"I’ve missed you too Miss Harlow. I felt relieved when Master Alanis said you were fine. I’m sorry things went down that way." Ava apologized quickly. Maybe if she had given Harlow a head start, those men would never have hurt her.

From what she heard, Alanis was the one to save them, and Ava was forever grateful for that. It just shows that she was right. Alanis is the right man for Harlow. She only wished her Miss Harlow could see the future the way she was.

"It’s not your fault Ava," Harlow said calmly. Claudia had been the one to set them up, and she was glad she had embarrassed her back. Though that’s not even the revenge she had in mind, setting Claudia up would have been the perfect revenge, and having a camera by the side and then posting the video all over the internet.

Harlow smiled. That would have been a satisfactory revenge, but she would wait for another chance. She knows her sister was fond of trying to set her up, she would set a trap also for Claudia and this time end her once and for all.

"Master Alanis said they couldn’t have come on their own. He says they are working for someone." Ava said picking her basket of new sheets again. She walked over to the bed and started changing the sheets.

"Well, whoever it is did not succeed Ava. That’s what we should be grateful for." Ava nodded, throwing the old sheets on the floor.

"But aren’t you curious about knowing who it is?" Ava asked. Before Harlow could respond, she said, "Master said he is going to find the person." She dusted the pillow and replaced the new pillowcase.

"There’s no need, I already dealt with them," Harlow said calmly and Ava’s eyes turned wide. She couldn’t believe Harlow had found the person, but how? Did the Andrew man help her?

Ava understood Andrew had been in love with Harlow since high school because Harlow always spoke about the annoying boy who always disturbed her. But she had no idea when Harlow became acquainted with him.

"You know who’s behind it?" Harlow nodded turning her maid even more curious. "I’m glad they didn’t harm us before we were saved," Harlow added.

"Miss Harlow, can you please tell me who it was?" Ava asked directly, she couldn’t hide her curiosity anymore. She needed to pray for whoever had done such an atrocious thing to them. Ava couldn’t begin to imagine what would have happened if whoever it was succeeded.

"Claudia." came Harlow’s flat tone. Ava wasn’t surprised at all. She already suspected her arrival that day and even warned Harlow about it. Ava remembered pleading with Harlow to leave the place and not stay there through the night. But Harlow didn’t listen.

"That witch." Ava hissed angrily. What if Alanis hadn’t shown up? What would have become of them? Those thugs were ruthless, they didn’t even want to accept any deal Harlow made with them.

"She’ll pay for every damn thing she’s done." Ava spread the last sheets on the bed. "Oh Miss Harlow, tell me you punished her very well Miss Harlow. I hope you gave her a taste of her own medicine?" Ava asked.

She’s never one who pays revenge on people, but Claudia and her mother have really beaten more than they could chew.

Harlow nodded gently, "I did." She smiled. She hadn’t only slapped Claudia, her stepmother and father had also gotten a taste of their own medicine. But Harlow would have lost if Andrew hadn’t spoken up for her.

Her mind flashes to him again, the state she had left him last night was bad. She wondered how he was doing now.

"Who knows what would have happened if Master Alanis hadn’t arrived," Ava said but didn’t see the slight frown on Harlow’s face. How could she have forgotten how he stole her last night from her peace? Just when she thought she had it all figured out, he comes in again to destroy everything.

That monster...

Harlow watched Ava walk into the bathroom in silence. In no time, she heard running water. After a while, Ava returned to the bedroom. "Your bath is ready Miss Harlow."

"Thank you, Ava." The young girl smiled at her maid and walked into the bathroom. Harlow entered the tub filled with warm water with different flower petals floating above. She moaned biting her lower lips. After the forceful pull last night, she needed all the warm water to loosen her tensed muscles.

Harlow sat in the water for a while and when she was done bathing she stepped out of the bathroom in a blue robe.

"You’re done, great, now I can prepare you for breakfast." Ava beamed. She ushered her mistress into her closet to sit before her dressing mirror. Ava picked the hair dryer by the side and started drying her young miss hair. She has always been the one to dry Harlow’s hair since a child and wouldn’t stop now.

After drying her hair, Ava combed it and styled it for her mistress just like always. "I had no idea, the Hamiltons are very nice people, except for us, Madam Garth, and her children," Ava said.

That was completely different from the last Harlow remembered. In her past, no one was nice to her, including the maids. The only person that had been kind from the beginning was Grandma Hamilton.

"I don’t think so." Came Harlow’s words. She still wondered why Garth hadn’t arrived already to insult and ridicule her like always. The woman and her children were always fond of abusing her, physically, and mentally. And Harlow always cried when they did it.

Just how foolish had she been?

Ava was still drying her hair when a drop of water escaped to roll down Harlow’s face. The maid noticed and picked a towel to wipe the water out when she saw her swollen lips.

"Miss Harlow, did you kiss someone?"
