Chapter 56: The Moon priest

Chapter 56: The Moon priest

Oberon walked through the halls, one look at his face would tell you that he was in a really bad mood.

"I wonder where she got that baby from, what if it was a ploy?" He arched his brows.

He sighed and walked to his study room, he wanted to think, as well as strategize.

"That baby is leaving, no matter what anyone says."

He couldn’t sit so he paced forth and back the room, still thinking of what to do.

"How did he come here in the first place?" He asked no one in particular.

He cleared his throat, "Only Nyx knows the answer to this, but I doubt she would tell me how he came here," he banged on the table.

’Why not draw all the answers from her?’ he heard his subconscious whisper.

His heart skipped a beat, "By force?"

’Probably.’

He squinted his eyes, "How will I do that? I am not really into torturing women," he rested his hand on his desk, looking at the wall.

’You must not torture her, but you have an authority over her, use that, and use it wisely.’

Oberon smirked, "You are right, if I knew the way he came here, I would know if he was another form of evil," he held his head.

He rang a bell. Mark came running in, "Your Majesty," he bowed.

"I want you to do something for me," he straightened his face.

"What will that be your majesty?"

"I want the moon priest to be here, we have an unusual case."

"What is that your majesty?"

"Nyx now claims an unknown baby is her son."

Mark drew his head backwards, "Her son? She is not pregnant, is she?"

"Did you not hear what I said? She is claiming an unknown baby to her son, she is not pregnant."

He blinked, "That is very odd. He might be sent from the vampires to come spy on us, she is too gullible to realise that."

Oberon paused, "Sent from the vampires? Mark, you might be right!"

"I will go get the moon priest quickly, he would know what to do."

"Yes, go to him and tell him to come here right away."

He bowed, "Yes your majesty," he bowed and left the room.

Oberon sighed and palmed his face, "This should not be so difficult, I just have to draw it out of her."

He stood up, he couldn’t believe a matter such as this was causing him to worry.

"After all this, I make sure Nyx never leaves this place, the visits from unknown people are becoming quite disturbing."

He walked hurried back to his room to look for Nyx. He entered the room but didn’t find any trace of Nyx."

"Where did she go?" He frowned.

He looked around but couldn’t find her, "She is not here," he squinted his eyes, "Did she go outside?" He growled and walked out of the room.

He met a maid on the way, "Did you see Nyx?"

She shook her head, "No your Majesty, I do not think I have seen her today."

He arched his brow, "Then where did she go?"

He walked past her and headed to the living room. He looked around but still she wasn’t around.

He blinked, "She just disappeared?"

He walked out of the house, hoping to find her there, but she wasn’t. He held his head, trying so hard to stall his anger.

"I so don’t know what I’m supposed to do with her," he muttered.

He walked to the garden, as he approached the garden, he heard laughter coming from the garden, he hurried towards it.

Nyx was playing and laughing with the baby, she didn’t seem bothered, and this time Oberon could see the baby clearly.

He squinted his eyes to scrutnize his features, he didn’t look like anyone he knew, though there was some features of Nyx in him.

"Nyx could not have birthed a baby before marrying me right?" He walked towards them.

The baby saw Oberon, and his countenance fell. Nyx noticed this and turned around, her eyes locked with Oberon’s.

"What do you want?" She asked timidly.

He held his head, "Nyx, why did you leave the room? And why are you still with this..." He pointed at the baby.

She quickly carried him and he sat on her laps, "He is not just anything, he is my son," she said firmly.

He arched his brow, "You have not birthed a child before, have you?"

She looked away, "No," she sighed.

"Then whose child is this? Why do you keep calling him your son?"

"That is what he told me, and I believe him."

Oberon was taken aback, "How could you just ... believe him?!"

Mark came in that moment, "The moon priest is here your majesty."

Nyx frowned, "Moon priest?"

Oberon nodded, "I will be there shortly, tell him to wait for me."

Nyx looked at Oberon, "What is a moon priest doing here?"

He looked at the child, "To drive away any form of evil. I do not want any evil force trying to destroy my reign," he folded his arms behind him and walked away.

She looked at him, "What is he talking about?"

"He came here for me," he replied, he gently dropped from her legs.

"He will not be able to get me if he did not see me with you," he smiled.

He sat on the ground, "Till we meet again," he vanished from her sight.

Her heart skipped a beat, "What does Oberon have against him?"

She slowly walked to the living room but this time, she was alone.

"Where is the child?" The priest asked.

Oberon faced Nyx, "She claims he is her son, and I know very well that she is neither pregnant nor has she birthed a child."

Nyx was scared, she walked in timidly, all eyes on her.

The moon priest faced her, "My lady, that baby might be a problem to us in the future, I ask you to please present him to me."

She shook her head, "I can not do it."

"What do you mean by that?"

"He has gone back to where he came from."

The moon priest looked at Oberon, "We will have to start with her."
