Chapter 145: She Is Not A Risk Taker
"You have a good point. But there is something you forgot." Erik pulled her close.
"You forgot that your husband is rich and powerful. I can but the entire mall for you so you can showcase your products." Erik pinched her chin.
"Your family will think of me as a gold digger. Wouldn’t that make them hate me more?"
Erik caressed her hair. "My silly girl. You married me and not them. Our affairs should not concern them."
"It is easy for you to say that because you are not in my position. If you place yourself in my shoes then you will feel how I feel." Aryana sounded agrieved.
Erik was saved from answering her when the driver announced that they have arrived.
Erik selected the most expensive restaurant for their lunch. He just wanted to tease Aryana but of course he intended to handle the bill afterwards.
The waiter ushered them to a private room and when he handed the menu, Aryana’s eyebrows were furrowed when she saw the figure at the right hand side.
She handed Erik the menu. "You order for me as well." She smiled broadly at him. Of course she knew what he is up to. She intended to use her money but since it was so expensive, she now has a reason to use the black card he gave her.
Erik ordered the restaurant’s specialties and while waiting for the food, Aryana pulled her chair and she placed is beside Erik. She took her tablet and started her presentation.
She segmented her customers into three. The wealthy and rich, the young and mass affluent and the rest of the masses.
Her target audience for Co-Chi was the young and mass affluent or the middle class. She did her research in terms of the percentages of each segment against the total population.
Then she will branch out into the high end market with her luxury series.
"I’m still thinking whether to start a totally new company or it will still be Co-Chi with a different department for luxury series which I want to call Prestige. I just have a concern that the reception from the target market might be lukewarm because we started out catering to the middle class. What do you think?" She shifted her head from looking at the tablet to look at the man beside her.
Before Erik can even answer her, she threw him another idea.
"Or I can test the market first and come up with a department for luxury brand, Prestige by Co-Chi sounds nice to me. If it does not work, then I can just spin off the company."
Erik was slightly amused by Aryana’s thought process. Setting up a new company for a luxury brand was risky and expensive.
’She is back to being cautious. She is indeed not a risk taker. She is different from Cassie who is a risk taker like me.’ Erik thought.
"Your idea of testing it out first is good. You should just go with keeping one company and a different department for the luxury brand but you should launch your luxury products at the same time you would do for the affluent and the middle class"
"I need a bigger capital if I do that." Aryana paused. She supported her chin with both of her hands and grinned at the CEO who was sitting beside her.
"Then CEO Lee, would you like to be a shareholder?" Aryana asked expectantly.
Erik thought that she really looked cute.
"No." He answered briefly.
"Why not?" Aryana was hurt. ’Is my business plan so bad that he doesn’t want to invest?’
"I don’t need to be your shareholder. You can use the card I gave you to increase your capital. You never used that since the time we get married."
Aryana felt guilty. She seldom used the card as she has her own money from her salary and from working as a model.
"Okay, I will definitely use this."
Their conversation was interrupted when the food arrived. Aryana had eaten more than Erik. She loved all the food that were served to them.
"The food is delicious. I finished everything." She asked for the bill and Aryana almost had a heart when she saw the bill. It could have fed twenty people.
She took out a black card and handed it to the waiter. The waiter looked at Erik as if asking for his feedback. Erik nodded and he took the card from Aryana.
When they were heading to the parking lot, Aryana had an idea. She beamed at Erik and asked? "Can I drive?"
Erik wasn’t surprised by her question. Ben has updated him when Aryana pestered him to teach her to drive.
"Have you gotten your driver’s license?" He asked.
Aryana nodded. She has just gotten it the other day.
"Okay then. " Erik nodded.
Erik asked the driver to move to the back seat. The driver wanted to say something to Aryana but he stopped when Erik glared at him. He handed the key to her.
’Why does madam wanted to drive this very expensive car? Doesn’t she know that this car costs over 31 million?’ The driver thought bitterly.
Aryana started the car confidently. The engine roared to life. She checked the mirrors and familiarized herself with the dashboard and the gear.
She stepped on the gas. The Maybach jolted.
The driver at the backseat was sweating. He buckled up.
"Relax. Just step on the gas lightly." Erik coached her.
Aryana managed to maneuver the Maybach from the parking lot and brought it into a busy street.
Aryana was focussed on her driving. She never dared to change lanes unless it was necessary. They were already near Gaeya Tower when a woman suddenly stepped in front of the car. Aryana stepped on the brake too hard that if not for the seat belt that restrained her she could have smashed her head into the dashboard.
"Are you alright?" Erik looked at her with concern. Her face was like paper. She must have been scared like hell. He admired her for her quick thinking. She did not panic and stepped on the brake just in time.
Aryana was still in shock. There was only a ten centimeters distance between the car and the woman.
"Check on that woman." Erik looked at the man at the backseat who hurried out of the car.
The woman looked vaguelyfamiliar.
