Chapter 93: Elena rectifies her mistake

Nyx’s eyes watered when she went back through all that had happened to her. She blinked her eyes, trying so hard not to let her tears fall down her cheeks.

She sniffed and wiped her face, "Please, just let me go," her voice was cracked.

Elena felt so guilty seeing her that way, she went to her and held her shoulders, "I understand, and I am so sorry, I am the reason for that had happened to you," she bent her head feeling so ashamed of herself, "You deserve so much more and I promise to do whatever I can to make you happy."

Nyx looked somewhere else not knowing the best way to respond, she just sighed.

Elena held her face and made her face her, "Look at me please."

Nyx looked at her but didn’t look at her in the eye, she just couldn’t.

"What exactly do you want me to do? I will do so, I promise," she spoke softly.

Nyx, raised her brows, "Anything?"

She nodded, "Anything, I promise and please do not say I should stay away from Archi this time," she sighed.

Nyx wiped her eyes, "I.." tears blurred her vision and she hugged Elena.

She broke down in tears, and cried profusely in her arms. Elena gently tapped her head, "It is okay, do not cry my dear," she caressed her head.

Nyx cried for a long time forgetting for a moment she was still around Oberon’s room, she cried loudly, slowly relieving that burden in her heart.

Elena closed her eyes, she felt so bad for treating Nyx that way, she consoled her continually, "I am sorry," she kept her twhispering.

"I almost died, there was no one around to take care of me and the child and.. and.." she inhaled sharply as she sobbed.

Elena disengaged from the hug and looked at her with surprise, "Almost died? What happened?" She took her by the hand and together they both went to Elena’s room.

They sat on the bed, "Nyx, you have been through a lot, you should be treated with so much care," she smiled sadly.

She wiped her face, "If Dora had not come along, I am so sure I would died a long time ago."

Her heart skipped a beat, "Did.. you say Dora?"

She nodded, "Yes, she is the one who is always with Archi, that is if I am not with him," she sniffed.

She blinked her eyes, "She bears same name with my daughter.. she is dead now," she looked away.

Nyx raised her brows, "Your daughter is .. you had a daughter?"

She nodded, "But she died, unfortunately," she inhaled sharply and exhaled gently.

"I am so sorry to hear that."

"Let us forget about that, you are the one who is important for now," she smiled.

She nodded, "Well, I am fine now, but now.. that position, Oberon wants to make me his mate, I do not think I am accepting that," she shook her head.

Elena’s face fell, she bent her head, Nyx was not to be blamed.

"I understand, just take your time, it came as a shock, I was so surprised when I heard the news too."

Nyx folded her arms, "Why did she claim to be his mate in the first place? What even attracted them to each other?" She arched her brow.

"I, myself, I am also confused, but what can I say? This has never happened to us before, I was Alcide’s first and only mate, I am wondering what happened to our son."

Nyx palmed her face, "A mix up by the moon goddess?" She scoffed.

"I do not know, it could be that too," she shrugged.

Nyx stood up, "I should go check on.."

"Just stay a little longer, please," Elena said after her.

She sighed and looked at Elena who looked at her with pleading eyes.

"Okay, just for a little while," she nodded and went back to the bed.

Elena was grateful, she reached out for her hand, "I am so grateful, I promise to be that mother you never had," she looked deeply in her eyes.

Nyx was startled and looked at her with shock, "What?"

"I know about it all, your parents never loved you and we only made it worse," she said disappointedly.

Nyx bit her lips, it was as if her heart was opened and rush of fresh air was let in, her eyes grew teary again, she covered her face and sniffed, tears threatening to fall.

Elena patted her shoulder, "You do not have to worry about it again, I am here for you," she pulled her into a warm embrace.

Nyx buried her face in her neck and cried softly, "Stop crying, you will be fine," she patted her head.

"I just wanted to be loved, I never wanted anything more than that," she sniffed.

"I promise to fulfill all those, I promise," she rubbed her small back in a comforting way.

"Thank you so much, I would really appreciate that," she said quietly.

"It is something I am supposed to give to you, I failed, but I will not fail again, you do not have to worry, I am here for you," she hugged her tighter.

There was silence for a while, only their breaths and Nyx’s sniffs could be heard.

After a while, she pulled away, "I should go now," she wiped her nose, "I think I have overstayed."

Elena knew she could not stop this time, she nodded, "There is no problem, just take care of yourself," she blinked and smiled at her.

"Thank you," she stood up and walked out of the room as fast as she could.

Elena sighed when she had left, "Dear moon goddess, please help me keep my promise, I really do not want to hurt her again."

She stood up and headed to the door, a smile on her face, finally happy she had done something to calm Nyx down.

Then there was a loud scream and then a loud crash followed.
