Chapter 199: Crossroads 2
"Die."
Thane closed his eyes, as his throat was constructing. He could see his life gradually slipping away right before his eyes. How did he get into this?
’I can not die! I still have numerous responsibilities to take care of!’
With the last strength in him, he managed to take a few steps forward, reaching where Carmilla stood. Before Carmilla could react or say anything, Thane had mustered all the strength he had left, jumped, giving Carmilla a very hard kick in his groin.
Carmilla groaned, losing his balance, he released his clenched fists.
Thane was set free. He felt a rush of fresh air rush into his lungs, and he began to gasp noisily for air.
Carmilla cursed at him, "You little.." before he could complete his words, Thane had punched him way harder than the first time.
He lost his balance, and fell to the ground. Thane saw that as an opportunity to get away from him. He scrambled away, leaving Carmilla groaning in pain on the ground.
He didn’t bother to decide which of the crossroads to follow, he just ran ahead.
"Dear moon goddess! How can he see me so well? Ugh!" He ran as fast as he could, "Too bad for an Omega like me," he increased his pace.
Carmilla managed to pick himself from the ground, and saw that Thane was gone. He looked ahead to see his faint figure running away.
"Not on my watch pretty boy," he snapped his fingers, with the blink of an eye, he was right behind Thane’s sprinting figure.
He leaped, crashing into Thane, and knocking him to the ground.
"You thought you could just get away?" He brought his claws out, then he held it closer to Thane’s neck.
"I will not stop till I get every single drop of your delicious blood," he was turning feral with rage, "Say your final prayers!"
Thane struggled to get him off him, but unfortunately for him, this night wasn’t a night of the full moon, so there was no way he could activate his instincts, and senses.
Thane clenched his jaw, using all his might to knock Carmilla off his back. He kicked at him severally, also trying to crawl away from him with his hands.
Carmilla hit the ground with his palm, "Enough of this! Let us get straight to the point, shall we?"
Thane hissed, and tried to get to his feet, but Carmilla knocked him back down, and pinned him to the ground.
"You are not going anywhere," his cool voice had suddenly tuned.. not so cool all of a sudden, "I will kill you!"
Thane was pinned to the ground so he couldn’t move at this point, he still tried his best to break free from whatever Carmilla was using, but then again he was a vampire, he was making use of magic!
Carmilla protruded his claws out ready to sink them in Thane’s face when the rustling of leaves nearby caught their attention.
"Who is that?" Carmilla asked in his normal cool voice.
The leaves rustled for a little while, then stopped. Carmilla rolled his eyes, shook his head, and then turned to face Thane.
He sighed I’m frustration, "Let me just finish this once, and for all," his fangs elongated. Leaning forward, he sunk his teeth into his neck.
Thane was suppressed on the ground, so he couldn’t fight back.
Something jumped out of the bushes at that moment, and kicked Carmilla, knocking him off Thane.
Carmilla struggled to find his balance, but the kick that had sent him off was too strong, so he fell on the ground.
Thane writhed in pain, and frustration as Carmilla’s fang had already created a thin line in his neck, making blood to drip out of his neck.
Thane struggled to sit up, and find his stance on the ground. His eyes met with the little thing that had just saved him.
"Wh- what are you?"
It was a little creature about two feet tall, with a mottled skin of green, and brown color, it’s texture was looking very rough. His eyes were glowing yellow, with vertical pupils, his ears were pointed, but it was very large, and very round. It had a very huge nose, that was slightly upturned. Its body was surprisingly muscular in contrast with its little figure.
It shrugged, "Surprised to see me? Oh, I am very sure you have never seen my kind," it had a very deep voice, which was not in alignment with its baby like face!
"What is...your kind?"
"A Groll," it shrugged, and faced Carmilla. A huge evil grin appeared on its face, flashing his very sharp, jagged, and yellowed teeth.
"A vampire! Ha! Today is definitely my lucky one," it sauntered over to where Carmilla lay in shock, and kicked his feet.
"My family would definitely enjoy a sumptuous meal after a very long while," he cackled.
"Hello? Gr-oll? What kind are you? Why are you here?"
The creature which had identified as a Groll, picked Carmilla up, and punched his face so hard, he began to bleed very bad.
Thane’s jaws dropped watching the sight before him. This Groll which was not more than two feet had this kind of strength?
"I am the breed of both a troll, and a Goblin," he pulled Carmiilla’s hair leaving Carmilla to yelp, "That is all, ask no more questions, and get out of here."
It took Carmilla by the hair, and dragged him back to the place he came from. It was surprisingly very strong, and no matter how Carmilla tried to get away from it, he just couldn’t, for some reason, he couldn’t cast a spell. Spells didn’t just work on this creature.
"Let me go! Who are you?" Carmilla yelled at it.
"I will not repeat myself," he sighed, "Just say your last prayers, and prepare for death."
Carmilla was petrified, "Death?"
Thane just watched on, too shocked to move.
"If you did not know, Grolls have a liking for the flesh of Vampires, is it not a delight to feast on soulless beings, over, and over again?" he burst out laughing hysterically, "Tonight will be a feast of a bloodless soul!" He let go of Carmilla’s hair, and spread out his hands laughing, "Such a pleasure!" He snickered.
Thane blinked in horror, and got to his feet, looking at Carmilla one last time, he turned on his heels, and began to walk away.
The Groll grabbed Carmilla by the hair again, dragging him along with it. He was in serious pains, as he groaned, and yelped for help.
Thane felt sorry for him, but he knew that vampire was an endangerment to him if he still stayed around.
He walked a little further, but Carmilla’s cries bothered him. He cursed himself for having to be a kind man, and turned around walking towards them.
The Groll was so focused on his feast he was planning to throw, he didn’t notice when Thane came from behind, and stuck a small stick right into its right eye.
It let go of Carmilla, and yelped very loudly, disoriented. He drew the stick out, and ran it through his other eye. The Groll fell Tom it’s knees in serious pains crying out loudly.
"Save me from this curse of kindness," he muttered, and struck its head, giving it a severe blow.
