Chapter 203: Dead end 2

Thane looked back in horror. This time silver arrows were being launched at them.

"What is happening?" Thane gasped.

"It is obvious that we are being attacked! Let us get out of here!" Carmilla yelled.

They crawled in order to avoid the arrows that were flying above their heads.

"Who are these people? What do they want from us?" He panicked.

"We should get out of here first, then we can talk about that."

"Oh my goodness, teleport out of here or something," He almost yelled.

"I have to concentrate to do that, I just can not teleport with all these chaos going on," he growled.

"They are literally shooting silver arrows at us!" They kept crawling into safety.

"Let us get out of here first! Focus on where you are crawling too, stop panicking," he tried to calm him down.

The arrows kept coming in their direction like showers of rain.

"This is getting worse," Thane muttered under his breath.

Carmilla saw a small tunnel ahead, "This is one of the most interesting woods I have ever come across," he shook his head, "Strange things out of nowhere," he sighed.

"There is a tunnel ahead!" Thane pointed at.

"Come on, let us go. Yes, try as much as possible to avoid the arrows," he bent to the side to avoid an oncoming arrow.

They crawled faster till they reached the tunnel. Thane crawled in first, but before Carmilla could crawl in, an arrow hit him in him in the back.

"Carmilla."

Carmilla groaned, as he felt it stab like hot red iron. He fell face flat before he could reach the tunnel.

Thane took a hold of his hand, pulling him quickly.

"Carmilla," he gasped.

The arrows still kept coming, leaving him to wonder who shot those arrows.

He had to drag him through the tunnel with all the strength he had.

"Carmilla," he called again, "Can you hear me?"

"Oh no, no," he kept crawling through the tunnel trying to avoid the arrows, at the same time, drag Carmilla through it.

"You will be fine Carmilla, I will get us out of here," he said. It was more of reassuring himself that he could get them out of there, than he was assuring Carmilla.

Suddenly, the arrows stopped coming. It was as if the person shooting arrows had ran out of arrows, "Oh good riddance," he mumbled under his breath.

He reached the other side of the tunnel. Looking around, and seeing no one, he carried an almost unconscious Carmilla in his arms, and began to look for some sort of shelter.

"You will be fine, please stay awake Carmilla," he begged him, "You will be fine," he said worriedly as he looked for anything that would stand as a cover to him.

He kept on walking as fast as he could, hoping to lose whoever shot those arrows before they resumed.

He saw a huge tree ahead, and he rushed towards it, "I will make sure you are fine Carmilla," he kept on saying.

He arrived at the tree’s root, going around it for cover. He gently placed Carmilla on the ground face flat.

"Carmilla.." he called again, "Hey can you hear me? Please wake up," he shook him gently.

Carmilla tried saying something to Thane, but his words were constantly failing him.

"Wa...r"

"What?" Thane leaned in closer, "What do you want?"

He tried saying something again, but his words were incoherent.

"Water? Is that it?" He asked panicking.

Carmilla nodded slightly.

Thane looked around. They were in the middle of nowhere, where was he supposed to just get water from?

"Carmilla," he said softly, "Th- there is no water around here.. probably if.. if I walked farther, we could maybe find water."

He opened his eyes weakly, "I know you are hurt, wait.. let me get the arrow out of you," Thane shook his head.

He took hold of the arrow with one hand, and tried to pull it out gently.

"I can do this," Thane whispered with shaky hands,"One, two, three," he quickly pulled it out.

Carmilla felt as though fire was coursing through his veins. He groaned loudly, "Agh!"

"I am sorry, I just had to remove it."

Thane was angry, and frustrated. He had to go through all of this in just one night, how was he supposed to continue with this?

"Arrow has been removed, what next?" That’s when it dawned on him, that he was not a doctor, and he knew nothing about vampires!

Carmilla on the other hand, was not being so responsive so as to even help him on how he would treat his wounds.

"Come on, this is just too much!" He raised his hands in the air, "What am I supposed to do now?"

"Carmilla?" He called, but he was just too weakened to even form proper words.

"Please Carmilla, you have got to help me, just say something, I know nothing about Vampires, what am I supposed to do now?"

He sat on the ground, his hand on his head, "This is all my fault," he said to himself, "I complain too much," he gulped.

"Carmilla," his voice broke, "Say something, please."

He is a vampire anyways, leave him alone, he is not of your kind.

His eyes flung open, and he looked around, "What?"

Leave him alone, it should not be on you that he died.

"What? I do not want to believe.."

Leave him alone.

"No! I will not. He is my friend, and I will not leave him like this for anything!" He screamed, blocking his ears.

He bit his lips when he didn’t hear anything, "Carmilla," he leaned forward, "Talk to me please," he was literally begging, "Just anything, what am I supposed to do next, this wound is obviously hurting you."

"Thane.." he heard him whisper.

His eyes lit up, "Yes? Yes?"

"I.." he inhaled sharply, "Help.." mumbled.

"I want to.. but I do not know how," he replied.

Carmilla began to heave, "I.. you would.." he paused trying to catch his breath, "you would.. help," he resumed his heaving.

Thane was mentally distressed at that point, "Please.. I do not know anything about vampires, just say something."

Carmilla’s eyes flickered.

"No.. please.."

"Help," was the last thing he said before he blacked out.
