harlow Blackwood is a whore, jumping from one man to another. She’s always on the news seen with different men.
"Hello, Lia." Harlow greeted with a smile even if she could barely contain the anger bubbling inside of her. Why does everyone think of her as a whore?
"Don’t hello me you whore. Just wait till I’m out of here, I have only a few days to get out of this mess and I’ll deal with you." Harlow smiled. These people really don’t know when to stop.
Harlow shook her head walked past Lia and stepped into Charlotte’s Villa.
"Oh, Harlow dear." Charlotte stretched her hands and her daughter-in-law didn’t hesitate to hug her.
"Good morning Mrs Hamilton." Elisa greeted, and in her hands was a bag filled with letters printed with a golden seal. Harlow recalled how lavish the Hamiltons lived in the past, but it all stopped when Mr Hamilton died. His death was so sudden.
His wife hurried to take over the company since her son was not yet done with school and it didn’t end well. Alanis has told her about the story himself.
"You look extremely beautiful today grandma, are you going out?" Harlow asked staring at the woman who had adorned herself with expensive jewels.
"Yes, I have to deliver these invitations to our very good family friends, and relatives so that they would know the gala It’s not a joke." Harlow nodded. "Why are you here today?" Charlotte asked.
"To spend time with you, but since you’re so busy, we’ll talk when you get back." Charlotte nodded.
"Um, grandma," Harlow called and the old woman gave all of her attention to her daughter-in-law. "Yes, dear."
"I saw Lia outside, is she okay?" Charlotte smiled.
"She’s very okay, I just gave her a little punishment for her stubbornness. Did she bother you? You can extend her punishment." Harlow’s eyes lit up.
"Extend her punishment?" She asked.
"Yes, it’s in the rule book over there. Oh yes, lest I forget, you have to go through the rules so that you don’t break them yourself. Rules are very essential in this household." Harlow nodded.
"Shi should leave now, I’m already late." Both Charlotte and Elisa stepped out of the Villa, leaving Harlow to herself. She tucked a few strands of her red hair to the back of her ear as she strode towards the shelf. Harlow picked up the big rule book with a smile as she started walking out of the Villa.
On her way out, she felt something heavy hit her legs, causing a little tear in her ankle. "Ah." Harlow squatted to hold the spot that hurt.
"This is only the beginning, count your days in here and get ready to die if you don’t leave." Harlow turned to the girl who spoke. It was none other than Lia. These people are still so very vile and heartless even in this life. This is why she would never show mercy to any of them.
"It seems the punishment isn’t enough to reset your brain. I should extend it a little more." She threatened.
"You wouldn’t dare!! Lia barked.
"Oh I will and you know I will. Just wait till grandma comes back, I’ll make you pay for this." Harlow rose to her feet so elegantly as she started walking towards her Villa.
.
Meanwhile, Alanis visited his painting room, painting is the one thing he loves to do in his free time, but he hasn’t done that in a while because his work wouldn’t allow him. He had been so focused on returning his father’s company to the top. They were on the verge of taking the Blackwood’s spot when his father died.
Alanis wore his apron and picked a paintbrush from the many on the table. He picked the already mixed colors on the board as he walked towards the wooden canvas and started painting. He always painted whatever came to mind. He has been trying to paint an image from the past, but for some reason, he couldn’t really recall anything about his family.
He was never home to his son and whenever Harlow brought Alex to the company, he would always send them away. He had no idea what his son really looked like. What he loved, what food he liked, how well he did in school, his favorite games to play.
Alanis dropped him to his side, looking at the white Canvas. How could he have been so heartless?
As he sat there, the brush fell from his hands and he bent to pick it up only to notice a strange canvas on the floor. "I never kept you here," Alanis murmured and picked it up.
All of his paintings and that of his siblings were always hung on the wall proudly no matter how stupid they looked. As he turned the canvas to stare at what paint his siblings must have hidden. His eyes went wide.
