THE BILLIONAIRE STILL WANTS HER!
Chapter 43: What child?

Chapter 43: What child?

As the woman led Angel toward the suite Tryson had booked, her gaze was immediately drawn to the floor-to-ceiling curtains framing the room.

They were elegantly draped on either side, revealing a breathtaking view of the vibrant city lights beyond the balcony.

The sight alone made her heart flutter.

"Thank you," Angel said softly as the woman exited, leaving her alone in the luxurious space.

She turned slowly, taking in the room—the sheer elegance of it, the soft glow of the ambient lighting, the way every detail felt intentionally placed.

Her eyes sparkled with quiet admiration.

Curious, she walked over to the wardrobe and opened it. Inside, neatly arranged robes hung in perfect order.

The sight made her pause, and for a fleeting moment, she found herself wondering about the dresses she would wear while staying here.

A small smile played on her lips as she pulled out her phone, snapping a few pictures. Without hesitation, she sent them to Sophia with a simple caption:

"Do you think this is nice enough?"

She barely had time to set her phone down before it buzzed in her hand—Sophia was calling.

Angel answered immediately, excitement lacing her voice. "Hi, Sophia!"

"Angel, what is going on over there?" Sophia teased. "Don’t tell me you’ve been living your best life and left me out of all the fun! You’ve barely spoken to me these past few days."

Angel giggled, already anticipating Sophia’s playful complaints.

"No, it’s nothing like that, Sophia," Angel said with a playful lilt in her voice. "I’ve just been pretty occupied. And... Tryson—he said it, Sophia." She let her words linger, deliberately teasing.

Sophia gasped dramatically. "Why do I feel like something mischievous is going on here? What did Tryson say exactly? Spill it already!"

Angel grinned, about to reveal the secret, but before she could speak, the sound of the door opening made her pause.

Her gaze instantly shifted toward the entrance.

"Angel?" Sophia’s voice filtered through the phone, but Angel barely registered it. A sudden thought crossed her mind—it had to be Tryson.

Lifting the phone back to her ear, she spoke softly, "Sophia, I’ll tell you later, okay? Talk soon."

Before Sophia could protest, Angel ended the call and took a cautious step toward the door, anticipation tightening in her chest.

As Angel ended the call, Sophia slowly lowered her phone, but her heart continued to pound relentlessly in her chest. A strange unease settled over her.

At that moment, Sophia sat in her cubicle, immersed in her daily tasks when her phone suddenly buzzed, it was at that time she had a call from Angel.

After the call, her mind couldn’t help but think about Arthur.

Her fingers hesitated over the screen as a deep frown crept onto her face. A flood of thoughts rushed through her mind.

Could it be? Could Angel be with Arthur?

The very idea unsettled her.

Unable to ignore the growing suspicion gnawing at her, Sophia abruptly stood from her seat. With uncertainty swirling in her chest, she made her way toward Arthur’s office.

Upon arrival, Arthur’s secretary recognized her immediately, giving her a knowing nod before buzzing Arthur for approval.

The moment she was granted access, she stepped inside, her pulse quickening.

Confusion clouded her thoughts.

Angel had said something about Tryson finally saying those words... Had Tryson really confessed his love to her?

If that was the case, then this was her chance—her perfect opportunity to push Arthur away from Angel once and for all.

After all, she had waited long enough. She had endured the agony of watching her husband drift toward the one person she once called her best friend.

But patience had its limits.

And Sophia was done waiting.

In that moment, Sophia was certain—Arthur hadn’t taken Angel anywhere. His secretary’s call confirmed that much. Which could only mean one thing.

Angel was with Tryson.

Without hesitation, she pushed open the office door and stepped inside. "Could you leave her now?" she demanded, her voice laced with quiet intensity.

Arthur, seated behind his desk, immediately looked up, a deep frown settling on his face. He exhaled, already sensing the storm brewing in Sophia’s eyes.

"What are you up to now?" he asked, his voice edged with frustration.

He stood from his seat, closing the distance between them. They both held their ground, standing face to face, their gazes locked in silent defiance.

Sophia swallowed, her patience wearing thin.

Enough of the mind games. Enough of pretending.

"Could you stop loving Angel?" she asked, her voice sharp yet fragile.

Because, at that moment, nothing else mattered.

Arthur stood frozen, stunned by her words.

He took a step forward, his hands landing firmly on her shoulders as he stared down at her, a frown deepening on his face.

"What are you talking about? You know I love you, only you, Sophia," he said, his voice strained with a mix of confusion and frustration.

But before he could say more, something shifted.

A shocking force snapped across the room as his face turned sharply to the side, the sound of his growl reverberating through the air.

Sophia’s eyes hardened, her heart pounding in disbelief. "Aren’t you just a liar?" she spat, her voice dripping with disappointment.

Anger surged within her, pushing her to the edge. Without a second thought, her hand swung, connecting with the side of Arthur’s face.

She didn’t care. She didn’t care if she had just slapped him—her pain, her rage, had built up to this moment.

Arthur’s jaw tightened as he slowly turned back to face her, fury flashing in his eyes. He met her gaze, cold and unflinching, before speaking through gritted teeth.

"What was that for, Sophia?"

"The child," Sophia said, her voice unwavering. "It belongs to you, doesn’t it?"

Arthur froze, his entire body stiffening at her words. A deep frown twisted his face, and he stared at her as if he couldn’t comprehend what she was implying.

"What child are you talking about?" he asked, his voice strained with confusion and something darker lurking beneath the surface.
