Chapter 88: Meeting Old Friends

On Friday, Elaine asked Aryana to accompany her to the mall. She needed to buy a dress as she was attending a wedding on Sunday.

She was wearing a skinny black jeans with a blue sweater and a pair of white sneakers. On top, she wore a chic parka. She finished her outfit with pearl earrings that looked like dews Thad were about to fall from her ears.

She looked refreshing and her outfit was perfect for a stroll in the mall. She asked Elaine to take photos of her casually walking and posted it in her moments with the caption, "A casual wear for a Friday stroll in the mall by Artisan." Artisan was a brand name of Mu Feng’s designs.

At the same time, Cassie also accompanied her best friend at the mall. Marriane wanted to buy new clothes and bags and she would like to get Cassie’s expert advise.

"Hey, is it okay if I add you as a my friend? I am just starting here so the more friend I have the better for me." Cassie said amiably.

Aryana hesitated before raising up her cellphone to Cassie so she can scan her QR code. She heard a notification in her cellphone and she accepted her friend request.

"Can we have a selfie?" She did not wait for her permission but casually placed her face closed to hers. Aryana smiled and showed her dimples just in time when Cassie pushed the button of the camera.

Cassie signaled Marriane with her eyes to take photos of her and Aryana. This will be good opportunity for her to show her in a better light than Aryana especially when Aryana was in a casual wear.

"Who is she Cassie? She looked familiar." Marianne scrutinized Aryana.

"Marriane, you are based here. I am surprised you don’t know her? She is the brand ambassador of Gaeya Corporation."

Marianne’s mouth formed a big O.

"No wonder she looked familiar. She looked plain today but very photogenic on the billboards!" Marriane was talking to Cassie but her voice was loud that attracted the attention of several shoppers.

"I’m here to accompany my friend. If you’ll excuse us." Aryana find an opportunity to escape.

Aryana knew very well that she was being targeted. She still maintained a sweet smile showing her cute dimples. She dragged Elaine away and they moved to a rack of formal wears."

Cassie arrived at Midnight Club together with her best friend Marriane. A few of their friends during college were already there enjoying food, music and wine. She handed them the gifts which she brought from Italy.

"Cassie, you are still as pretty as ever." Karla, another close friends of her said as she kissed her on the cheeks.

"I know right. Look out how slender and graceful she has become." Rhia added.

Marriane, Karla and Rhia were here closest friends in college. They were classmates while Erik and his friends were their seniors. Cassie was two years younger than Erik.

Soon Franco entered the VIP room along with the waiters who brought in additional food. Alex came after a few minutes.

Marlon and Erik came in last. Erik frowned when he noticed the meeting were not just for the four of them. He threw Marlon a glance. Marlon just shrugged his shoulder.

Cassie beamed when Erik came inside. She took out gifts from her bag and passed them to Marlon, Franco and Alex.

"Open them." She coaxed.

The three opened the gifts and they were exquisite neck ties in shades of blue, red and gray.

"Thank you for your thoughtful gift." Franco said. He ran his fingers on the smooth texture of the neck tie and he knew it was an expensive gift.

"Where is Erik’s gift?" Marriane said excitedly. "Looked like you prepared really something special for him."

Cassie looked at Erik lovingly. She took out an exquisitely wrapped small box and passed it to him.

"Of course, it is something special. It took me a long time to pick out this gift." She said in a melodic voice. "Come on open it."

Erik was left with no choice. He opened the box and found a beautiful round vintage black gold cuff links. The edge was framed by platinum. It was indeed beautiful.

"Thank you Cassie. It is beautiful." He said briefly before pocketing the cufflinks.

Cassie was a bit disappointed by the lukewarm reply from Erik. She quickly hid it with a gentle smile.

Marriane clinked the wine glass with her fork.

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" She chanted.
