Chapter 185: Archi gets to know the truth

Chapter 185: Archi gets to know the truth

Nyx sat before Archi who was already knitting. Nyx watched him knit for a while, gratitude and hurt swelling in her heart.

"I love you so much son," she said affectionately.

A corner of his lips went up, "This is the umpteenth time you are saying that today mother," he chuckled, "You know I love you too."

"Archi, I think it is time I tell you everything."

He raised his head, "Why we left the palace?"

"Everything."

He arched his brows, and stopped what he was doing.

"Like what?"

"Have you ever thought of the reason why you transform on every full moon, even sometimes without the moon?"

He shook his head, "I never really thought of it."

She exhaled deeply, "Well, though I can not explain why your wolf decided to wake up this early, but I can say you have always been special, and you have saved me many times while I still carried you in my womb."

"Oh, that is quite cute," his eyes gleamed with pride.

She managed to smile, "Back then, something had happened to you. If you can remember, you were six, and.."

"The encounter with that sea monster?"

"Yes."

"Okay?"

"Your father was a Lycan, but had always thought he was an Alpha, I still do not know the reason why, but it was quite strange to us then."

Archi was completely immersed in her story, he sat properly, and listened attentively.

"And yes, that incident when your wolf woke up all of a sudden, this proves you are special. What else could it say?"

Archi bent his head, "Oh."

"I also have not told you the incident when you were almost killed by a rogue Lycan, all because he said you would grow up and become a threat to the rogues."

He whipped his head to look at her, "What?" His eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

She nodded, "Yes."

"How come I am just knowing this? Me? A threat to the rogues?"

She nodded, "Yes."

"Why.. how.. how am I supposed to face a rogue?"

Nyx sighed, "Probably I was blessed by the goddess. The circumstances surrounding your birth was a lot."

Archi squinted his eyes, "Okay, this is going to be a lot."

She shook her head, "There is no one else I can tell at this point. You are literally the only one I have."

His eyes softened.

She played with her fingers, "I had you when I was nineteen years old."

His jaws dropped, "What? Nineteen? Excuse me? Why? Why did you give birth so early? That means you are thirty three. If you were re nineteen, how old is father then?"

"Oh, he is way older than I am. He should be close to three hundred years old. I think two hundred and seventy."

He gawked at her in disbelief, "Why would you marry an old man?"

"I did not want to marry him in the first place. My family forced me to marry him."

"Oh, so you do not love him?" A knowing smile formed on his lips.

She stuttered, "I.. why are you asking me this? That is.. not the point."

"Answer the question."

"I.. no.. I do not.." her face turned bright red with embarrassment.

"You later fell Inlove? Aww."

"No!" She snapped, "Listen to me."

He folded his hands across his chest, "Oh I am listening."

"It is not as if I hate him.."

"Of course you do not, it is obvious."

Her cheeks turned pink, "Archi, listen."

He threw his head backwards, and laughed, "Right. I am sorry, it is just that it is so satisfying seeing you blush.

She rolled her eyes, "You are so unbelievable."

"Go on with your story," he laughed.

"It is long and complicated story, but I will try as much as I can to break it down for you."

"Your father had married me because he wanted to ascend the throne. He had to be married, so he could be coronated"

"Oh?" He arched his brows.

She nodded, "Yes, so he had to marry so the elders would let him become king."

"I thought he was king since he was a child? He said he had to become king since his father was dead."

She shrugged, "This is what I know. I can not say about that."

He creased his brows, "Okay, but something is definitely off in this story. It is not adding up."

"Just listen to me, will you?"

"Okay, okay."

She continued, "Eventually we had to get a divorce, that was the day I found out I was pregnant."

"What? He divorced you even while he knew you were pregnant?!"

She shook her head, "He did not know I was pregnant then."

"Interesting," he held his chin.

"He had found his ’fated mate’, and asked for us to be divorced, so I signed the divorce papers, and left the palace."

"That is bad. That is not a nice thing at all," he creased his brows.

"It was a tough battling with your pregnancy all alone, I almost died, but that was not the will of the moon goddess."

"Okay, good."

"Then along the way, I met the Dora, and that is how we all lived for a time now."

Archi nodded, "Hm, go on. I still want to get the point of everything you are saying."

"You see, your father wronged me. I mean, who would marry a she werewolf all because he wanted to ascend the throne?"

"That is being power greedy," he nodded thoughtfully.

"My point exactly," she sighed.

"The moon goddess must have seen all this, and blessed me with you."

He exhaled gently, "So, I am not the normal werewolf child then?"

She nodded, her heart swelling with pride.

He bent his head, and clasped his hands together, "Hm. Why did you leave the palace then?"

She inhaled, "Uh.. well, even though he did a bad thing to me, I am not a bad person I will not wish any bad for him, even though I did get, and will still get my revenge, I still will not want him to die."

"So why did you leave?"

"I was threatened."

Nyx sat before Archi who was already knitting. Nyx watched him knit for a while, gratitude and hurt swelling in her heart.

"I was warned."
