Chapter 30: Bloodthirsty

Oberon observed all of them, he was still raging from what Xander had told him, but he decided to keep calm.

They all breathed threats against him but none of them seemed to shake him. His eyes met with the horseman, he gave him a piercing, cold stare and he shrinked, avoiding to look him in the eye.

"Who are you? And what do you see want?"

One of them spoke up, "If it is not Alpha Oberon, the most cruel tyrant I know," he said scornfully.

He arched his brow, "And you are?"

"My identity does not matter, what matters is that you have wronged a lot of people and for that you will not be spared," he warned.

"Let me see what you can do," he said calmly.

There were quite taken aback since he didn’t look bothered neither was he troubled. He stood still,still giving his horseman that cold piercing stare.

They drew out their swords to finish him there, the first one charged at him but Oberon was quick enough to dodge it and the man ran his sword into a bush.

Oberon tool out his dagger and stabbed him from behind quickly, it ran through his chest and stuck out the other side.

The others were terrified, but still unwavered.

The second one charged at him but Oberon took him by his neck and twisted it the other way round.

His horsemen was trembling with fear, since Oberon was this brutal with them, he would definitely not spare him.

He took his dagger out of the first man he had slain and ran into the heart of the second one.

The third and the fourth one were terrified and they fled leaving the horseman behind.

Oberon looked at his dagger now stained with blood and looked at him.

He fell on his knees, trembling, "I am so sorry your highness, I was being blackmailed, they threatened me," he knelt down in tears.

He squinted his eyes dangerously, "You dare set me up?"

"No your highness, I can swear, I had no choice," he sniffed.

Oberon arched his brows and flipped his dagger, "If you could do this once, you could definitely do it again another time."

He shook his head, "Spare me your highness, please your highness, I swear, I would even think of such."

"Then what happened?"

He croaked as he struggled to explain. Oberon listened to him speak with disinterested eyes.

"I swear on my life, I did not intend to do such a thing your highness, but they told me that if I do not do as they say, they would kill my children."

He arched his brow, "And you chose to let them threaten you?"

"I had no choice, have mercy on me your highness, please spare my life," he begged.

Oberon smirked and shook his head, "Now you’re begging for mercy, if I finished you off this instant, what would you call me? A wicked king?"

He shook his head, "Please forgive me your highness, I’ll never do such a thing again, have mercy," he pleaded in tears.

Oberon smile disappeared, "I’m having no mercy tonight," his face hardened.

The horseman was terrified, "Please your highness, have mercy on me," he shook violently.

Oberon flipped the dagger and came towards him.

"Maybe you should have a rest from all these threats, it would be better if you were gone once and for right?"

He shook his head, "Your highness, please," he cried.

Oberon raised his dagger and he closed his eyes, expecting the knife to run into his neck but he felt nothing.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked at Oberon, who held his head, he was happy but still terrified.

"Leave from here and never come back," he said coldly.

He nodded, "Yes your highness, thank you so much your majesty." He stood up and took to his heels, running away from that place as fast as he could.

Oberon closed his eyes for some seconds trying to comport himself, Xander had angered him and now his horseman betrayed him.

He went back to the chariot and drove himself back to the palace.

Oberon returned back to the palace, he was not in a good mood. He walked straight to his study room, fuming.

Mark was waiting for him.

"Mark? You’re back already? Did you bring her with you?" He asked with hope in his eyes.

He shook his head, "No your Majesty, we never saw her there," he shook his head.

He frowned, "She was not there? Why did you tell me she was there?" He yelled and banged on the table.

Mark replied, I was informed that we would see her that, but it turned out to be a wrong information." He sighed.

He held his head in confusion, "Where exactly did she go to?" He sighed.

"We tried searching the whole of that area but we did not see her, I even sent some men to go over to the valleys but there was no trace of her there," he sighed.

Oberon twisted his lips, "Fine then, you can leave."

Mark bowed and left the study room.

He exhaled deeply, "Where did she go?" He bit his lips.

Someone knocked at the door, he turned around and saw Selena at the door.

"Oh, Selena, come in," he sighed.

She came into the room, "Oberon, we need to talk," she said softly.

He arched his brows, "Okay?"

"Do you love Nyx?"

He frowned and pushed his head backwards, "Why would ask such a thing? You are my mate, the one I love," he said softly.

"Then why do you worry so much about Nyx?"

He sighed, "Well, she just ran away and goodness knows what condition she is in."

"If you do not love her then why worry so much about her? If she decided to run away, then let it be, how does that concern you at all?"

"I am sorry Selena, I do not mean to make you feel uncomfortable."

She made a firm face.

"You have to promise that you will forget about her, it is either you stay with me and forget her or you lose me to go get her," she said firmly.

He sighed, he was quiet for a while before speaking up.

"Yes, I promise."
