Chapter 194: One easy battle
Archi hurried away from the garden, trying his best not to look back at her. His heart pounded within the rib cage, and he could feel this piercing pain in his chest.
Why did he have to meet her in this manner?
He dragged himself back to the guards quarters, his head spinning with a lot of thoughts. He wanted to just get rid of his father, and leave this palace with his mate.
He sighed deeply as he reached the guards quarters, "It is just a matter of a few weeks. I will soon be out of here."
He walked into one of the head guards.
"Who are you? What do you want?"
"I am a new guard here. The king did approve of me being here," he replied dryly.
The head guard scrutinized him, a disapproving look on his face.
"You do not feel right. Which pack are you from?"
"A neighboring pack," he shrugged.
"Which of the neighboring packs?"
"I do not feel that is for you to know sire," he looked away.
"Oh really? I am the head of the guards here, and I demand to know who you are," he said firmly.
"I do not want to tell you anything. I did come here to stay forever, do not make this hard for me," he growled, and attempted to walk past him, but the head guard held him back.
"Who do you think you are?! How dare you talk to me like that?" He roared.
Archi sighed, trying to keep his cool, "Do not start what you can not finish. Please let go of me."
"What is going on here Lincoln?" Another guard came out, and noticed Lincoln who grabbed Archi’s collar.
"It is this strange man who says he is a new guard here, and I did not know about him."
"If the king has already approved of my stay here, what is your stress?"
"I do not approve of your stay here. You look, and feel like a threat. I do not want you here."
"Calm down Lincoln, do not get all worked up now. The king has already approved of him being here, you can not go against the king now, can you?" The guard asked him.
"You do not understand Zane, this guy feels so much more than an ordinary omega."
The guard called Zane looked his way, "You are not a beta, are you? I mean why would you want to be one of the Palace guards if you are a beta?"
He groaned, "I am not a beta, now please leave me alone. You are making everything worse."
"He is even an arrogant one!" He yelled, "Now, why would I want to keep him as a guard?"
Archi blinked his eyes in surprise, "Excuse me sir? You are clearly the arrogant one here, you are the one who is gripping me, and I have done nothing wrong to you."
"Oh please keep all those acts of yours to yourself, I can feel it deep down you are a threat, and I do not want that."
Archi held Lincoln’s hand, and shoved it away, "You are squeezing my clothes. Keep your filthy hands to yourself," he gently brushed his collar, and sighed.
"Now, get out of my way please."
Zane, and Lincoln’s jaws dropped in shock, "Do you know who you are speaking to young man?" Zane gawked at him.
"I do not care actually," he rolled his eyes, "Just get out of my way. I would not want to rip your insides out while you are still looking."
Their bickering back and forth was attracting some attention, and a small crowd had gathered watching them go back and forth.
"Is he actually fighting with the head guard?"
"Now that is one brave man!"
"It is a good thing though. He should put him in his place, we have had enough of him!"
The guards murmured amongst themselves.
Lincoln was enraged by Archi’s daring attitude, and what angered him even more was the comments that the guards under him made.
"How dare you?!" He pushed Archi backwards ready for a fight.
"I already told you. Do not start what you can not finish," Archi replied calmly.
The guards who were gathered around began cheering them on, spiting a fight.
"A fight would not be that bad. Come on, show him what you have got new guy!"
"It seems they want a fight," Lincoln smirked.
"I do not think that is necessary though, you might regret it," he shrugged.
Lincoln ignored him, and attacked him, giving him several blows at once.
The guards who watched cheered loudly, encouraging Archi to retaliate. Zane had drew backwards watching them.
"You might want to stop before it gets any worse," Archi warned dodging most of the punches.
Lincoln was too pissed to listen to him. He launched at him again, breathing heavily, "I will make sure I kill you!"
He ran madly towards Archi who caught his hand, and twisted it.
"Are you sure about this?" Archi drew him close, their eyes locking.
"You are messing with the wrong person young man," he heaved, trying to wriggle free.
"You asked for it," Archi sighed, and before he could say anything else, Archi had slit his wrists.
Lincoln groaned in pain, "Ahh!" He groaned. Archi was making him more furious by the minute, and this was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
In rage, he jumped at him attempting to pin Archi on the ground, and deal with him properly, but Archi saw him coming, and went out of the way so he crashed into the ground with a loud thud.
The guards grimaced as soon as Lincoln landed on the ground. He had landed badly on the ground, and had ended up with a broken neck, and arms.
Archi looked at him writhing in pain on the ground, "I told you. You would regret this," he shrugged, and walked towards the building with his shoulders raised high.
A sea of eyes watched him as he walked into the building, unshaken.
