Garth had hurried out of the estate at Dawn over to the Blackwood’s residence after their letter last night. She wanted to confirm things for herself and make sure she wasn’t reading lies herself.

She had been too ashamed of visiting, especially since she failed to make Claudia marry Alanis, but why did they suddenly want her useless son?

Garth hadn’t slept through the night thinking of these. George was going to get everything Alanis rejected, meaning, her life would be a lot easier, and not only would George take over the Hamilton’s co-operations, he would have the Blackwood’s backing.

If Alanis thinks marrying the Blackwood’s first daughter is going to do him any good, then he is mistaken because Claudia is the one inheriting everything her father worked so hard for. Harlow is only a useless girl, who is just after the Hamilton’s money.

"Elisa dear." Garth greeted the moment she saw the woman walk down the stairs. Even if was only a mistress, Elisa is every woman’s dream. Marrying the richest man in the country was not the only brag she had, but her daughter was also a successful young lady. Even if was bad at love, to the people, Claudia was more responsible than the real heiress.

Many had even forgotten Harlow was the legitimate daughter of the family.

"Oh Garth, welcome." Elisa greeted. Yesterday had been the worst day of her life but she couldn’t let anyone know about this. Elisa has tried to do everything in her power to give her daughter a good public image, if whatever had happened gotten to the news, she would never be able to change the public’s perception about her daughter anymore.

"I saw your letter." Garth caught to the chase. She wasn’t here to beat around the bush, she wanted to know what was going on.

"Please come join us for breakfast, Claudia really wants to meet you again," Elisa asked with a smile.

"If it’s for Alanis, I’m sorry I can’t help you anymore," Garth said.

"No, it’s not that, it’s for a completely different reason. Didn’t you read the letter?" Elisa asked already walking away. Even if her daughter might end up marrying the useless son of the Hamilton family, she would surely make George better than his brother by far. She would make sure he succeeds better. Her daughter will never be a laughingstock in the society like her.

Garth said nothing else and followed her into their dining area. As always, the Blackwood mansion was a bit intimidating, but Garth knew how to hide her feelings. When they got into the dining room, just like in every wealthy home, a round large golden table, stood tall in the room surrounded by golden chairs.

This was definitely not the dining room set she had met the last time she was here. Frank and Elisa sure did know how to flaunt their wealth. A wealth George would inherit in the future. She would make sure everything in this mansion would belong to her son.

"Mother, you’ve arrived." Claudia went ahead to hug the woman. Her smile was heavenly as she rushed to hug Garth. Garth who was taken aback by everything happening couldn’t believe it. Claudia called her mother rather than the usual Aunt Garth.

"Welcome to my humble abode again Madam Hamilton." Frank greeted. Garth was led to her seat where she sat. Her eyes searched around for the one person she had expected to greet her from the door but she didn’t see him around. She frowned. Is that what this was about?

Have the Blackwoods hurt her son? Oh they better not, because she would rain down hell upon them. She will make sure they spend the rest of their lives in prison.

"Where is George?" She asked and all three people on the table looked at themselves. Claudia was the one to speak this time. "George left last night without a word to anyone. That’s the reason we had asked you to come." Claudia said calmly.

"What are you talking about?" Garth asked.

"My guess is that he left because I..." She paused staring down at her food. "Mother I swear I meant no harm. I was only just confessing my feelings to him." She confessed softly, like an angel.

"What does that mean? Are you... In love..."

"Yes, mother." Claudia cut in. "The past few days he weeks he was here have made me realize what I have been missing." Claudia continued.

"George is a good person mother. He made me realize I have been wasting all of my time on a one-sided love with his brother. He taught me to live again and heal, but it’s unfortunate that he cannot love me back." Claudia said.

"I don’t want to be on another one side love mother. I promise to be a good wife and daughter-in-law. I love George so much." She confessed in a way that one would think she was telling the truth. Elisa and Frank who sat across from their daughter were super impressed. It is no wonder Claudia was an actress. They were so proud of their daughter.

"Come on don’t cry dear." Garth held her hands. "There’s no need for that. You have nothing to worry about, George is different from his useless brother Alanis. He would marry you once I speak with him." Garth promised.

Claudia stared at the woman’s lips, all there was in her mind was to cut off her tongue for calling her Alanis useless. How dare she?

"Thank you, mother." She smiled. She could easily divorce George once she’s done with everything she planned. Alanis will be hers soon and she will never let anything come between them anymore.

"It’s nothing. But there’s one problem." Garth said.

"What is it?" Elisa asked.

"According to the Hamilton rules which you are already familiar with, George will be back in two weeks, which means I can only talk to him in two weeks." She confessed.

"That’s not an issue Mother, I’m willing to wait," Claudia said with a smile.

"Welcome to our family Garth. I’m glad we’re officially related." Frank said.

"Thank you."
