THE BILLIONAIRE STILL WANTS HER!
Chapter 56: What did you just say?

Chapter 56: What did you just say?

"What did you just say?" Tryson stammered, his mind struggling to process Jude’s words.

With the thoughts of it, he dreaded the thought that something actually could have happened to Angel while he was at that the living room, and she was in the room.

At that moment that he thought Angel was in deep trouble because of the boss, instinct took over—his first thought was to rush straight to the bedroom.

He had barely taken a step when Jude’s voice cut through the tension.

"Yes, Tryson. It’s all over the internet—trending like wildfire. You, Angel, and Arthur. Everyone is buzzing, spewing hate, throwing curses at Angel, calling her all sorts of vile names. I’m sure you’ll see it soon enough, but right now, you need to protect her. If she reads those comments... God knows what she might do to silence their words." Jude’s tone was laced with urgency and deep concern.

Tryson’s expression darkened instantly.

A storm brewed within him, fury tightening its grip on his soul.

The mere thought of strangers tearing Angel apart made his blood boil. He wished he could summon fire from the heavens, raining down hell upon every single person who dared to speak her name with malice.

At that moment, his phone buzzed again.

This time, he glanced at the screen with a measured calmness, only to see that Jude had sent him the link to the trending chaos.

"Bro, you have to find a way to keep Angel from seeing those comments," Jude urged, his voice still on the other end of the call.

Tryson’s grip on the phone tightened.

"You really don’t have to worry," he replied, his tone chillingly cold.

The only thought consuming his mind now was protecting Angel. Without hesitation, he reached for the door and pushed it open.

"Angel," he called softly, stepping inside.

His eyes darted around the room, searching—but she wasn’t there.

A deep frown settled on his face as he strode toward the bed.

That’s when he noticed it—Angel’s phone, lying on the bedside table. His jaw clenched as he took a closer look.

Just as he had feared, countless notifications flooded the screen, each one linked to the vicious posts that were spreading like wildfire.

He reached for her phone, his fingers grazing its surface with a gentle touch. Just as he was about to check more, the bathroom door suddenly swung open.

Tryson reacted swiftly, slipping Angel’s phone behind his back as his gaze locked onto hers.

"Tryson?" Angel’s voice was calm, yet laced with curiosity as she took in his presence.

A soft smile curved his lips as he met her eyes.

She stood in the doorway, dressed in a plush bathrobe, her damp hair cascading over her shoulders—evidence that she had just stepped out of the shower.

Droplets of water clung to her skin, shimmering under the dim light, adding to the quiet tension in the room.

"Good morning," Tryson greeted with a warm smile.

Angel hesitated for a brief moment before her lips stretched into a timid yet bright smile. Then, with unexpected enthusiasm, she responded.

"Good morning," she said, her voice light and cheerful.

Tryson studied her carefully.

There was a certain glow in her expression, a sense of ease that told him one thing—she hadn’t seen the messages yet.

If she had, there was no way she would be smiling like that.

The notifications still flooding her phone remained a secret, for now. At that moment, Tryson’s grip on the phone tightened.

His mind burned with a single thought—whoever was responsible for the post would have to answer to him. But right now, his priority was Angel.

He needed to make sure she was okay.

No matter what happened, he had to keep her in this room, shielded from the storm waiting on the other side of that screen.

Forcing a smile, he met her gaze.

"I see you’ve just come out of the shower," he said, doing his best to sound lighthearted, as if the morning held nothing but warmth and ease.

Angel’s cheeks flushed with warmth, a soft blush creeping onto her face as memories of the previous night flickered through her mind.

"Yeah, I just wanted to take a walk around the resort," she said casually, running a hand through her damp hair.

For some unknown reason, Tryson blurted out before he could stop himself.

"No, I don’t think you should." The words hung in the air, tension settling between them.

He immediately noticed the way her expression shifted—her brows knitted together, a slight frown tugging at her lips.

"And why is that?" Angel asked, her tone curious yet laced with suspicion. At that moment, Tryson had already mapped out his plan.

If he could successfully convince Angel to stay in the room, he would have enough time to set things in motion.

First, he would make sure Kelvin handled the people behind the blog post.

Then, he would ensure that any messages meant for Angel that day would be blocked—she wouldn’t see a single word of the chaos unfolding online.

Now, all he had to do was keep her here.

At least until he had handled the situation, he couldn’t let Angel find out what had been posted.

The thought alone sent a ripple of fear through him.

He had promised to protect her, and if these three days ended in nothing but chaos, it would feel like nothing short of failure.

Tryson forced himself to stay calm, even as uncertainty crept in.

For a moment, he struggled to find the right words to respond.

But what he didn’t expect—was Angel’s reply.

"Is it because of the news, Tryson?" Angel asked, her voice calm yet piercing. At that moment, whatever plan Tryson had carefully laid out began to unravel.

His grip on control slipped through his fingers like sand. His throat went dry as he stared at her.

"How did you know?" he asked, his voice unsteady, betraying the shock he couldn’t hide.
