THE BILLIONAIRE'S VENGEFUL WIFE RETURNS -
Chapter 126: APOLOGY
Chapter 126: APOLOGY
Once in the dining room, both Charlotte and Harlow took their seats and sat on them. Charlotte looked so happy seeing her granddaughter finally back at the Villa. Her family was getting complete again.
"I’ll send Elisa over so that we can discuss the details of the gala." Harlow nodded picking her tea cup as she took a sip of the tea.
Grandma Hamilton smiled as she watched Harlow eat. She loved to watch both Harlow and Alex eat in her Villa in the past. They made the poor old woman hungry, and we would eat with them too.
After a while Alanis arrived on the table, still in his robe. It’s almost as if he was ready to embarrass Harlow today. Even if she had covered his body protectively beneath the robe, Alanis had found a way to shift one side of the robe, revealing the marks on his shoulder and neck.
As he sat on the table, a knowing smile tugged the corner of his lips. Harlow looked up at him and wondered why he was smiling, then her eyes trailed down to his body and her eyes went wide. Alanis is really ready to end her life today.
This is a mistake she would never make again. She would make sure she’s no longer close to this man in any way, or get drunk to act foolish again.
"Grandson, what’s that on your skin?" Charlotte asked narrowing her eyes at the marks. Harlow’s face drained of any color. Aren’t old people meant to have poor eyesight, how does this woman still see so clearly?
"Oh, these?" Alanis asked, his eyes shifting to his wife who deviated her gaze immediately.
"What would I say, Grandma? I love with a vampire." He shrugged.
"Are those love bites." Charlotte pressed further, wondering how far these two had gone. The saying was really true, there’s really a thin line between love and hate. She smiled. She should let them do their thing so that they can give her her grandchild Alex.
Grandma Hamilton so wished to see her Alex again so badly.
"They are?" Alanis asked feigning ignorance himself. If eyes could kill, he was so sure his wife would have killed him by now due to how heavily she glared at him.
Alanis was about to speak when the double doors of the dining room opened to Ava walking in after a deep bow. Her steps were steady as she walked over to her young miss.
"Miss Harlow." She whispered next to her ears. "Some group of men are here to see you. They are begging to see you desperately." Ava said calmly. Harlow nodded and got up. This was her ticket to leaving the mess she created for herself and she wouldn’t miss it for anything.
"Where are you going to Harlow, you’re not done with breakfast," Charlotte said. "I have visitors grandma, I’ll be back soon." Harlow scurried away quickly.
Alanis was hellbent on embarrassing her, she would need to find a means of treating him quickly because that man would not stop until he ruined her reputation completely.
When Harlow arrived in the lounge, she was greeted by a familiar presence. She frowned. These men were the same men who looked down on her and threatened to leave her movie and cancel her for good because she refused to accept Claudia for the movie role.
What the hell are they doing in her Villa?
After Gus’s report, each of these men had been visited in ways they could never have predicted. Their lives had been turned upside down overnight. Careers that had taken decades to build were now in shambles. Alanis wasn’t one to make empty threats, and he had made sure each of them learned that lesson.
These little mindless fools had the guts to insult his wife and threaten her. When he heard the news he was very angry with them and decided to punish them.
He sent a few messages to the media, and they exposed everything. The bribes they had accepted, the careers they had destroyed out of greed, the skeletons in their closets they thought would never see the light of day. And the backlash had been swift and merciless. They had gone from respected figures in the industry to being branded as scumbags, cheats, and liars.
At first, they had no idea why the man was after them, but then they realized the reason why.
Harlow Blackwood.
They had mocked her just yesterday, and today they were here, reduced to begging for her forgiveness.
"Miss Harlow," Robert, the man who had so brazenly called her a whore and dismissed her as an "ordinary scriptwriter," greeted her with a bow. In his trembling hands was a neatly wrapped gift box, and the others standing behind him clutched similar offerings.
Harlow arched a brow, her lips pressing into a thin line. Were they here to beg her? The thought amused her. These proud men were really her to beg her.
Robert fell on his knees, he hadn’t slept through the night after Alanis’s visit. He was no longer anything anymore, but a common useless man in the society. All of the awards he had won were now all useless. If he knew this useless girl was in any way related to Alanis Hamilton, they would have never treated her the way they did.
"Miss Harlow, we’re sorry for everything we did to you, or whatever harm we may have caused you because of our past actions and big mouth." Paul knelt too, and so did Clement as they all apologized to her.
Harlow was shocked herself, and here she was still thinking of a revenge plan for them. She smiled. The universe does know how to punish people in its time, but why then has it not punished her stupid husband?
"Miss Harlow, please plead with your husband too to forgive us, we should have never addressed you as a whore or even say the things we said about you," Paul said.
"I personally feel so stupid for even laughing at the lies spread around the internet about you," Clement said.
"Miss, our lives and careers have been ruined. If you don’t forgive us, we will be doomed for life." Robert said. He has children, children whose lives have also been affected by these scandals.
"We agree with your ideas concerning the movie production, we will go with your ideas and not make any changes anymore." He added.
"And what makes you think I want that?" Harlow asked. "You all said my screenplay wasn’t anything good compared to the works you have done, I have no idea why you all want to work with me now?" Harlow asked.
"Miss Ha..."
"I don’t want to work with you guys anymore. I’ll find a new team.
