Chapter 50: A new home

Dora watched her unable to say anything in shock.

Nyx held Archi to her bosom, she kissed his forehead, "I am here now," she sniffed.

Dora looked at the lifeless Lycan rogue on the ground, she gulped and slowly stood up. She walked to him to feel him.

"Nyx?"

She raised her head and looked at her, "Yes?"

"He is dead," she said.

Nyx looked shocked but not surprised, "He is?"

Dora nodded, "Yes, you stabbed him in his heart."

Nyx shook her head, "I did it for my child, I wanted to protect."

Dora only smiled, her eyes filled with tears.

"Dora, we have to leave this place, it is no longer safe."

"Where will we go? Do not forget Archi is still very young."

"Do we have a choice? Should I still stay here when I am being threatened?"

Dora sighed, "Oh, I see, but where will we go to? That was the only shelter I knew of around here."

Nyx closed her eyes, "I do not know, but we have to get out of here, this place is not safe at all," she shook her head.

Dora glanced at the rogue’s lifeless body, sighed and walked to her, "You are right. Who knows of the danger that lurks around here? We never knew this rogue lived here."

Nyx nodded, "Exactly, we have to prevent such from happening in the future."

Dora helped her up, "If you say so, we have to pack the little we have there."

"What about his body?" Dora pointed to the rogue’s body.

"What about it?"

"It is not a good idea to leave his body lifeless here, we could hide it somewhere or bury it."

Nyx creased her brows, "But why?"

"We just have to do it, what if other members of his rogue pack see it?"

She sighed, "Okay then."

They hid his body somewhere among the bushes and left that area as fast as they could.

They both set out for their cottage quickly, it was getting darker, but Nyx was still determined to leave that place.

They got to the cottage, "I will go pack," Dora told her.

Nyx nodded and sat down. She hung her head sadly, "Where will we go?" She asked no one in particular.

"Why do you want to leave?" She heard someone behind her.

She jerked around, it was the strange werewolf. She didn’t know why but she felt so happy seeing him.

She stood up, "You came," she said teary.

"Where are you going to? Why do you want to leave this place?"

She dropped her gaze, "It is not safe," she replied.

"Why do you say so?"

She sniffled, "My child was almost killed," her voice was choked.

His sockets (he had no eyes) rolled, "So leaving is the best option?"

She nodded, "Besides, Oberon might come looking for me, Mark, his Beta came here earlier today, so he will definitely disclose its location to Oberon," she said all in one breath.

He gave her a long unseeing stare, "Where else will you go?"

She shook her head, "I do not know, but I have no choice, danger lurks around here."

He raised his chin, "Will you just venture out in the woods? You could get killed there."

"No, no, I will venture out somewhere else."

"Nyx," he called.

She raised her head to look at him, "Yes?"

"Think about your son at least..."

"I am thinking of him! He is the reason I want to leave this place. Danger lurks around here and they are all coming for him."

"Very well then, come with me," he passed through the wall.

She hesitated, "But.. Dora.." she looked back, "Dora?"

"Just a little more," she said from inside.

"She sighed, "Could you hurry up please?"

"Okay, I will be right there," she replied.

A few minutes later, she came out, with a large wooden box, she had recently carved.

"Let us go."

"Wait... We have someone with us."

"Who?"

"I do not know his name but he has been of great help to me."

Dora arched her brows, "Oh?"

"Let us go outside."

Dora was curious, "Okay," she followed her outside.

He was still waiting for her patiently.

"Here he is," she said softly.

Dora’s jaws dropped, "Who.. how.. who is this?"

He turned to look at Dora with unseeing eyes, "I am not important, and so is my identity, just come with me," he said cooly and began to walk ahead of them.

Dora was still in shock, "I do not..."

"Let us just follow him, no need for questions," Nyx told her.

They followed him to wherever he led them.

He led them to the heart of the forest, he led them till they got to a small house, it was smaller than their former house but it was still very accommodating.

Dora was shocked, "Where has this been? How did you do this?"

He didn’t respond, he only stood outside and didn’t enter.

"This should be more peaceful, and closer to the market."

Tall tress were surrounding the house, the sounds of insects and small birds filled the air.

"Thank you so much, I do not know how to thank you," she smiled through her tears.

He turned around and vanished from their sight.

Dora couldn’t contain her surprise, "He vanishes? How come? What kind of a werewolf is he?"

Nyx shrugged, "I do not know, but I do know he has been of a great help to me."

Dora sighed, "We have to clean this place, then settle down."

Archi sneezed twice.

Nyx looked at him, "Oh my, I hope this is not a cold," she completely wrapped him in her arms.

Dora turned the door knob but it didn’t budge.

"Where is.."

"Here it is," Nyx handed her a key.

She opened the lock and turned the door knob, it opened.

They got in. Everywhere was dark, and it felt dusty too.

"I was right, we need to clean," Dora rolled her eyes.

Nyx didn’t say anything, she only looked at the new house, hoping it would be a safe haven.
