Chapter 159: She Is Alive

The next day, Evelyn woke up to find Kiana curled up to her. She looked on the other side of the bed to find it empty. Zevian must have probably brought their little bear here, she thought patting Kiana’s head.

"Mommy.." Kiana grumbled, moving closer and snuggling in her mother’s warm embrace. "Aunty Avery rolls a lot, I couldn’t sleep last night."

Evelyn chuckled at the little girl’s complaints. "You can sleep in your room. I will tell you bedtime stories until you are asleep."

Kiana’s sleepy face beamed and she looked up at Evelyn, her eyes droopy. "Really?" When Evelyn nodded, she grinned and hugged her tightly. "Mommy’s the best!"

"And my little bear is the sweetest," Evelyn replied with a smile, pecking the little girl’s forehead. Just her presence was enough to wash away all her worries and she was indeed lucky to have met her.

"It’s the weekend! Should we go out?" Kiana asked in a low murmur. She had been impatiently waiting for Evelyn to return from her business trip but then those bad guys caught her. The little girl still didn’t understand why Annabelle died and how her Mommy was linked to it, but one thing she was sure is that was not wrong. Super Mommy’s can never hurt good people!

Evelyn thought about it with a weary smile. Zevian had specifically mentioned there would be third wheels between them on their date today. But Kiana was left alone for so long and needed time to be with them too.

"Alright." Evelyn agreed, making a note to convince Zevian later. It would take some time for these two to stop fighting over her attention and she hoped it would be soon.

"Yay!" Kiana sat up on the bed and did her little hand dance making Evelyn laugh out loud. She pulled the little girl in a hug, both giggling and enjoying their peaceful morning.

Zevian finished his work early and rushed back home only to find Kiana all set for their date on the couch. The little girl was wearing a green dress with a frog cartoon over it, paired with a frog hat and a green sling bag.

"Daddy! Daddy!" Kiana jumped down from the couch and rushed to hug her Daddy. "I heard you are taking us on a date! I am so happy ~" The little girl excitedly declared, even before he could object to it.

Zevian looked at his daughter and sighed. How could he not give up when she acted this cute? The little devil knew how to get what she wanted. The duo then looked at Evelyn who walked down in her usual blue jeans and a floral top.

"So, where are we going?" Kiana asked, widening her arms.

Zevian lifted her up and questioned back, "Where do you want to go?" They both walked back to the couch where Evelyn stopped.

Kiana thought about it for a while, tapping her chin. Her eyes beamed with joy when she caught a perfect adventurous place. "Assumement park!"

Evelyn chuckled out loud. Pinching her little bear’s nose, she corrected, "It’s an amusement park, baby."

"Yeah, assumement park!" Kiana nodded, repeating the same word. It felt like a tongue twister and her parents simply smiled, not caring to correct her again.

"So, it’s assumement park," Zevian repeated, making Kiana giggle and nod in excitement. With a smile, he added, "Alright, I will make the arrangements."

"Yes! Yes! Get changed quickly, Daddy!" Kiana chimed, getting down of his arms. With a smile, Zevian nodded and walked upstairs.

Kiana and Evelyn settled on the couch, waiting for him to return. Suddenly an idea popped into Kiana’s mind and she asked, "Should we take Aunty Avery, Mommy? She will take pictures for us!"

Evelyn chuckled at her comment. "No, darling. She is caught up in work, and might probably not make it." She replied, recalling how AWE was right now burning because of Annabelle’s death. She felt guilty for not being there but Avery assured her it would be fine if she took a day break. Evelyn needed it much, after all.

"Oh," Kiana murmured, a small pout forming her lips. It would have been a perfect opportunity to get their cupid tasks done since Yael would readily drag his father to the park. Maybe next time. The little girl thought in her head, still determined to help Yael get a Mommy too. Every kid deserves to have a Mommy like her!

Once Zevian was ready, the family left for the earliest amusement park. Kiana was excited and ran inside the large venue, stopping when she found it was empty. Where were the other kids? Especially cute boys of her age? She wondered, a scowl forming on her lips.

"Did you book the entire park?" Evelyn wondered aloud, equally stunned as her daughter.

Zevian shrugged in response, glancing around to find the staff running at their entry. It was safer this way and he didn’t need unnecessary comments to spoil their day.

Evelyn understood his reasons and felt bad for Kiana who was here for a boyfriend hunt. She was still too young for it and had tried to change her thought process, but it was impossible and Evelyn had given up. But her Daddy seemed to crush all her fairy tales.

"Boyfriend is simply a boy being my friend, Mommy. And Girlfriend is simply a girl being my friend." The little girl had tried to explain to her, causing Evelyn to melt away at her cuteness.

"Mr. Reign!" The head of the park greeted, beaming in joy. They had received a huge sum, something even running the park for a weak wouldn’t have made. The staff were also getting bonuses and they were eager to do their best, shutting away all their gossip about this family for a day.

"What do you want to do first, Kiana?" Zevian asked his daughter, his hands casually tucked inside the pockets.

"Roller coaster!" Not just Kiana even someone standing behind them chirped along with the little girl.

Evelyn smiled at Rita’s excitement who followed them along with John. Kiana giggled and went to hold onto Rita’s arm, her best friend for today.

"Come, sis Rita! Let’s go ride it!" The little girl beamed and Rita with an awkward smile let her drag toward the area.

Zevian and Evelyn followed in all smiles, holding each other’s hands. Meanwhile, John mingled among the park’s staff, making sure to keep them in check from causing trouble for his boss and madam.

They reached the roller coaster area and Kiana felt a little nervous seeing the height. Rita held onto her hand and assured her, "It will be exciting! Trust me!"

"Really? Have you ridden before?" Kiana asked in awe. This was the first time since her family never allowed her to do anything adventurous. They always made sure she was within their house, playing whatever games it could afford that in the end, she got addicted to reading fairy tales.

"I will wait here, Boss." John declared as everyone started climbing the stairs.

"Is uncle afraid of heights? Hehe~" Kiana giggled, placing a hand on her mouth. Her words flustered John but Rita with a mischievous grin rushed to him.

"Oh, don’t be afraid! I will be with you!" With that, she dragged John with them making everyone laugh out loud.

Evelyn and Zevian settled on of the row while Rita and Kiana sat in front of them, with John left to take the first spot.

"Aren’t there any gears?" The bodyguard asked, clinging onto the railing tightly. Rita burst into laughter and shook her head, finding him cute.

Soon the ride started and Kiana held the safety rod tightly, her little screams bringing smiles to everyone’s face. But as they reached the top of the ride, John was the one screaming out loud making the ride even more funny.

"Oh, John!" Rita chuckled out loud between the ride, finding his expressions and curses hilarious. Who knew such a giant would have a soft side too?

Once the ride was over, John was the first to get out, feeling his nausea hit up. Zevian helped Evelyn out of the seating who was feeling a little dizzy. Kiana opened her arms for him and he lifted her up, his other hand holding Evelyn’s as they got out of the area.

"What’s next?" Zevian asked, ready to fulfill all of Kiana’s wishes today. She had always grumbled about visiting a park but he never allowed her, a little worried she would see someone happy with their moms and get deeply wounded again. But now, he need not worry a bit about it.

But before Kiana could answer, Zevian’s phone suddenly rang up. With a frown, he passed Kiana to Evelyn and took out his phone. He had warned Brandon to not disturb him today, but his frown deepened seeing Damien calling with his international number.

Lifting the phone, Zevian asked, "What’s wrong?"

Evelyn’s brows furrowed as Zevian glanced at her, seemingly shocked about something. Even Kiana couldn’t help but blink, heart worried that they might need to return in between their dates.

"Alright, we will fly soon," Zevian answered, ending the call with a sigh.

"Wh-what happened?" Evelyn inquired, her heart thudding in dread.

Zevian paused for a moment, not sure how she would take it. Reaching out to her arm, he replied, "They found your mother."

Evelyn’s eyes widened in shock, her body trembling slightly. "W-who?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Zevian sighed softly. Helping Kiana get down, he held onto Evelyn’s hand and announced, "They found Gracia, Eva. She is alive."
