Oberon was so happy when he received the news, "She is pregnant?" He stood up walking towards her slowly.

She nodded, "You heard me right, she is pregnant."

He felt butterflies throwing a party in his stomach, "She is carrying my child," he said softly.

Due grinned, "Exactly, she is carrying your child, will you not go and see her? She is waiting for you."

Without thinking twice, he ran to his room. Selena sat on the bed, her eyes darting round the room.

Oberon smiled and walked to her, "Selena?" He called, his voice filled with so many expectations.

Her eyes fell on him, she blinked, "Oberon," her voice not above a whisper.

He went to sit beside her, "Selena, you are actually pregnant," she could see the joy in his eyes.

She nodded, "Yes," she took his hand and made him feel her stomach, "I am carrying your son, he is right here," her eyes teared up.

He embraced her warmly, his heart flooring with joy.

"Finally, I have a heir, we can finally tell the pack about your pregnancy," he grinned.

She nodded, "The elders will be satisfied now."

He grinned, "Just ask of anything you want, and you will not be denied okay?"

Her eyes brightened up, "Really?"

He nodded, "As long as it is within my power to do it, I will surely do it."

Elena had been watching them this whole while with tears in her eyes, "I will finally have my own grandchild," she chipped in.

Oberon faced his mother, "This calls for a celebration, I can not keep this news to myself," he said.

"Yes, you can now tell the pack and the elders too."

"Yes mother, that is what I plan on doing."

He went to the bedside table and rang a bell, a maid rushed into his room, "Your Majesty,"she bowed.

"Tell Mark to assemble everyone in the living room, all of the servants who work here should be present, I do not want an excuse," he said firmly.

She bowed, "Yes your Majesty," she turned around to go.

"Wait, send someone to go get the elders, we also have an important discussion."

She nodded, "Yes your majesty, they shall be informed," she walked out of the room in a hurry.

Oberon turned around and smiled at both women, "I want to make him feel welcomed even when he is in the womb, my son deserves the best," he said, pride gleaming in his eyes.

Selena was happy seeing him that way but was also worried, she knew very well she wasn’t pregnant and Oberon was being deceived.

He went to her and gently kissed her forehead, "You do not know how happy you have made me today, I already feel complete."

Elena hugged her before leaving Due and Selena together.

Selena looked at Due. When she was sure they were from earshot, she told Due, "They looked so happy, I do not feel right."

"What do you intend on doing? Tell them it is fake? Do you really have the heart to do that?"

She looked away, she could never do that even in a thousand years.

"I am scared Due, how will I give birth even when I know I am barren?"

"I have already told you, the time will come for that, but for now, relax."

There was a loud gasp behind the door. Due and Selena paused, "I think someone heard us," Selena gulped.

Due stood up and headed to the door. She opened it at once, "Who is that?" She came out of the room.

She looked to her right and saw a maid, she was sweating profusely, shaking like a leaf.

"What did you hear?"

She shook her head, "Nothing, I did not hear anything," she shook her head.

"Are you sure?"

She modded, "I swear I did not hear anything," she tried to lie but her body and her voice betrayed her.

Due squinted her eyes, "You are a threat," she gripped her arm and flung her inside the room.

Selena looked at them, "She heard us?"

Due nodded, "Yes, she did."

"Please, spare my life, I promise not to tell anyone," she pleaded with tears in her eyes.

Due shook her head, "Even if you do not tell anyone now, you will do so another time, and for that, I can not let you live."

The maid broke down in tears, "Please, I promise I will not say a word to anyone, just please let me live."

Selena was confused, "She says she will not tell anyone, but what if she does?"

"She is already a threat, I can not trust her."

"Let us do something that will send her out of the palace."

"No, she must die."

The maid cried and pleaded for her life but they all fell on deaf ears.

Due ordered that she should be taken to the cemetery, and killed there.

The guards Due had ordered, dragged her to the cemetery, all she could do was cry loudly but still no one heard her cries.

They got to the cemetery, she looked at Due with tears in her eyes, "This is not the end I promise you. The truth will surely surface one day! Selena will never produce a heir!"

"End her already!"

As she was still speaking, they stabbed her chest, the knife ran through her heart and she was silenced.
