Chapter 41: How they met...
The winds swooshed and the cold bit and gnawed. The bushes rustled, the roofs of houses clattered and clanged. The winds were in a sort of ritual in shaking things out of their bounds.
The moon was yet to come out of its hiding place. The earth was quiet and everywhere was still.
She looked at the clouds with expectation, she waited for the full moon.
It started getting cold but still she didn’t relent. She was waiting for the full moon and nothing was gonna stop her.
She hugged herself and drew her legs up to her chest.
The clouds began to show a ray of the moonlight. She looked at it and smiled. Slowly and steadily the moon broke through the clouds.
A ray of the light hit her and she found herself howling loudly. Her eyes gleamed with white light and her howls grew louder.
A ray of light hit her again and a burst of white light. The light was blindingly bright. All that could be seen was white light and her howls were the only thing heard.
When the light had stopped shining, she was a complete werewolf. She howled for sometime and trotted into the bushes.
It was Nyx’s eighteenth birthday, the day her wolf in her awakened. She had always dreamed of celebrating this day with all her loved ones with her and they’d all witness her shift shaping.
She whined sadly, wandering deep into the bushes.
She got to her favorite spot amidst the bushes, it was the only area free of grass and shrubs. She found a bark of tree there and sat down.
She tried pushing away her sadness and tried to howl but it came out as a sad whine.
She dropped her head in sadness, her parents didn’t even acknowledge this day as her special day. They all acted as if it was every normal day.
A sound was heard in a distance, she turned her head towards the direction it came from and leaped. She stretched down low so whoever it was wouldn’t see her.
The bushes in that path began to rustle, she whined lowly and waited for the thing or person to come out. Her heart was racing, a mixture of fear and anxiousness.
The figure appeared in her sight, it was also a werewolf, a male werewolf. She whined in surprise. The werewolf trotted towards her.
It sat down and it slowly transformed back to its human form. She whined in surprise staring at the beautiful male I’m front of her.
He twisted his neck and stood up, "Now where did I put my clothes?" He looked around for any sign of his clothes.
She growled and the man looked in her direction, "What do you want now?" He rolled his eyes.
This was her spot, what was he doing here then?
"Oh, this is also my spot, I guess it’s ours now." He smirked but it soon disappeared as he began again to search for his clothes.
She whined, even her favorite spot wasn’t entire hers, what then really belonged to her?
He found them lying neatly in a corner, he rolled his eyes and put them on.
Nyx just started at him, this man was perfect though. She hadn’t seen any male naked before but the first naked male she saw, took her breath away.
He looked at her and arched his brow, "And who are you?"
She sat down, still staring at him.
He squinted his eyes, "Mmh, you won’t say anything." He shook his head.
The breeze blew gently, she shivered slightly. He sniffed in the cold air and smiled.
"Such a pleasant night under the beautiful moonlight." His eyes fell on her.
She shook her head and leaped. She looked at him for a while and trotted out of that spot, leaving him alone.
She trotted for a while and then she began to run as fast as she could.
She didn’t know where she was running to or why she was running but something in that man made her run.
She got to a tree and stopped, she wasn’t in a mood for long talks and conversations. She coiled herself up under the tree and slept off.
...
The next morning, she woke up to see herself on a bed with her clothes on. She creased her brows and looked around. She was in her room.
"How did I get here?" She held her head.
"I brought you here." She heard a voice behind her.
She turned and saw that same guy from last night.
"What are you doing in my room and how did you know where I live?" She blinked.
He shrugged, "Is that how you say thank you? I brought you here from under that tree, it wasn’t nice to just sleep outside. Anything could happen so I brought you here."
She furrowed her brows, he even traced her to the tree.
"Uh... Thank you but you have to go, my parents shouldn’t see you here." She shook her head.
He raised his brows, " What will they do?"
"They’ll cause a scene and start calling me a whore who brings me to their house." She sighed.
He chuckled, "I see, they don’t like you that much, do they?"
"They hate me so much, sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve such cruel treatment from them." She sighed
He nodded, "Then I must leave at once." He smirked and jumped out of her window.
She sighed and held her head, "Things get worse every day." She stood up and walked to the bathroom.

"I’ve found her. I’ve found my temporary queen." Oberon gently caressed the throne.
His mother looked at him with brightened eyes.
"Someone who can stand as queen till you find your mate right?"
He nodded, "Yes. She’ll be perfect for it."
Elena held her chest and sighed, "Thank goodness, we really need her. You can’t be crowned king unless you get married to her." She said anxiously.
"Is she good enough? I don’t want an improper werewolf to be the Luna of the pack." She said firmly.
"Don’t worry mother, she’ll be just fine. She’s good enough."
"Where did you find her Oberon?" She probed further.
"Why are you asking me all these questions? I’ve found her, I’ve found her. You don’t have to worry about anything." He frowned.
"I have to ask you Oberon, we can’t just pick anyone to be Luna, even if she’s going to be a temporary one." She sighed.
"Everything’s in order, she’s good to go at least for the time being." He rubbed his temples gently.
"We have three more full moons left before your coronation. You have just three full moons to find her." She was all over with worry again.
"Mother, I’ve found her already." He looked at her with surprise.
She sat down beside the late king’s throne, "I just hope she’s worthy of being a Luna." She shook her head.
"Well, she should be." He shrugged.
She gently held her head, "I wonder when you’ll get over this carefree attitude, you’ll become king in the next three full moons!"
He chuckled, "I know that. I haven’t forgotten that yet."
"Then act fast. If you have found your temporary Luna, we have to get her married to you as soon as possible." She said.
