Chapter 248: Her Ever After

"I thought I was dreaming earlier when I saw you get out of the car." Elaine cried aloud, then she threw herself into Aryana’s arms. She gently pinched her cheeks to double-check that she was real and not a ghost.

"When you disappeared, we thought you were already dead! Thank God that you are still alive." It was Vince. His arms were resting on Jessa’s waist. Jessa was holding a toddler in her arms.

Elaine looked at Erik accusingly. "You have been with Aryana all this time, and yet you did not tell us?" She asked in an aggrieved tone.

Then she noticed the baby in his arms. When they were on the balcony, she did not notice the baby as she was still inside the car.

"Oh, my gosh, is this your little Princess Boss Erik?" Elaine’s gaze darted from the baby in Erik’s arms then to Erik and then Aryana.

"Could it be that you adopted a baby when you were abroad?" Elaine did not know what to ask so she asked what she thought was a logical question.

Erik glared at her.

"If you don’t know what to ask, then don’t open your mouth," Erik said unhappily.

Elaine covered her mouth with her hands.

"Are you saying that this baby is your child with Aryana?"

The look of affirmation on Erik’s face made Elaine scream so loud that Baby Erika was startled and wailed.

"I am sorry. I got carried away." Elaine apologized.

Aryana took the baby from Erik. The moment the little one nestled on Aryana’s bosom, she stopped crying.

"It is incredible. You were pregnant when you went missing. Yana, your baby must be your guardian angel. It protected you." Elaine was half-crying, half-laughing.

Vince and Jessa who were standing at the side were happy for Erik. They have seen how much he suffered when Aryana disappeared and was thought to be dead. But he came back not only with Aryana but with their baby.

The sound of arriving cars distracted them.

"That must be Grandpa and the others." Aryana glanced at Erik.

Erik went to the entrance to welcome his in-laws.

Mu Heng and the Mu siblings were satisfied when they saw how big the mansion was. It simply showed that Erik placed great importance on Aryana.

When Aryana introduced her grandfather and cousins to her friends, they were dumbfounded. They praised Aryana’s luck. If she was not lucky, how could she be dumped by the force of nature on her grandfather’s island?

"Indeed you are an angel, Aryana. You are blessed and a blessing!" Vince exclaimed after Aryana finished her story of how she met her maternal grandfather.

The following evening, the brightly lit E&A Lee Manor was buzzing with activity. The vast front lawn was transformed into an outdoor banquet hall. The lush green grass was a natural carpet while delicate pieces of long white cloth interweaving with each other exquisitely and beautifully canopied the 30 tables and 300 chairs.

To the east of the manor, was a Japanese-themed garden while to the west was a garden of rare and exquisite flowers and plants. It was where the miniature castle was built.

The guests started arriving as early as 5:00 pm. Erik and Aryana stayed at the entrance to welcome them which were mostly Erik’s relatives, friends, and business partners. Some of Erik’s reliable employees also came.

It was not a surprise when Franco came with Juliana. What was surprising was when Jax came with Cassie.

Erik openly showed his displeasure upon seeing Cassie. He became wary of her because he still remembered the night before Aryana disappeared. If Cassie had not schemed on him, he might have accompanied Aryana on that cruise ship.

Cassie felt Erik’s burning gaze. She tightened her grip on Jax’s arm and looked down after congratulating both of them for the new baby and Aryana’s safe return.

Jax coughed lightly. His gaze lingered a moment longer on Amaya. He thought what a lucky guy Erik was to hit the jackpot. Aryana was a gem.

He only looked away when he felt Cassie tightened her grip on his arm and caught her glaring at him.

"Are you jealous?" He whispered and blew air on her earlobes. Cassie felt her ear tingle and she intensified her glare on him.

"Cassie and I registered our marriage but we will hold our wedding in two months. You know, both of us are illegitimate children and we don’t want our child to be the same as us."

Jax’s nonchalant announcement of his relationship with Cassie made Erik and Aryana miss his point that it took them some time to understand.

"You and Cassie are married?" Erik asked, his eyes widened.

Jax nodded while Cassie looked down. She knew that she had not gotten over Erik but when she looked at him looking at Aryana as if there was only her in the world, she felt defeated. She removed her hand from Jax’s arm.

Jax looked down at her and frowned. But then Cassie took his hand and intertwined her fingers with his. She looked up at him and smiled. "Let us go find our table. Erik and Aryana still have lots of guests to greet." She said sweetly. At that time, Cassie decided to stop chasing what she could never have and start cherishing what belonged to her.

Soon, George Lee arrived with his assistant. He was all smiles when Aryana greeted him and bowed slightly to show her respect.

"I am glad that you are safe and have come back. Where is my great-granddaughter?" He asked while looking around.

"She is sleeping in the room. We will bring her out when the time comes." It was Erik who answered."

Erik and Aryana escorted him to a small receiving area adjacent to the living room. Mu Heng was sitting there like an emperor waiting for George Lee to arrive.

"Grandpa, this is George Lee, Erik’s grandfather." Aryana took the initiative to introduce her maternal grandfather to Erik’s Grandpa.

"We knew each other, Aryana. We have had a few collaborations in the past."

Aryana froze. It was the first time that she heard George Lee address her as Aryana and he spoke in a gentle tone. She felt it was surreal.

"Then, we will leave both of you to discuss your matter." Erik led Aryana by the hand and they went back outside to greet the other guests.

George Lee cleared his throat.

"Up to now, I can’t believe that my grandson secretly married your great-granddaughter which makes us in-laws." George Lee gave out a small smile that appeared cunning to Mu Heng.

"The reason why I insisted on coming with Mu Lan is to warn you not to bully her. I investigated and learned that you bullied her in the past." the Mu Patriarch spoke with a commanding aura.

George Lee was unfazed. Mu Heng was the chairman of a conglomerate but he also held the same position.

"Well, in the past Aryana was just a chauffeur’s daughter. Even if it was you, you would also not agree to their relationship. Like me, you would want the best for your children and grandchildren."

Mu Heng was silent. He could not refute him.

"But since things are different now, and Aryana’s background is not ordinary, and since they are already married and even had a child, everything is just perfect." George Lee extended his hand for a handshake which Mu Heng readily accepted.
