Chapter 131: Are You Looking Down On Your Husband?
The following day, Erik stayed at home so Aryana cooked dinner. She decided on something light and healthy and cooked pan grilled salmon with asparagus and baked chicken with rosemary and thyme.
Erik was watching her while she cooked. Even on an apron she still looked sexy.
"When did you learned to cook?" Erik went behind her and hugged her from the back.
"Since I was in elementary. Aunt Elena is a good cook so I learned from her first and later I watched cooking reality shows and videos."
Aryana was done cooking in no time and she set the table.
Erik tasted the chicken and salmon. "They taste good. They are better than what I had last night."
"You are flattering me Mister Lee." Aryana finished her own food and brought the utensils to the sink to clean them.
"Leave the dishes to me. Since you cook, I’ll wash them." Erik said as he went to the sink. Aryana cleaned and tidied the dining table.
"Are you sure boss." Aryana teased him.
"It’s just washing dishes. How difficult it could be? Besides when I studied abroad I also cooked and washed my own utensils.
"When did you study abroad?" Aryana asked. She was curious.
"When I had my masteral degree in business administration eight years ago."
"I just graduated from elementary back that time." Aryana chuckled.
"Are you telling me that I am that old?" Erik was done with dish washing and wiped his wet hands with a paper towel.
"No. I did not say that." Aryana protested. With how Erik was, she knew what will happen if he provoked him about bing old.
"Good. Otherwise I’ll prove to you that I am not old. But considering how you begged last night, I’ll let you rest for tonight."
"You..."
After dinner, Erik went to his study while Aryana received a message from Elaine that she was able to get in touch with a fashion design and dress making school and they can meet with the managing director the following day after office.
Aryana was in a good mood but soon it was ruined when Elaine sent her a link of a blog where photos of her and Clark eating dinner earlier were posted. The writer was insinuating that Aryana hooked up with the CEO of Galaxy Entertainment.
As usual, SoaringPhoenix was depending her, telling her haters that the photo means nothing at all. Aryana sighed. Next time she should be more careful.
She was studying Vince’s designs when Erik came back and sat beside her on the bed.
"What are you looking at?" Erik grabbed the notebook from her and scanned the pages.
"What do you think of the dresses?" Aryana asked.
"They looked good. Some are better than the one sent to you by that Mu guy." Erik continued to scan the notebook. "Whose designs are these?"
"They are Vince’s."
Erik frowned. He was trying to remember who Vince was. When he finally remembered, the crease between his forehead became even deeper.
"He is the one who took you hostage? He know how to design clothes?" Erik was surprised.
"He took design as an elective in high school. But he was too poor he cannot continue in college. He was born with this talent. But what a he lacked was opportunity because he was poor and he has no backer." She lamented.
She looked at Erik with a hopeful gaze.
"I am thinking of converting his designs into actual products then I will promote them online similar to what I am doing for Mu Feng. We can rent a small space in a mall for a boutique that will serve as our show room. What do you think?" Aryana asked Erik’s opinion.
"Sounds good but you are limiting your target market. You have written your business plan?"
"No." Aryana admitted. It was all in her head.
"I intend to test it out first. I am receiving huge commissions from posting my photos of Artisan’s collection. It means that there are a lot of orders coming from my link.
If these designs are converted into actual goods and I can sell them online, then we will have very low overhead. We only need to pay the raw materials and the labor cost."
"Do you have supplier for your fabric?"
Aryana shook her head. "Elaine said she know of a fashion design school who also teach their students dressmaking and bespoke tailoring. We thought of contacting them first and they can refer us to their suppliers." Aryana thought that Erik was not sold to the idea.
"It is just a small business." She added softly.
"Silly girl, everything starts with something small." Erik noted her disappointment so he tried to encourage her.
"You are wrong. Not everything starts with something small. If one has the money and power then he can go directly for the big fish. Since I have neither the resource nor the power, then I want to take baby steps instead." She said this time with conviction.
Erik regarded her with narrowed eyes. "Are you looking down on your husband? Haven’t I proven to you that I am powerful and I have the money? I have given you a black card and you haven’t used it yet." Erik sounded aggrieved which doesn’t suit him.
Aryana giggled.
"What are you giggling?" Erik arched an eyebrow.
"Nothing, you don’t know how cute you looked like just now. It doesn’t fit you to sound aggrieved." Aryana poked his chest with her finger.
"Use the card I gave you. What is the use of me working so hard if my wife does not want to spend the money I earn?"
"Okay, I’ll use it. But don’t complain when I get addicted to using it."
"Of course not. I have a lot of money that you can spend them however you like." Erik said proudly.
"But it is your money. I am not comfortable spending them. Your family will think that I am a gold digger." Aryana said softly like she was just talking to herself.
"Silly girl. We are husband and wife so my money is your money as well." He said as he hugged her tight.
"If you want to have a company under your name, I’ll give it to you. But I would like to see your business plan first." Erik patted her head.
’Does he doubt my ability that’s why he wanted a business plan? What if my business plan is not as good as Cassie? Will he look down on me?’ Aryana thought bitterly.
