Chapter 101: The Chauffeur’s Daughter

Chapter 101: The Chauffeur’s Daughter

Carrie was driving her Porche back to the Lopez mansion. The scene she saw at the hospital kept replaying in her mind.

’Damn Aryana. Looked like you have successfully seduced Erik. But I will never let you succeed.’ She stepped on the gas pedal and her car accelerated.

When she arrived at her room she dialed a number and was in the call for a long time before she finally went to sleep

...

The following morning, Erik went back to the Penthouse to change and to get some change of clothes for Aryana. He also asked Maria to cook a nourishing soup for her.

When he came back to the hospital, he was greeted with lots of flowers and fruit baskets. There were too many of them that some were placed on the corridor.

Erik was displeased. He was just gone for less than two hours and Aryana’s ward has turned into a flower shop.

"Throw them away!" Erik instructed the body guards.

"Dont!" Aryana protested. "I will do something about them."

Cassie arrived at the hospital a few minutes after Erik. She asked a body guard to watch over Erik and report to her once he was back in the hospital. She wanted to have more opportunities of meeting Erik. She will subtly reenter his life as the sweet Cassie.

Cassie was also surprised to see lots of flowers and fruit baskets in Aryana’s ward. Were those from her fans? Does she have fans that care enough to send her flowers? She was envious. She squinted her eyes to try to read the labels but they were very small.

She knocked on the door and waited briefly before pushing it open.

"Good morning." She greeted Erik and Aryana with a warm smile. Aryana has a questioning look on her face.

"I brought Karla breakfast. The nanny cooked a lot, it is a pity if this will go to waste so I brought some for Aryana." She put down the thermo jar on the table beside the bed.

"Grandpa gave me one of his prized ginseng when I told him that my friend got hurt. He had it cooked into a soup. Eat it while it is still hot. I’ll get the container later." She left without looking back. She did not want to overstay her welcome or to pester Erik.

Aryana looked at Erik with a big question mark on her face.

Erik said nothing.

She opened the thermo jar and a pleasing aroma filled the air.

"Indeed this looked delicious." She salivated. She paused and looked at Erik curiously. "She wouldn’t put poison on this right?" Aryana did not discount the possibility of Cassie harming her.

"She wouldn’t dare!"

"Erik, I don’t want to owe Cassie anything at all." Aryana said thinking deeply.

"Don’t worry I’ll handle it." Erik replied.

Aryana just finished the soup when two exquisite food boxes arrived from a famous restaurant in Central District.

Erik passed the first box to Aryana. "You have to eat a proper breakfast." Aryana sighed and accepted the food box. She felt full but she tried to eat a little more just to please Erik.

Erik asked the body guard to deliver the second food box to Cassie in Karla’s ward.

"Tell Miss Lopez that the soup was delicious and this is to return the favor."

After freshening up, Aryana checked the gift tags on the flowers and fruit baskets. Clark, Antonio and Jax sent him flowers. She saw a few big names but she can’t remember meeting them in person.

"You have lots of admirers and I am jealous." Erik said seriously, his eyebrows were furrowed.

Aryana chuckled. "How did they find out I was here."

Erik also thought about that. They might have learned from the company.

Aryana asked the body guards to help carry the flowers to the general ward and have them distributed along with the fruits to the patients there.

Life was really unfair. Those who have much, much was given, but those who are really in need doesn’t even have a chance of having simple luxuries of receiving fruits.

The poor patients were very happy when they received the fruits and flowers from Aryana. It brightened their bleak day even if only for a moment.

"Erik, how about I recuperate at home? I don’t like to stay cooped up in the hospital." Aryana complained.

"No. The doctor will not agree."

"Alright, I listen to you." She threw her hands in the air showing her surrender.

...

At Karla’s ward, Cassie received the food box and the thermo jar that Erik sent through the body guard. She stopped grinning when the body guard told her that it was to return the favor. She immediately understood that Erik did not want to owe her.

Cassie received an email notification from the detective she hired to investigate Aryana. She immediately opened it.

"Aryana is the daughter of Erik’s driver?" Cassie re read the information about Aryana that she received from the detective to make sure she did not misunderstood.

"What did you say just now?" Karla asked. She thought she heard the most beautiful news ever.

"Aryana is the daughter of Erik’s driver." Cassie said loudly. She was smiling like a fox.

Cassie tried to remember the name of the driver. Robert. She remembered. She didn’t know that the driver has a daughter and it would be Aryana.

She and Erik has just started dating when that incident happened six years ago. She personally know Robert because Erik would sometimes asked him to fetch her or send her back or do errands for her.

"So Aryana is just a teacher. Her scholastic records seemed impressive but everything about her is just pretty ordinary. A driver’s daughter!" Cassie smiled slyly. "This will be a thorn in her flesh. No matter what she achieves in the future, she will always be branded as Chauffeur’s daughter!"

’Now I have something on you Aryana. The Lees will never allow you to stand beside Erik with that lowly background of yours!’
