Chapter 65: The Alpha and his heir
Oberon looked at the man, gaping, "How come I never knew? And how do I believe you?"
He smiled, "Do you think I would be playing around? With such a matter as this?"
He shook his head, "No, I am sorry."
He sighed, shaking his head, "She is with your child, somewhere out there," he pointed to the woods.
"She has been there all these while?"
"That is not what I mean, I mean, Nyx has been living with her child in the woods all these while."
Oberon’s heart fell, "How did I not know about this?"
"You never wanted to know, if you really wanted to know, you would have given her a chance."
"I never knew she has something to tell me," he shook his head.
The man looked at him in the eyes, "Oberon, the son of Aldoph, you have a heir who is out there, living like a commoner he is not, you have to go after him, bring him back and save the pack or else, you lose it to a stranger, you never knew."
Oberon was terrified, "Lose it to someone else?"
"If you do not have a heir, you might lose your pack forever, your pack, your throne."
Oberon looked at his palace that was some yards away from him, he was not ready to lose it to someone he didn’t know, and he was also desperate for a heir.
"Where can I find her? How will I find her?"
"That I can not say, you have to find her, that is for you to find out, where she would be."
He palmed her face, "Nyx," he called softly.
"You have a Kingdom to save, your throne is in your hands now."
Oberon raised his head again, "Even if it means going out into the woods, right now, I will do it."
He smiled and stood up, attempting to walk away but Oberon held him back.
"Why are you leaving all of a sudden?"
"I have to go, my work here is complete."
"I still do not have an idea of finding them, where will I start searching from?"
"That is up to you, that is not my right to give."
"Why? Help me, please."
"I have, I have already helped you, there is no other way."
He gently disengaged himself from him and walked out of there, leaving Oberon more confused before he met him.
Oberon stood up slowly, looking at his palace, he shook his head, "I want my heir, I will save my pack, I will save my throne."
He walked away into the woods.

"Mommy, it is another day, can we go to the stream now, I am too excited to stay back," Archi cried.
"Why do you even want to go there? Dora has volunteered and she will definitely go."
"I want to go with her, why can I not go with her?"
"Just stay at home and help me with me some stuffs."
"Oh mommy, let me go with her, I have never been to the stream."
"You will but as it seems now, it is not your time."
"What is wrong with me going there? I am old enough to take of myself, I can even take care of aunty Dora," he whined.
"You will, but that would be one day."
Dora came into the room, "What are you guys arguing about?"
"Mommy does not want me to go to the steam with you."
"Why?" She chuckled, looking at Nyx.
"He should stay with me at home, he could help me with some chores at home."
Dora rolled her eyes, "Stop being dramatic, you are only scared, that is the reason you do not want him to come with me."
"Of course, I am scared, he should stay at home with me."
"Please mommy, let me go with her," he pouted, giving her his most adorable puppy eyes.
Nyx looked away, "Stop this Archi, why are you doing this?"
He folded his arms, "Let me go with her, please mommy, please."
"Come on now Nyx, let him come along."
She rolled her eyes, "Okay, fine, he can go with you. Make sure you both come back on time."
"Yay," Archi ran to nyx and hugged her tight.
Nyx felt her insides melt, she emabraced him warmly, "Be safe Archi," she said softly.
"I will mommy, thank you so much," he disengaged from the hug, ran to Dora and slid his hands in hers.
Dora grinned widely and together, they went out of the room.
"I wish you both a safe journey," she said softly.
Dora chuckled, "You worry too much, we will see you later," she said.
Nyx sat down, she was worried, she was always worried whenever Archi went out with Dora. She loved her child, and because of that she was always protective of him.
She palmed her face, her heart throbbing for no particular reason, "He might start displaying those strange characters again," she shook her head.
She looked around, "Archi, please be safe," she prayed, "I hope you never bump into your father, I would never want that," she prayed.
She placed her hand on her chest, trying to calm her palpating chest, "I feel so odd, why?"
She shook her head, stood up and went outside, "Dear moon goddess, please never let Oberon find us," she closed her eyes, "I do not want him to find us, I do not want to be with us," she sat down in front of the house, the overwhelming silence pressing in on her.
She looked at the sky, it was that day, the day she had to run away from the palace, so she could protect herself.
For the past six years, on that particular day, she would pray, hoping Oberon never found them, she had detested him already and there was no way she was going back to him.
"Please, do not let Oberon find us, that is all I can say, I do not want him to see me, I do not want him beside my child."
She was hoping her prayers would be answered, it had been answered for the past six years, little did she know this particular season was going to be different.
