The Alpha's long lost heir
Chapter 67: "Where is my son?"

Chapter 67: "Where is my son?"

Dora panicked hard, she ran to the stream, "What is a kraken doing here in the first place?" Her mind raced back to what the kraken had earlier said, ’Lycan pup.’

"Is he really a Lycan pup?" She squinted her eyes, "If so... The kraken considers him a threath!"

She wiped her eyes and ran to the stream, "Archi," she whispered desperately, "Oh, no no, I can not lose him, not for anything," she shook her head.

There was this disturbing silence over the stream that worried her endlessly. Desperate and scared, she fell beside the stream weeping, "Oh my goodness, what am I going to do now?"

She could feel all of her blood draining her veins, there was no way she was going back to that house without Archi when Nyx had clearly wanted Archi to stay at home with her.

She hugged herself, there was no possible solution in her head, she neither knew if the kraken had did something to him nor he was still struggling for his life.

She exhaled deeply, "If it means going in, I will," she took a deep breath and jumped into the stream.

Reaching the bottom, she saw nothing, there was not even a sign of the kraken around, her heart beat faster, "Where did he go?"

She swam to a side of the stream hoping to find a trace of the kraken but she failed. Her eyes watered despite the fact she was still in water.

"Archi please be safe, nothing will happen to you," she whispered, still swimming around to find them.

"Is this stream not small enough? How did they just disappear?"

Her head was flooding with so many bad thoughts she was trying to shove away.

"I can not go home this way, without Archi, I will find him no matter what."

She resurfaced again, trying to catch her breath, "I am going again," she told herself, and dived back into the water.

She swam as far as she could but she didn’t find him ’around’ the stream.

She resurfaced again, this time she had lost all hope. Afraid of the unknown, she reached the bank of the stream, sat down there and broke down in tears.

"He can not be gone, I know he is somewhere around here, why can I not find him?" She asked no one in particular.

She cried there for a long time, hoping at least to see him again, but Archi never came back there.

She wondered how she would face Nyx by the time she got home, she was getting scared of going back home but she knew she had to. Nyx would worry endlessly and it wasn’t nice keeping her like that.

Feeling sad and defeated, she stood up from the ground, she took one more look at the stream, no sign of Archi.

A tear slid down her cheek, " What have I done?"

"It is almost dusk and they are yet to arrive," Nyx panicked. She kept walked to the door every now and then expecting their arrival but they were still yet to arrive.

She sat on a chair, "What could have made them stay this long? They were supposed to fill their kegs and then come back here, what else was there to do?"

She frowned, "It is already late, Archi is not supposed to be out late at night, what are they still doing there?"

She dressed up in worry, she had lost her patience, she had waited too long. She dressed up quickly, and left the house in a hurry almost forgotting to lock the door.

She hurried to the stream, she at first walked, then it became a brisk walking which later turned into running.

"Moon goddess, please keep my Archi safe, let nothing happen to him please, and keep Dora safe too," she muttered as she ran to the stream.

She arrived at the stream, her heart racing fast, she tried searching for them with her eyes. She walked closer to the stream but they weren’t there.

She caught sight of Archi’s keg, she rushed towards it, taking it in her hands she unconsciously caressed it, "Archi," she said softly.

She looked around, "Dora? Archi? Where are you both?"

There was no reply, her heart skipped a beat, "Dora? Archi? Archi! Please come out now, if this is a joke, stop it, it is not funny anymore."

She heard someone sniffing behind her, she quickly turned around. It was Dora, she stood looking at the stream, her hands behind her, lost in her world.

She rushed to Dora hoping to find Archi behind her but she was disappointed when she got there.

She looked around Dora, "Why is Archi not with you?"

Dora slowly turned to look at her, her eyes were so puffy and red.

Nyx was concerned, "What is the matter? Why are you so sad?"

Dora felt a pang of guilt hit her hard, she palmed her face, and cried.

Nyx was beginning to feel this ominous wave over her.

"Where is Archi?" Her voice broke.

Dora couldn’t respond, she only cried. The realisation hit Nyx, Archi was gone?!

"No, no way, you can not tell me that? Where is my son?"

Dora coughed, "I.. everything was fine, but .. he .. it.. I still do not know how, it is all... my fault," she croaked.

"What happened to him?" She asked, her voice not much above a whisper.

"The kraken..." she paused as she did not have the heart to say what had happened next.

"Kraken? What kraken?"

Dora didn’t reply, she continued crying.

"Tell me!"

Dora jerked in shock, she sniffed, "The kraken took him," she gulped.

Nyx’s jaws dropped in shock, "Took him?" She placed her hands over her mouth and took a few steps backwards.

"Yes, I tried to.. I even had a good grip of him but.. he.. it threw me away, with this force I could not understand," she shook her head in disbelief, her face still soaked in tears.

Nyx could feel this certain shock rock her entire body, she bit her lips, and slowly, sat on the ground, still dazed in shock.
