Chapter 231: Strange killer

Chapter 231: Strange killer

Archi sat down on that same spot his mother had left him at. His eyes were dark, lost in thoughts. The longer he had to wait to kill Oberon, the more distant he was from his mother.

"This is not a good sign at all, I have to kill him, and be quick about it."

He propped his chin, "Come on, poisoning him did not work, what will?"

"Should I just sneak into his room at night, then kill him?" He growled then his eyes brightened.

"Kill him at night," a grin flashed across his face, "I should definitely try that. No one would know, there would not be a single trace."

His eyes glowed with mischief, "Yes! That would be the best option," he chuckled.

He rose to his feet, "I am coming for you Oberon," his claws extended, his pupils dilating, "Yes!"

LATER THAT NIGHT

Luckily for him, he was not on duty that night, so it was a perfect time for him to strike.

He had already calculated the hour in which Oberon would have dinner, his night bath, come over to the window overlooking the garden, then when he would finally go back to sleep.

He had everything planned out. Putting on his mask, he hid his dagger underneath his clothes. He could not carry a sword, that would weigh him down. He also took a rope with him.

Heading towards the main palace building, he sighted some of the guards on patrol.

"These might cause me trouble, have to finish them off before they do anything, heh?"

He quickly hid behind a wall so he could watch their moments. One of them walked by where he stood, so he quickly grabbed him by the neck, stabbing his neck several times before he could even scream, then he let his body drop to the ground.

"Tsk," he grunted, hiding away from the other guards who had noticed thier colleague on the ground, then rushed to meet him.

With their patrol paused, he passed there, rushing to the garden. That is when his rope would come in handy.

"Hopefully I can get this done, before any more trouble," he muttered, hoping none of the guards at the front door was on a patrol af the garden.

He reached the garden, then quickly took out of this rope,

"Hmm," he looked up at the window, "This was harder than I thought," his shoulders drooped, then he dropped the rope, "I guess you are not needed for now then."

He dragged himself to walk towards the main entrance. Now he had to dodge all of those guards who guarded the front door.

"Tch, killing is not an option. I came here to kill just him, not wipe the entire pack off," he clenched his jaw.

He hissed, perching behind the extended wall that separated him from those at the front door.

"Well, well," he sighted a guard coming his way, "Got to make use of this one," he whipped out his dagger.

The guard wakes up to where he hid, but he didn’t notice someone else hiding there. Brushing past the wall, he was heading to the garden.

Archi quickly seized him, sticking his dagger in his chest before he could react.

"Do not even bother making a sound," he slit his face, then let him fall backwards to the ground.

He peeked to see if anyone was coming, but none of the guards seemed to notice one of them had been attacked.

"Ugh! I do not have all night," he gritted his teeth. He looked behind him, "Passing the back door might be worse," he bit his lips.

Then an idea crept into his mind, "Hehe, I am a guard after all," he took off his mask.

He had to get rid of the guard who he had just attacked. Acting as if nothing had happened, he decided to casually walk to the front door.

"Are you on duty tonight?" One asked gruffly.

He shrugged his shoulders, "Well, does it matter if I am? It is the king we want to protect," a wicked smirk played on his face, "!Not you."

They had not even said another word, when Archi just barged in through the front door.

"That was much easier," he coughed slightly, quickly putting on his mask again, before anyone else could notice.

He whizzed past the living room, running quietly through the hallways.

"I am almost there," he sighed under his breath.

He stopped when he thought he had gotten to Oberon’s room. Testing the door knob, it was not locked from inside, meaning he could enter without a struggle.

The room was very dark, not even a single candle was lit.

"I did not think about this, not that it affects me but.." he slapped his head. He quietly closed the door behind him, careful not to make the door squeak.

He walked to the bed trying to drink in the features of whoever was the bed. He knew he was bound to mistakes, he didn’t want to make them again.

He let his hand search the bed, but it seemed there was no one on the bed.

"No wonder I could not see anything."

A hand touched his shoulder, "Are you looking for something?"

He froze, cursing under his breath.

He had screwed up, again. He didn’t want to over react so he stayed still.

The hand placed both hands on his shoulders, then spun him around. His eyes met the fiercest pair of grey eyes he had ever seen.

"Who are you? Are you lost?"

Archi refused to say anything, he kept mum, his hands quivering.

"Klaus?" He called, trying to get at the mask, but he didn’t let him.

"Who is this?"

He still kept mum, wondering if he should still strike, or forget about it.

’He was supposed to be asleep! What happened?’

"It is okay son, these doors may be confusing sometimes, but this not the room you are looking for, or probably you wanted to go to the end of the hall," he patted his head.

Archi groaned inwardly, how was he so nice all of a sudden?

Then boom! He struck, stabbing him on his left side of his stomach, but before he could strike again, Oberon had caught his hands, wriggling the dagger out his hand.

Archi was enraged. He kicked him in the gut, pushed him away, then ran to the window, jumping out.

Oberon clutched at his abdomen, dropping to the ground. Who was this strange killer now?
