THE BILLIONAIRE STILL WANTS HER!
Chapter 109: To protect him...

Chapter 109: To protect him...

A few days ago, Alex found himself lost in thought, his mind weighed down by an unsettling premonition.

With a cigarette perched between his lips, he exhaled a slow stream of smoke, his gaze fixed on the distance as he pondered the situation at hand.

He had always been certain that Tryson would achieve the greatness he had long envisioned for him.

And yet, for reasons he couldn’t quite explain, an unshakable feeling of unease crept into his heart.

Something told him that, in some cruel twist of fate, Tryson was heading toward his own downfall.

Alex had always wanted the best for his son.

From the moment Tryson’s mother first told him she was pregnant, he had vowed to ensure the boy’s future would be nothing short of extraordinary.

He had only one goal—one unwavering ambition: the child who would be born under his name would accomplish the things he himself had failed to achieve.

At first, he had considered securing Tryson’s future through marriage, envisioning a grand alliance with the future heir of the prestigious Liam family.

But fate had been unexpectedly kind to him, granting him an even greater advantage—the opportunity to raise the very child born into the Liam bloodline.

Tryson, however, had been conceived under far different circumstances.

His birth had been nothing more than a scheme, a desperate move to conceal the shame of a man who had failed to produce an heir for seven long years.

When it became evident that Tryson’s supposed father was infertile, the family had no choice but to ensure a child would be born—by whatever means necessary.

His mother had been tasked with securing an heir, and through an affair, Tryson was brought into the world.

Yet, fate had played another unexpected trick.

Not one child was born that day, but two. Twins—Samson and Rachel. And so, Tryson was not the only result of that carefully orchestrated plan.

Despite the circumstances of Tryson’s birth, Alex had meticulously planned his son’s rise to greatness.

But now, as he sat in contemplation, he could feel it—things were slipping out of his control.

The future he had painstakingly designed was beginning to crack, and for the first time, he feared it would all crumble before his very eyes.

With a deep sigh and a heavy heart, he reached for his phone.

His fingers hovered over the keypad for a brief moment before he finally dialed the number. The line remained silent for a few beats until a familiar voice greeted him from the other end.

"I want you to make sure that Tryson does not bring that girl to sign a marriage agreement with him," Alex stated, his tone leaving no room for argument.

For a moment, there was nothing but silence. Alex could already predict the reaction that was about to follow—shock, disbelief, and, most likely, an insufferable display of arrogance.

"Really, Uncle?" Arthur’s voice finally broke the silence, laced with disbelief. Then, almost immediately, his tone shifted, dripping with self-satisfaction. "You’re willingly handing her over to me? I knew it! I always knew that, eventually, you’d come to your senses and realize that I was the better choice all along. After all, there’s no one else as ideal and extraordinary as I am."

Alex remained calm, allowing the young man to prattle on, unimpressed by his self-indulgent remarks.

He had made his decision, and now, all that was left was to ensure that his plans—however altered they may be—would still unfold according to his will.

After all, this was something he never would have expected.

"But tell me, Uncle," Arthur’s voice carried an edge of curiosity, laced with amusement. "Why now? Why do you suddenly want to do this? Aren’t you happy that Tryson’s child is growing in the womb of the woman you always sought to gain power from?"

Alex inhaled deeply, his fingers tapping lightly against the desk as he exhaled through his nose. His expression remained unreadable, but his voice was firm, unwavering.

"That’s exactly what I’m afraid of," he admitted without hesitation. "The child that Angel is carrying belongs to Tryson. And I have no doubt that sooner or later, Tryson will figure it out. We have to make sure that, by any means necessary, Angel does not bring that child into this world."

The silence that followed was deafening. Even through the phone, Alex could feel the tension settling like a thick fog.

"If she gives birth to that child," he continued, his tone darkening, "it will become a major threat. We won’t be able to secure what we’ve always worked for. And as for Tryson... he’ll lose, whether he realizes it or not. Because she could use that child as a bargaining chip—she could manipulate him, twist him to her will, and in the end, we would be the ones left powerless."

Arthur chuckled softly, a slow, almost sinister sound. "So, you don’t want Angel to have that child," he murmured, as if savoring the thought.

Alex didn’t reply. He didn’t need to.

"You can consider it done," Arthur assured him, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "I was already contemplating ways to eliminate the problem myself, but since you’ve given the command, you can rest easy. That child will never see the light of day."

A sharp beep signaled the end of the call as Alex disconnected.

For a long moment, he remained seated, his gaze drifting toward the large window that overlooked the city.

The skyline stretched endlessly before him, bathed in a sea of golden lights, but he saw none of its beauty.

His thoughts were elsewhere, tangled in the web of decisions he had made—and the ones he had yet to make.

Tryson would never understand.

He would never see the sacrifices, the calculated risks, or the lengths Alex was willing to go to secure his future. Everything he did, every ruthless choice, was only to ensure that Tryson emerged stronger.

He would do whatever was necessary to protect him.

With that thought in mind, Alex reached for his phone once more. His fingers moved swiftly over the screen as he placed another call.

"Make sure the invitation for my wife’s birthday party is sent to Arthur Lamar," he instructed his secretary, his voice as steady as ever.

One way or another, he would ensure that everything remained under his control.
