Chapter 34: They escaped!

Nyx and Dora ran as fast they could out of there. When they got to a place, they stopped to catch their breaths.

"How did you do that? You made him have a change of heart," she gasped.

Dora smiled, still panting, "I just guessed since he was being left out, he must have some kind of low rank of some sort, so he would be treated differently of course," she explained.

"Wow, we are free now," she sighed.

"Let us get out of here," she held Nyx’s hand.

"I can not run anymore, I am so tired," she whined.

Dora bit her lips, they might finish counting anytime soon, and would definitely come for them.

"Oh, Nyx," she sighed, "We have to get out of here, but we can not ignore the fact that you are a pregnant," she held her head.

"Dora, I am thirsty," she gasped.

Dora looked around, they were in the middle of a big empty space, there was no sign of water being around.

"Just hold on a little, we will be out of here very soon."

She held her hand, leading out of there. The entrance to the forest was still a long way off and they weren’t even close to it.

They continued their walk till Nyx could hold on no longer.

"I can not move, I am too much weak to do so," she heaved.

Dora understood how Nyx was feeling, she wondered who would have left her alone in this condition.

"If I could see the father of your child, I will snap his head off, he did a very bad thing leaving you to yourself, now we are this state, all because I do not want you to starve."

Nyx hung her head, she wished she had resisted Oberon at the beginning.

"We can not cast blames now, what had happened, has happened, we only have to get out of here, that is our main concern."

"I have no problem with that, but you have to keep moving, please Nyx, they might come for us any minute from now, we have to get out of here."

Nyx shook her head, "I can not move, I am so tired."

Dora bit her lips, they could not risk staying there and at the same time, she did not want to stress Nyx.

"Mmh, what if I helped you move?"

Nyx looked at her, "That would be too stressful for you, I am heavy as at now."

"I have no choice," she looked for some pieces of barks on the ground and began to carve something.

"What are you doing?"

"Making a simple cart and do not worry, I am fast."

"Please do not bother about it, let me catch my breath and then I will walk."

"No, you might get tired later, let me just move you, that will be faster."

Nyx tried to talk her out of it but Dora didn’t listen to her.

"I got this," she assured her.

She was incredibly fast and had carved out the cart. She looked for some vines and tied them together.

"Come on, get on it."

She hesitated for a while, "But..."

"I do not want to hear any protests from you, I just said get on it, we can not risk those people getting to us," she sighed.

Nyx nodded, though she was still hesitant about it.

She walked towards the cart and got in. Dora tied the vines around her neck. She closed her eyes and then transformed into a full fledged wolf even without any ray of the moon.

Nyx’s jaws dropped, "Huh?"

Dora ignored it, and then drove the cart out of them, she was unbelievably strong and also very fast too.

Nyx held the rough edges of the cart, so she would not fall off. Dora tried her best to be gentle at the same time, fast.

"I hope we get there soon, please let us get there soon," Nyx said silently.

They were close to the entrance of the forest when they heard voices behind them. She looked back and noticed the vampires behind them.

She was terrified, "Dora! They are behind us!"

Dora increased her pace and continued towards the entrance, if they could get to the entrance before the vampires, they would be completely safe.

They were now close up behind them, "Do not let them escape! Get them!"

Dora tried increasing her pace. One of the vampires was now very close to the cart, he stretched out his hand to grab Nyx’s hand but she quickly shoved his hand off.

He fell down and sprained his wrist.

"Get them! They are close to the entrance already! Do not let them get out!" Dracula yelled.

The entrance was a few meters away. Riley increased his pace and ran close up to the cart, he held the cart thereby reducing the pace of the cart.

Nyx was confused, an idea popped up in her head. She took a hairpin that held her hair together, she dug it in his hand and he yelped. She quickly took it out and threw it at his forehead, and it ran into his head.

He held his head, yelping in pain. Dora howled and ran out of the forest through the entrance.

"Yes!"

Dracula was furious, he cursed loudly at them but they didn’t pay any attention to them.

Nyx could finally breathe, she inhaled deeply allowing the cool breeze to graze her skin.

"We did it Dora, we did it!" She grinned.

Dora got to a point and stopped. She loosened the vines around her neck and transformed back to a human form.

"Phew! We are finally out!"

Nyx was very grateful to her, "Thank you so much Dora, if we had walked, they would have got to us."

She nodded, "No problem, besides, how did you manage to ward them off?"

"Hmm, I used my hairpin on Riley, I hit him bad," she grinned.

Dora smiled, "Let us go home, we have had enough trouble for one night."
